The New Ghostbusters - Part 8

I also like that she is trying to be mainstream in the beginning.

Propaganda? Really? Even as much as I've been against this, propaganda is going a bit far. Yes Amy Pascal went behind everyone and got the ball rolling in terms of a reboot. However, it's Paul Feig, aka, pretty much only does female-driven comedies. As much as I hate that he didn't do an actual GB3, the man knows what he's best at, and held out until he got the control to what he wanted.

Yes, there's a lot of fighting about whether the hate is sexism, which the other side of that needs to realize people can not like things because it doesn't look good. However, calling this movie a propaganda statement? Yeah, it's pretty far from that.

They seem to be treating it like a propaganda statement. From the beginning choice to remake it as a female led film rather than as a passing of the torch sequel, to the promotion of the film, from remarks from the cast that focus on sexism to Sony deliberately deleting negative YouTube comments that aren't misogynist, I mean it clearly seems like Sony wants to focus on the sexism and misogyny directed at the film rather than the film itself because there's barely anything interesting about the film itself.

Agreed there doing this all for attention to get people interested in the film by promoting it like this and sadly it's working.

They're getting attention for sure, but whether it makes people interested in the movie itself is another matter.

You know... I don't want this movie to be a flop, just because of all the people involved. I never want a project to fail.

Having said that, I do want this to be like a wake up call to studios to stop messing with beloved old properties.

It can only be a wake-up call if it flops
if it makes money, it will be a sign to keep doing what they're doing

I just saw a tv spot where They spoiled Dan Aykroyd's cameo...but it was a completely different take and delivery than the test screening. Disappointed that they would do that, but I'm thinking they are getting desperate.

On a side note, I just picked up the Ghostbusters Video Game from 2009 on Steam for like two bucks. That's the Ghostbusters sequel I need.

Pretty much. It's very similar to the script that Aykroyd and Ramis wrote for Ghostbusters 3, over 15 years ago.

Curiosity could keep it afloat at the box office enough to at least make sonys money back.

This whole drama surrounding this film and the trailers being weak make me wish we weren't getting any type of Ghostbusters film to be honest. They should have just left it alone.

Can ghosts procreate?

:funny::lmao::funny:

They can't be serious. That in the actual movie? Not a photoshop?
yes, that's in the actual film. Slimer steals the Ecto 1 and takes his girlfriend and some ghost buddies for a joy ride. It was ridiculous, and even more so without the CGI. Slimer and girl Slimer were played by people in black zentai suits and rubber puppet heads.

This is really nothing more than a Parody now.

I knew they were gonna have a female slimer but the hair? really? it looks totally stupid

So Slimer was a bald guy in his previous life, and not John Belushi like Dan Aykroyd originally said. Since we now see that hair, blows and lipstick survive into the afterlife.
