So how come their drawing Connor like he's just another blonde guy? I mean, he's 1/4 asian, 1/4 black, and 1/2 white, you know? I'm not being picky, I'm just looking for consitency... he's supposed to have tan skin and asian eyes, and ollie's blonde hair...

Where are they drawing him like just another blonde guy? Derec Donovan drew him perfectly in his recent mini, Connor Hawke: Dragon's Blood.

Meh, lots of artists get him wrong. Maybe Siqueira is one of the many artists who can barely draw faces at all, let alone different ones for different ethnicities.

I doubt that coolness had much to do it with and rather it was practically the only way to physically clue you in that he was Ollie's son since his other features were so different.

there's a pretty good discussion between dinah and babara in the latest issue of BoP about whether dinah should marry ollie. basically, babs said everything corp has said on the topic and dinah was like "it's worth the risk". at least it's being addressed.

one of these days a writer will realize this debate over which hair color should connor have..it should probably be black due to his heritage and the dominant traits from his mother...and the writer and his artist will make a little tease for the readers where like connor is in the bathroom and on his counter will be sitting like a used blonde hair dye box or somthing..

It would be a retcon, then. When he was in the monastery and his head was almost shaved the "shadow" on his head was blond as are his eyebrows.

My list of favorite black DC heroes. It's a fairly short list. It basically consists of Vixen, Cyborg, Mr. Terrific, and Steel. And now Connor, since I've always liked that guy.

I can believe his hair is blonde, but it shouldn't be that blonde. I know a guy who's half white and half Asian, but his hair is naturally red. I've known a couple of half black/half white girls with natural dark blonde/light brown hair.

I'd imagine Connor should have dirty blonde hair, if anything. I could accept colorists suddenly giving him darker yellow hair. Hell, some natural blondes' hair grows darker as they get older, anyway.

Dude, it's New Earth; the old canon no longer applies. If a post-IC comic is published saying Shado is Connor's mother, Shado is Connor's mother on New Earth. Now we can all accuse DC of supporting incest with Dragon's Blood.

Not with that combination, no.... blond hair is a recessive trait... that means in order to get it... you have to have the gene from both parents. The only way that could happen is if his mother was at least a small percentage white.

yeah, i thought it said that too, but i figured either i misread it or they worded it wrong. it was when babs was going down the list of ollie's indiscretions with the ladies and i thought maybe babs was talking about two separate events, the first being shado raping ollie and the second being connor's mom. i thought simone had a pretty decent grasp on the dcu, so she couldn't have made that mistake. i hope not, anyway. i don't have the issue in front of me. can you post the page or the dialog?
