the New Invaders and the Ultimates

I really want to. I kind of want to draw WWI Union Jack and WWII Ultimate Cap fighting Germans of various time periods together, too.

What I meant was for someone like Union Jack (add pouches and pockets, like Ultimate Cap) But for any character it is possible to take away their superness by making them too Ultimate. Captain America I can see being brightly colored (red, white, blue) because he is a poster boy for the government. Or used to be, and now he is a symbol of hope.
But for someone like the Whizzer, why would he wear a bright yellow costume to fight Nazis in WWII? Or why would a covert agent like Union Jack wear bright colors like white and red?
Or why would Spider-Man wear red and blue instead of a totally black costume, and then you take away their superhero looks.

I have some ideas for Ultimate Whizzer (WWII era, and Modern).

Maybe Whizzer would wear yellow because the bright color would be sort of blinding at top speeds, or maybe the color yellow he used sort of allowed him to be almost invisible when he was at top speeds.

To put more Nazi eyes on him, since he can handle twenty guys shooting machine guns at him, instead of on the normal soldiers, who can't.
Or why would a covert agent like Union Jack wear bright colors like white and red?
Because he's still a representative of his government, which makes his wearing his namesake no different from Cap wearing the American flag's colors. The majority of UJ's costume has still always been black or dark blue anyway, so it still works as well as most spy costumes I've seen in other comics and video games and stuff.
Or why would Spider-Man wear red and blue instead of a totally black costume, and then you take away their superhero looks.
Because he's a geek who grew up reading about and admiring Captain America.

There are explanations for a lot of seemingly silly elements of comics that should be totally plausible if you can accept a guy swinging around on artificial webbing with inhuman strength and agility in the first place.

Good point about Whizzer, I hadn't thought about that. That is a really good idea.
I like it and will use that.

I am just saying its also reasonable to end up putting lots of characters in SWAT type armor instead of costumes. It was sort of a joke.

But thats great ideas for Whizzer and Union Jack.

Sure, it's reasonable for a lot of superheroes to wear standard law enforcement gear or spy gear or whatever. I just don't think it's the only argument. There are some valid reasons for the colorful costumes if you look at them the right way.

the Whizzer was state side during the war and fought crime and spies so he was needed to be brightly colored because the bad guys were not.

So he was never in the Invaders? I thought he fought along side Cap and Union Jack in WWII, like right by them.
I could be wrong since I don't know everything about the Whizzer.

from time to time he did but for most of the war he was state side with other heroes.

Well,
Here are my version of Ultimate Whizzer, the original WWII version
and the modern 2007 version. Right now they are roughs.

Ultimate Whizzer (WWII)
UltimateWhizzarWWIIB.jpg

Ultimate Whizzer, I figure, was connected to the super soldier program during WWII. After the government effectivly created Captain America they tried to make more super soldiers. Robert Frank was a test subject, only his serum didn't work the same. The serum made Mr. Frank super fast. During the war Frank, code named the Whizzer, helped out on the front lines and back at home with regular crimes.
Whizzer's uniform was a costumized US Military uniform, it has been made to be very form fitting by using bottuns.
His helmet is a fighter pilot's head gear, goggles, and ear phones. The ear phones cut down on the sound of wind as Whizzer moves fast, and it allows him to his orders and what not over the radio. Much like WWII Captain America, his clothing is really the only things customized for him, the rest (belt, googles, helmet, gloves, and whatnot) are all standard issue.

In 2007 Pietro Maximoff, AKA the Quicksilver, discovers that during WWII his father (Magneto)
or his mother maybe was saved by a super soldier known as "The Whizzer."
So Quicksilver dons a new costume and calls himself "The Whizzer", trying to honor the man who
saved his family from a Concentration Camp.
The yellow on his costume is reinforced with body armor for some protection against enemy fire. On his shoulders is the SHIELD logo.
So Quicksilver is the new Whizzer.

Tell me what you think:yay:

the whizzer as part of project super soldier was touched upon during has SPIDER-MAN TAS appearance don't forget his superseed DOESN'T GIVE OUT after using it for a while:ninja:

Nice work, Sean. I like how you subtly incorporated the "W" into the front of Pietro's Whizzer costume.

yeah, I thought the Mongus thing wouldn't work in the ultimate world. Plus almost everything in Ultimate Marvel leads back to Captain America and the super soldier project. And I got to thinking, SHIELD worked hard to recreate the super soldier serum while Cap was missing. But what about the time period where he was still around fighting for America during WWII? They would keep trying to recreate the results.
Also, I was going to mention this, Whizzer may have super speed but he wasn't as fast as Quicksilver is.

Thanks, I tried. I'm thinking the yellow parts would have some sort of body armor protection, like maybe they are a little bullet proof.
