My entertainment earth gotg box set shipped . Should be here by thursday.

that would be amazing

Big tip though... have your own "man cave" you have a kid at home now too.. so i'd do what i did... keep everything high up off the ground (hopefully you have carpet too incase you get a jumper.

but yea.. we put shelves up around the room, kept everything high off the ground and spread out... and it gives areally nice flow to the room (ikea sells shelves dirt cheap)

I know some people who have like a wall of bookshelves.. filed with figures.. and that's fine if that's the only space you have.. but my personal opinion? it's a cluster and an eye-sore.. it does't let you really focus on the figures you have. there's just too much to look at.. its very busy.

I themed basically each shelf differently for displays, ive got an avengers shelf, a spidey shelf, an X-men shelf, F4/cosmic, asgard, hulk (which bleeds into FA avengers, WWII, hydra and aim), a SHIELD shelf, and then a really random "modern" shelf.. basically a place where i have figures and have no place to put them... I may have to take it down for a Dr. Strange shelf.. but there's just certain people i really like and would hate to put in storage.. (like the new wasp) (my avengers display uses the mini wasp from the MU line)

also, i love ikea's light bars.. they really add something "professional" to it imo.. and they arn't all that expensive either.

wait, you have a kid too? jesus i've been gone too long

Just got my Entertainment Earth Guardians of the Galaxy box set in.

Book shelves are fine, as long as, you're not trying to cram everything in one space. Couple book shelves and regular shelves can keep the room looking clean. It's just how you use your space.

Latest pick ups:
Marvel legends Grim a Reaper - replaced the original because his arm fell off. Antman wave complete.
DC Collectibles Arkham Knight Batman

sometimes it really depends on the book shelves...

These look insanely busy...

These are better...

I love these shelves and the lighting... but the display is really boring, Half of me also thinks it looks insanely cluttered, but the bookshelves being thick distract from it quite a bit

this too looks nice, the thick white cabinet doors help break up the busy-ness https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/93/63/62/936362477582c067b67f478b1209a612.jpg

I think for me it's all about giving the eye a break... when you have walls of symmetrical shelving via glass case or bookshelves with figures that are so bright and colorful you can't give your eyes a break... everything blends in.. and you can't really get a good look at anything because it's like visual ADD. the stagnant repetition really doesn't allow your collection to breath or enable the ability to show case each figure. It's certainly hard to show off everyone if you have a big collection, but this is why i think posing helps, and why I prefer non-repetitive shelving, especially wall shelving if you can get it up off the ground. (I use our office as guest room as well (via air-mattress) so it's also less "freaky" for your friends if they look up in the bed and just see the bottoms of white shelves.. than 1000 figures staring at them lol

it's all personal preference though, i know people like things ordered and structured.. and some (very few) have called my room busy... but I don't think so.. I think i have clear devoted sections for every display.. and it nicely shows off nearly every figure... (plus their all posed which also helps with that.)

That's why I said it all depends on how you use your space. Those book shelves are perfectly fine and capable of serving their purpose, but those pics are showing them over stuffed/filled with what the owner wants to display. Both those pics look kind of cluttered just simply because it looks like the owner wants to display his/their collections in one designated area. The bigger pieces should probably be placed on actual wall shelves just because an item that big looks squeezed in those bookcases. Just better portion size/distribution and they wouldn't look to bad.

Dad bought this and couldn't "follow it" lol so he gave it to me
