I rather liked Dinah and Doctor Mid-Nite, myself.

They were okay. And it wouldn't slowly kill me inside to see them begin a relationship, the way every panel of Ollie/Dinah does.

It gives me rage of the Brooklyn variety :cmad:

This issue changes the Arrow family forever! As Electrocutioner awaits his trial for his part in the destruction of Star City, Roy Harper needs to settle the score for the sake of his dead daughter. Only one person stands in his way: his mentor Green Arrow! Major ramifications for the rest of the DCU start here!

What's up with Connor now, anyway? I heard he was an amnesiac who remembered how to fight and pretty much nothing else or something like that.

Krul fixed that. Blackest Night restored his memories and he's back to kicking ass.

However, his beliefs are starting to lapse due to Blackest Night and Cry for Justice and he basically tells Ollie to man up himself instead of someone forcing him to do it like always over his killing spree.

I don't understand why he still can't use a bow if his memories are back. And oh look, he's apparently no longer a Buddhist either.

List of things that will make me care less about the arrow family -> ever growing.

Granted, Connor's probably the one single member of the family that's going to come out of all this the best, but that's not really saying much.

He is a better fighter than archer. But he can go back to using a bow.

Roy's a better archer than fighter. That doesn't mean he goes into the field without arms.

HA.

It's not like Connor was some kind of gimp with the bow, he was still better than 99% of humans on the planet. If his arrow skills are back then why wouldn't he be using it?

Generally I don't much care for DC, and I flat out dislike (strongly) green arrow. As was so aptly put, he's just an aging guy in green spandex. However, reading the finale of cry for justice along with the followup issues that have shown him go lethal, I finally started liking the character.
BUT, just now as I came on to post this, I saw the upcoming cover with red arrow already having the obligatory cybernetic arm, and with the caption saying that electrocutioner apparently will not be dying in the next green arrow issue, and that brings me back to a level of not much caring. I'll probably check out another issue or two, but they'll have to impress me.

sigh......robo arms.

if anyone other than ollie features as GA in this book, im dropping it.

Bruce Wayne returns and takes up the GA mantle instead of Batman. Mark my words! :awesome:

I real don't like the death of Roys daughter plot device its cheap and tasteless. Looks like his going back to being a drug addict again as well. His starting to give Daredevil a run for agnst terrible stuff happens to me throne.

He has quite a lengthy road ahead of him if he wishes to be at Daredevil's level of angst.

And I am in agreement with you over the recent plot development with his daughter. It is exceedingly tasteless

Roy doesn't need drugs. What he needs is some of that "I know how you feel" sex from Donna.

Roy's on las drogas again?

I'm afraid so. Prescription pain killers this time.

Whether this will lead to him selling out, becoming a superhero in Las Vegas, getting fat and eventually dying on the toilet none of us can yet know for sure. But I would put hard cash on it

It's the drug thing that bothers me about Roy's situation. I don't like old storylines being rehashed. Falling back on the drug thing seems like a cheap, no-imagination-required plot point.

Lian's death itself didn't bother me so much as the emotional impact being weak did. Ollie's reaction felt wrong and Roy's felt unsatisfying.

I actually liked him losing his arm. Becoming a carbon copy was terrible for his character. I much preferred him as Arsenal, the man who could turn anything into a weapon. My first exposure to him was in the background to an issue of the World War III storyline in JLA and he used Plastic Man's (it may have been Elongated Man's) body to slingshot something he picked up off the street into some random supervillain, and I thought that was pretty cool.

So, in all, I think this storyline has been good for Roy and bad for Ollie.

The drug thing doesn't bother me at all. I've talked to and read about former drug addicts who say that still think about it almost everyday and the temptation is still there.

It shouldn't be surprising at all that Roy is being tempted right now with the stress related to the destruction of his home, the death of his daughter, and the loss of his arm. Especially since he has easy access to prescription pain killers which are very addictive to begin with.

I don't mind it as a plot point. It certainly makes sense for the death of a child to make a former addict fall off the wagon.
