I think that, if it's true, then it's bull****. I can see the fear of trying to balance all those characters in one film, but that's what the solo films are for! You don't need to intro. Wonder Woman in JLA, she has enough material to generate a good movie and should be properly set up before the crossover. Flash and Green Lantern are being taken care of, as well as Superman. I can't really speak for Batman, considering I have no idea if they are going to include Nolan's Batman or include a new Batman. But, regardless, Batman doesn't even need to be a MAJOR player, sort of like in the Justice League animated series. And Martian Manhunter is easy enough to intro in the JLA movie itself. If they had to cut out the 7th member, like Aquaman, then I'd be okay with that. But I am not okay with cutting out the 2 biggest members of the League and 2 of the biggest characters in all of comics.

I understand why you'd want to give more screen time to characters like Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, and Manhunter in one film, they're probably really unsure how these characters would do solo. But not having Superman or Batman in it at all just doesn't make sense to me. Since this is still in the early stages, it could be changed. Who knows if this movie will actually happen. :o

I think the main 5 would work just fine. MM and Aquaman would be awesome but the main 5 could suffice.

But without Nolan, WB/DC don't have the balls to roll out more DC movies after the Dark Knight.

Catch 22?

^Superman was all blue, no red boots. There were small red details in the fabric of the costume.

Martian Manhunter was the actor in prosthetics and was going to be CGI when he fought and flew.

Could you tell us what SUPERMAN's "S" symbol looked like?

Thanks! :yay:

The fact that some people believe this is beyond me.

The second I scanned the article and saw that their was no official confirmation whatsoever, I said "This is utter bull****."

No worries :yay: When you said that the suit was ALL blue, I thought you meant the "S" symbol was, too! :woot:

Well, what I was told was that it was all blue but there was red Kryptonian lettering etched into the fabric.

GREAT! Now the fanboys are gonna blame Geoff Johns for this!

^ More like Nolan.

Yeah,if anyone,it's Nolan.
Well, they'd be idiots. I don't know why fans expect some sort of cameo or off-hand reference to other heroes when it's absolutely unnecessary. It adds nothing to the movie and has little worthwhile value.

If they team-up, they team-up. Let it happen naturally. Forcing it is just a cheap tactic to make fanboys cream their pants.

I don't believe this new rumour either. It sounds like a rushed idea to speed up a JL movie, which kind of goes against the point of having a JL movie or building up a shared universe.

Okay, guys. Does anyone see that article and not realize it's about to become false very, very soon? It is total BS for these 3 reasons:

1) When you read that article, did you guys get a sense of nostalgia? I ask that because for me it sounded similar to the news on JLA back in '07 (or was it '08, who knows). Which makes me believe this is actually old news that someone took and redid and reposted to make it new. Already, I'm dreading at the thought that we're going to hear this at CBR, Superman Homepage, etc until it is proven false, mainly because it really is. And more of that can be found below;

2) The idea of not having Superman nor Batman, but having Green Lantern makes no sense. News broke out recently over a GL2 & 3 already in the works, and being developed when GL1 is relased. Already, that news makes it feel unbelieveble since now and then could change and have effects in the future. But back on this; they are not going to have two characters that we would want to see badly and greatly on a JLA, but will do so to someone whose film isn't even out yet? If Marvel's Avengers and the upcoming Expendables has done anything already, it's that you can take big stars and big characters together and make it work. WB doesn't want to, or wouldn't even, do that?!

3) DCE, and even WB, from the very beginning on these projects, have officially stated that its solo films first, then JLA. So with that in mind, wouldn't this be the opposite of their plans? Their official, "we f***ed up on JLA so let's not do that again", plans!!!

When you put all this together, there is no way that news is true. It sounds like the JLA news back when the Avengers film plans first hit the webs back then. It is all false, and it will be proven soon. Hopefully very, very, soon.

I'd say dont' worry about the rumor. It's too early in the game.

Worry about the solo movies first, in which none have a release date.

Wow... this post actually made me feel a lot better - Thank you! :woot: I totally agree and I think that all signs point to this (unfortunate) rumor as being completely false; it just doesn't make sense for them to want to do this. WB/DC doesn't wanna make the same mistake AGAIN...

...do they?

Well, this rumor makes kind of sense to me. Think about it. I don't see Christian Bale playing Batman in a JLA movie without Nolan, so they have to reintroduce Batman after Batman 3 is over.

Nolan's stated that Superman, like his Batman series, will stand alone. Now, that might change in the future, but not with the first film. That first film has to own critically and on the box office front before they move forward with anything Superman.

Ultimately, having Nolan do your two biggest pieces of the puzzles has put WB/DC in a slight situation. They want to get DC off the ground in a major way but they may have to wait until Nolan's done. Why not do a JLA movie without the two big guns...at least for one movie until we get a better understanding of whether or not Christian will participate in something like that or whether or not Nolan will allow Superman to play ball with the others.

Nolan's put them in a bind with this statements about Batman and Superman...so I don't see this rumor as false...just yet.

I can see them just recasting Batman (or Superman) ala "THE MARK RUFFALO/DON CHEADLE effect".

Or Bale and whoever plays Superman can play the characters ala a different version of the characters. Kinda like how Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy always voices Batman and Joker in different incarnations of their respected characters.

EIther way, I can't see them doing Justice League without acknowledging the big two. Just can't. Even a cameo would do.

Campbell has come out stating GL is it's own universe as well and that the series is not part of some grand build up of films. The rumour is bollocks.
Even a cameo would do.

No it wouldn't.

Yup, Campbell said that at Comic Con.

The ONLY way I think they can do Justice League is the far fetched rumor of...the multi-verse.

Heck, if The Avengers movie might have Skulls or the Infinite Gauntlet (both over the top comic booky), then why not?

I've heard the multi-verse rumour before, I don't know how you make that work, it seems like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. The phrase 'just get a talented writer' will no doubt be the first thought that comes to the mind to many but I don't think it's that simple.

we'll see what happens. I don't really care for a Justice League movie or an Avengers film for that matter. I'll watch them, but they'll most likely be just fan service and nothing else. I'm keeping an open mind though.

Though I learn towards Justice League due to my bias. If Avengers could have Wolverine or Spider-Man, I would change my mind. That's not gonna happen.

Another idea is just do a CGI Justice League ala Alex Ross style.
