So did this movie bomb yet? LOL

I'm out this ***** for now.

Nope, you are out of this site for a week and out of this thread permanently.

The very fact you can't see how ignorant and offense the idea of "Traditional lesbian look" is, is and enough, but I have just read through 3 pages of the most obvious, petulant trolling I have had the misfortune to read on here.

Now before you get all ready to rant at me in a PM when you see this, and I'm sure you will, just know that you can save the SJW stuff as I'm the guy that wasn't happy that they made a girl the lead in the new Star Wars film! :wow: The difference is I didn't dress it up or try to subvert threads with poorly veiled attempts at upsetting others, and I also didn't make offensive remarks to try and validate my point.

For all your posting equivalent of chest thumping in this thread you have betrayed the one ounce of backbone in your argument, which is actually being honest about your intent. Maybe take your week off and think about that, or rant at me, whichever is fine.

I don't see this thread anymore. All I see are its dark corners.

For realz though this thread is just a ****ing eye sore as its devolved into pettiness. I don't think there's been one straight consistent discussion about the actual film which would be nice and for once, I'd like to come here and actually see discussion about what's happening in this film like gee I don't know... most other threads on the hype. Is it really too much to ask?

It faces the same problem that FF faced. With so little actually out there, it will inevitably turn to the toxic negativity.

This thread needs to shape up, you don't like that they decided to go with a team of female Ghostbusters? That's fine, I believe in your right to not like that change and I won't tolerate names like bigot and misogyny being tossed around casually because of it.

What I don't agree with and what wont be accepted is constant snide remarks about the actresses looks or the need some have to try and denigrate the idea of an all female cast as a "gimmick" or a "novelty" because that is offensive and if you can't see why that's a problem, then you have bigger worries than the Ghostbusters not having penises this time around.

Bottom line is we have established now, tediously so, where everyone stands regarding the casting, so lets have this thread be an actual discussion of the movie from this point on.

Consider this a metaphorical line in the sand folks.

I will say that the toys have more articulation than I remember my old Ghostbuster toys having.

Thank you Hunter.

LOL!

this thread is very entertaining. so far about the only good thing coming out of this movie is the back and forth banter between the divided fanbase

So, I can't wait to see the trailer. For all kinds of reasons.

Well said, Hunter.

I have no idea how this film will turn out but I'm completely supportive of an all female team and I've been a hardcore fan since the beginning. (Ghostbusters was a huge staple for any 80's kid).

I'm definitely going to go in this with an open mind and hope for the best.

I'm gonna give my two cents about this movie.

If it's good i'll watch it in the Cinema.

If it's bad, i'll probably watch it on home release.

Either way whatever direction they're going with this film, i wanna say that i have faith in this film, why? Mainly because of one reason, Paul Feig.

The dude knows how to make comedies, good comedies, Bridesmaids was one of the funniest films i've ever seen, and the Heat is what I consider to be one of the most underrated good comedies i've seen in years, i mean Melissa McCarthy as the tough cop and Sandra Bullock as the goody two shoes detective? are you kidding me that premise sounded hilarious! And it definitely delivered and more lol.

And if Feig can bring his comedic talents in writing and directing this film then i trust what he's doing. :up

P.S. if i didn't like something being made then i wouldn't go to a thread about it and complain. :o

I would hope to see a trailer, maybe around the Super Bowl, thats usually "kickoff" for the spring and summer tentpoles

Ironically, Wiig's toy figure has a man face.

Melissa McCarthy looks like fat Professor Trelawney.

Jones looks like . . . a dark version of Slimer :sly:

Nothing stands out about the lesbian looking one

And this is why I have gave up debating this film, I have no interest in it due to having no love for the directors and cast pervious work, but when statements like this moronic gibberish are made is it any wonder anyone who have an opposing opinion about this film is dubbed a hater.

Crap like this just kills any argument and makes you sound like an inbred caveman.

Back on topic. I am still very curious to see the trailer. Most people here know I'm one of the many that are not excited for this film. But I am willing to give it once last chance at seeing a trailer and reading some reviews to truly decide if this is a go or no go deal. Hopes are still low, but that means I can't be more disappointed, it only gives the opportunity for me to be surprised, possibly pleased. That's how I'm looking at it.

I think this movie is going to do pretty well for itself. The timing is actually pretty good and with the cast they have and the new take, it will go over well better than a Ghostbusters 3. And I think Kate Mckinnon is gonna break out. If not here, not long after.

hope so

and considering the original film has a lot of reactive comedy as opposed to being ha ha funny, I hope this movie can do the same

Yeah I can see what you mean. Maybe you are right. But I know a lot of people who don't like this film either wanted a true sequel or the original crew passing the torch. Idk. Even though I'm against this film I am at least willing to give it a chance when I see more and start hearing some reviews.

The only thing I still don't like how this is a separate canon from the original and they aren't acknowledging it. Cameos from the original cast aren't who they were before which is so ****ing odd. Maybe we don't know everything yet but I just don't like they're going on thinking these are the first Ghostbusters.

Agreed.

I honestly don't think most "fans" would have had a problem with an all female led Ghostbusters as long as they kept it in continuity with the first. Look how accepting the fans of Star Wars have been with regards to the new characters because it's in continuity with the others.

Creed and even Mad Max did it, so can Ghostbusters. Have an all female Ghostbusters, that's great! Just keep it in continuity. It just takes a little more effort.
