This has nothing to do with anytning but it makes me weep to hear James Cameron hype up his new Avatar movie and i just. Dont. Give. A. Damn. I wish wish wish i loved these movies like everyone else but i felt nothing on the last two movies and I consider Cameron one of my favorite all time directors. I literally adore every single movie he’s made BUT the Avatar films.
Same.

I dont love the Avatar films, but my opinion is the same as the discussion about whether or not Miller should have done a Mad Max film instead of Furiosa: Cameron has earned the right to make whatever he wants. Regardless of my relative interest level. If these are what makes him excited creatively, then this is what he should be doing. Do what you like, especially when you're a legend

Did Rope have Navis riding on ikrans? I think NOT! :o

Sidebar, why didn’t you tell me about The Woman In The Yard?! I had to find out about this during a commercial break on Monday Night Raw tonight :sneeze:

Blumhouse is in the craphouse (pun intened) for me for the last few years, so I don't have any faith it will be good even with Danielle Deadwyler... but that trailer is pretty effective.

In my dream of dreams, Cameron would make one more original R rated sci fi action thriller starring Linda Hamilton and Sigourney Weaver. Some big 3 hour epic roadtrip movie where the two legends have to team up against a threat that makes the T-1000 look like the TX.

Ugh, yeah I feel you.

But gotta check it out for the culture. Plus Deadwyler is another one on my MCU Storm wishlist.

Jordan Peele can't direct all black cast horror. :o

It's so funny for me with Deadwyler, when I first saw her, she was in such a deadly serious movie with Till but then in everything else I saw her in after that (mainly in interviews), she's such a loveable goofball who can do a (pretty awful) Gollum impression.

He should take a hint from Lex (and myself):

But not everyone can pull off the baldie :o
A photo of him from his college days. I think he could still pull it off:

If he wasn’t already playing Peacemaker, it would’ve interesting to see in an alternate universe how him as Lex Luthor would’ve been. Probably would’ve played it more like the Superman: TAS version, who is usually cool, calm and analytical but occasionally loses his cool from temper tantrums and bouts of rage when things are out if control or aren’t going his way.

That’s just a hypothetical, though. I really love the Nicolas Hoult casting and can’t wait to see what he brings to it.
I'm assuming this is more on Disney+ losing a lot of subscribers but I'm hoping it gains more traction towards the end of the season. There could be a lot of people resubscribing later to binge it before the finale.
Yeah, I think people are just waiting for all the episodes to release before resubscribing.

Also, in regards to the Daredevil premiere having low ratings, this is what the very first episode of Andor got in its premiere:

Andor went through the same thing where it didn’t do as well initially because audiences were just waiting for all the episodes to release so they could binge them all at once (which is most definitely why they’re doing the three episodes a week for season two so they don’t lose people), and then it did really well by the finale. It seems like the same thing is happening with Daredevil: Born Again. The advantage that is has is that it has a very devoted, built in fanbase.

People really need to take a second look at these things before casting final judgments just because it’s a thing you don’t and/or want to fail released by a company you typically don’t like.

There have been some things released under Disney that I have liked, and some that I really did not. Despite all of the terrible studio politics going, I’m still willing to judge each project on his own merits instead of just deciding that it’s going to be automatically terrible.

Here's the thing, that devoted fanbase already showed up. And while I am sure WOM is decent for Daredevil, it cannot compare to the WOM that Andor was receiving. Can you honestly tell me that serious critics will be calling for actors in Born Again to receiving acting awards?

As for Andor doing the three episodes a week thing. I mean, if you have watched the first season, it makes sense. My impression of Andor was that it was less a TV series, but an old school, TV miniseries.

And I'm going to be honest here. Andor is kind of hitting at the right time. And, I think, Disney is learning some tricks from how Paramount markets Star Trek, with Andor starting to show up on youtube and hulu (I am willing to bet you will have been able to see all of season 1 on youtube before the premiere). Can't really do that with Daredevil.

The only thing that is really comparable is that season 2 is already paid for, and is happening.

Uh, Andor never did particularly well. Yes it steadily built viewers, but it still barely reached the numbers Acolyte even STARTED with. That's why it got its 5 originally-planned seasons cut down to two - because it costs too much for its ratings. And the only reason we're getting that 2nd and final season at all is because it got so much acclaim and awards recognition. Andor is not a streaming numbers comparison any D+ show wants to have. That way lies cancellation.
