i've heard wave 3 is hitting specialty shops, but any word of ML3 hitting dept stores yet?

It seems bad that the minimates have more articulation than the 3 & 3/4 Chitauri figures. :csad:

Batman: Knightfall Vol. 3
Batman: A Death in the Family

Dark knight themed hot wheels set from my dad

came with
the tumbler
a joker themed car
gotham city police car and van
and a batchopper

The newest wave of MLs, only just released. "Epic Heroes," I think is what it's titled. I heard the wave was put together at kind of the last minute, which is why it doesn't have a BAF, and I think that Iron Man might be the only one that's not a rerelease (Dr. Doom) or a retool or repaint (all the other figures in the wave).

EDIT: I've since bought the Dr. Doom in that wave. As I said, it's a rerelease of this Doom, but I've wanted a replacement for my early Series 2 Doom for a while now. I'm now just using my old Doom as a Doombot.

The Hulk.
I think it's some jet thrust to put under Iron Man for flight

no, the new wave of legends has no BAF because of all the weapons/accessories they've stated that for months now.. and no, moonstar, comic blade, and usagent have never had figs either... but most legends are made with re-tooled parts anyway..

we first new of and saw blade, usagent, punisher, and mystique (or heard of them) at toyfair in january

If by "all the weapons/accessories," you mean the small stands that were simply copied from the Avengers toyline, then yes. The only figure in the new wave that has a slightly unusually large supply of accessories is the Punisher and his guns. The other figures either have a couple small bits and pieces (the standard fare, like US Agent's handgun and shield) or nothing at all, except an Avengers stand. Such is the case for Iron Man and Doom. And those stands could've been substituted for something more substantial, but they weren't, leading many to believe that the line's assembly was a bit rushed out the door.

There's not a large amount of anything spread across the wave that requires the lack of any sort of BAF piece to compensate. Blade's not exactly coming with a motorcycle to make up for the lack of a BAF, if you know what I mean.

When did I say that they had?

So what? I'm not disputing that, I was just stating a point regarding that particular Iron Man compared to the rest of the wave.

nope. Moonstar/Mystique and Blade/Punisher come with a slew... and because of them (and the fact they didn't want them to not come with a BAF piece) the idea was scratched. though.. we also don't know if they were also just trying to pull away from the BAF angle... we're getting tiny baf's in wave 4 that .. apparently only take 3 figures to build

i do think however.. Ironman was possibly a last minute additions. his proto was shown in an ironman toy wave.. and was later modified to this.

Not really. A couple more guns than usual (actually, a pretty standard amount of firearms for Frank). That does not equal a "slew" in my book.

standard since when? Toybiz?

plastic has unfortunately gone up quite alot since then... and he comes with more guns than the only other Punisher hasbro has produced.

So if the cost of manufacturing so many guns outweighs the cost of producing a BAF, why do it? Would completionist collectors looking to complete their BAFs not be more financially lucrative than the decision to copy the Avengers stands and give Mystique extra guns? If the line was somewhat rushed, however, then I'd understand the decision.

Using existing molds for guns and Avengers stands is just a quick and easy solution to give certain figures some any kind of accessories on short notice, which is where I can see the rumors of the wave being rushed out the door originating, even if the prototypes have been around for a while.

Im just looking at the facts man. Its what they said, and wave 3 has been in plans for almost a year.... That's all we have to go on. Maybe the baf fell through?

Im also on fwoosh often, and this is the first I've heard of rushed rumors
