Wait they said what now?
That philosophy extended into how the film itself was made. “I really wanted it to feel like it was made in 1965, the way Stanley Kubrick would have made it,” says Shakman. “Within reason.” There is, he says, an emphasis on practical sets and props — the production included a 14-foot-tall spaceship miniature, similar to how Kubrick used miniatures on 2001: A Space Odyssey — and Shakman and his team have “used old lenses, and taken an approach to filmmaking that feels more of the time. Of course, we still have a lot of CG.”
That's like Gunn saying Superman Legacy is going to be as if James Cameron directed it.
He said that? That's like Gunn saying Superman Legacy is going to be as if James Cameron directed it.
No just making a hypothetical comparison. He said that?
Okay, Lily. You had me scared. No just making a hypothetical comparison.
Just remembered the "wanted to make this movie like Stanley Kubrick would've" comment. Meanwhile they can't even avoid looking like a Tim Story movie. Such an unserious production company.
I think it's within reason to go back to that well because Fox royally screwed up Galactus the first time and this takes place in a separate universe from the mainline MCU, which is an added benefit to bringing in such a massive threat. That's because they are adapting the same material.
This is why I am wondering if it was a good idea to go back to the Galactus and Silver Surfer well, right off the bat with the first MCU FF movie.
It's an alternate reality. Anything could work there under the right conditions.I wanna ask a question thats gonna trigger the class: in an alternate reality, could Fant4stic have worked on a conceptual level? Like, we're all in agreement that movie the way it ended up is an absolute abomination but...could it have worked? Could an elseword-ish body-horror-ish version of the Fantastic have worked and been accepted?
DARKDEVIL!I really hope in the next season they stop lighting the scenes like this: (they probably wont)

The words ‘Within reason’ are doing a lot of work here.
Since I haven't to date gotten a movie that was a good and serious attempt at making the FF that I know and love, I don't care for this hypothetical. Looks like that's changing this year, but I just cannot find myself to care whether or not that piece of garbage could have been good.I wanna ask a question thats gonna trigger the class: in an alternate reality, could Fant4stic have worked on a conceptual level? Why did they lower the ages of the characters?Hell no Fan4stic couldn't have worked in another reality or another planet.
Nothing good ever comes from disregarding and disrespecting the source material.
Shawn Levy's movie. What is Star Wars, Starfighter?
It's weird we haven't gotten much news on this one compared to Toy Story. They're missing a a little one called uh... FROZEN 3.
