Guys I’m excited for F4 and all, but after I just can’t shake the feeling it’s not going to do that well. I just don’t feel the hype for the movie amongst the casuals I talk to who are more excited for Superman and Jurassic Park. Now I hope I’m wrong, and the movie does gangbusters but to borrow a classic saying from a certain galaxy far far away, “I have a bad feeling about this.”
Sure, F4 has some name recognition so it may do better than Thunderbolts, but it’s still a considerably less popular IP than Jurassic Parl and even Superman and I do ponder if a 60’s setting is really all that appealing to audiences.
I wish it wasn’t being released in July — would much prefer it to be released in August. Releasing F4 in such a competitive month like July is a mistake, imo.
I think Marvel wanted it to lead into Doomsday the same way First Avenger lead into The Avengers, but pushing Doomsday and Secret Wars to December of 2026/2027 blows that plan all to hell.
Eh i dont think the extra 6 month wait is going to dull the GA’s hype for Doomsday anymore than i think the 4 year wait for Spiderverse’s conclusion is gonna dull that movie’s hype. As long as it looks good people will go.
I was just explaining why they were so insistent on keeping FF in July.
But in retrospect, if they knew they were going to release Doomsday in December of 2026, they might have given First Steps more time to cook and pushed its release date back also.
I had planned to take photographs to memorialize the meats. But I failed to do so because time got pretty hectic. But here was the first picture of the brisket as I was slicing it.Congrats to your son! Enjoy the brisket and pork butts!
Yeah he was first talking about it back in 2019:Oh sorry, I didn't know he had personally stated this before .
Considering how inept they were and are...Yeah he was first talking about it back in 2019:

Christopher McQuarrie Shades Warner Bros. While Revealing His Proposed Interconnected 'Man Of Steel' & 'Green Lantern Corps' Ideas They Passed On
Christopher McQuarrie has revealed a few details about the mooted “Green Lantern Corps” or “Man Of Steel 2” movies he proposed to Warner Bros.theplaylist.net
But back then, his stance was "the experience put me off superhero movies and I'm no longer interested."
NOW, he's saying he's ready to make those pitches whenever WB/DC gives him a call. So either time heals all wounds....or he really is finally done with Mission: Impossible and is looking for another ongoing franchise paycheck.![]()
Thanks for this, this seems like he is talking about two films. Did he also mention before that he wanted Green Lantern in his Superman film?Yeah he was first talking about it back in 2019:

Yeah he said they were "interconnected" so they'd appear in each others' films. Thanks for this, this seems like he is talking about two films. Did he also mention before that he wanted Green Lantern in his Superman film?
I still for the life of me can't figure out what marketing voodoo they pulled off to make the Jurassic World movies a hitGuys I’m excited for F4 and all, but I just can’t shake the feeling it’s not going to do that well. Nostalgia. All that franchise needed was over a decade of hibernation for people to miss it. Plus, and I can't stress this enough, kids love dinosaurs.I still for the life of me can't figure out what marketing voodoo they pulled off to make the Jurassic World movies a hit
After JP 3 that franchise was all but dead
Then like the scientists on the island they made some bastard clone of the original and the next three movies hit a billion dollars, despite being utter dogs**t
It's basically two things. Those that were kids when the original JP came out are now adults and the series lay dormant for a long time but no other major dino franchise came around. So the series has the monopoly.I still for the life of me can't figure out what marketing voodoo they pulled off to make the Jurassic World movies a hit

JP 3 was met with a meh response but still did okay. The Lost World was a pretty big hit at the time. It held the opening weekend record for four years and it came in second only to Titanic at the worldwide box office that year.True
But that didn't help JP 2 or 3
so just surprises me that World hit the way it did, and with no obvious nostalgia-bating by having the original actors come back (until the apparently even worse sequels)

Both Jurassic World and Aquaman when I saw them were very packedIt's the same voodoo they used to make the first Aquaman movie make a billion dollars.
Because I sh** you not, for a movie that made as much money as it did, no one I knew actually went to go see it in the theaters and I don't recall theaters being packed for it.
