I’m not too big on Spooky Season

I'm usually on and off when it comes to Halloween. I wasn't really feeling it for a good three years during and post-Covid but this year I'm in the Halloween spirit more than I've been in years. I don't know if it's because of my constant need to catch up on movies I haven't seen yet (leaning on horror lately) or maybe it's a way of coping with pre-election jitters, maybe a little bit of both.

But usually I do my best to watch four things: The Adventures of Pete & Pete “Halloweenie” episode, Addams Family Values, Rosemary’s Baby and this gem:

You know i keep thinking about Venom 3 and how disappointing it was. I wasnt expecting a great film by any means but this just seemed like there was so little care put into it. And its yet another cbm that was so blatantly cut and reshot to s*** and just shat out into theaters. And i feel like films like this are becoming more and more commonplace these days.

There have been so many of these cbms lately that are released that are just…incomplete. Like straight up not done. Inexcusable VFX, incoherent editing, atrocious ADR like Madame Web that essentially rewrites the entire film, scripts that literally make no sense, entire plotlines that go nowhere. And i dont think its gonna get better y’all. Never mind Kraven, but Cap 4 is shaping up to be a BIG ol mess. It feels like the REAL superhero burnout is coming from the people making these things. Theyre burnt out from making them.

Born Again looks lit but thats about it. And i cannot believe they are dragging Ben Kingsley’s Slattery out again. Arguably the worst character the MCU has ever created.
