The New Ultimate DC RPG: Sign-Up/OOC Thread

Finally caught up with what I've missed over the past few days. I'll run with the Atom's solution and message for Superman, but it'll take a couple of posts for it to reach him since sound doesn't travel in space and I would need to get Clark back in our atmosphere before he'd be able to hear it.

Just so ya all know, Victor is gonna stay in the food vault in the cafeteria until this thing clears out

Why yes, I do have an extraordinarily large supply of Bane pictures that I've obsessively scanned from my comics and uploaded to photobucket, and love to put to good use. :awesome::hrt:

What's that picture where Bane seems to have weaponry for a hand from?

The first and last pics of Bane holding a gun are from Bane of the Demon, where he bangs Talia, cuts a swath through the League of Assassins, and then replaces Batman as Ra's' heir.

The pic with the gunshots ricocheting off the ground is from the Tabula Rasa storyarc, way back in the old Batman: Gotham Knights book.

. Application .

. THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG .
Character Application

.Screen name: J'adore

.Character you wish to portray:
Leslie Willis

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Walking The Line

.Powers and physical attributes:
Has the ability to generate and propel charges electricity ranging from minor to fatal voltage. Can do everything from traveling on electricity lines to blasting it at full force. She can also store electricity, aswell as control the objects that our powered by electricity, by increasing the voltage until it malfunctions.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Leslie Willis. Born to biker chick turned armed criminal, Shiela Willis. Leslie's father was unknown, but the only thing she remembers her mother telling her is that he had an 'electric touch'.

At the age of four, Leslie's mother was reported dead, from severe electrocution and burns to the body. Almost Immediately, Leslie was slung into a Foster Home, with various other abounded kids. From time to time a young chinese woman would visit Leslie, telling Leslie that she was her 'Social Worker' and would help Leslie find new parents. She would sit at the home for ours, monitioring every move that Leslie made. If she showed any sign of odd behaviour, she would pluck Leslie out of the crowd and make Leslie become isolated from the rest of the kids.

This life continued for Leslie, until she was 18 and old enough to live by herself. Being alone and isolated for most of her lives, the only real person she felt comftorable with was her old social worker. After trying to track her down and failing, Leslie soon befriended radio DJ Etta Candy and the two girls soon became best friends. Etta's behaviour became increasingly suspicious, causing Leslie to investiage into Etta's life. She was actually an undercover police officer, who went under the disguise of a wild radio DJ in order to get more information on Leslie's untracable father. Disgusted by her betrayal, Leslie left the radio and Etta for good. In seeking revenge, Leslie decided to try and break-up the radio by cutting it's wires which lead to the transmitters. Following them to the outside alleyway where rain had erupted, Leslie touched the bare wires, giving her the shock of her life.

Her powers were unleashed as he absorbed the electricity and the whole radio station's power was shut down. At first, Leslie was scared and afraid of her new powers, but after using them to steal a few cars and steal some petty cash, she became more and more like her mother. Until one day she was approached by the young chinese woman who was once her social worker, her name Jessica Midnight.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I love her abilities and her annoyance towards superheroes. She had great potential in DC comics but was never expanded, so I wish to do that myself.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: She wont be the Leslie you see in the comics or the animated show, she'll infact be closley tied in with a secret organisation soon to be revealed.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: An electric touch?

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

It was unusual weather for the streets of Metropolis. But, Leslie Willis enjoyed the crackle of lightning and thunder, letting her bold blonde hair soak up the rain and her skin feel the smooth droplets fall onto her pale cheeks. Sticking her long, thin hands into her neon blue trench coat, Leslie looked straight ahead, watching the busy people of Metropolis rush to catch a taxi. She smirked to herself, shaking her head slightly, causing her wet hair to release small droplets, falling onto her shoulders.

She walked straight passed the Daily Planet, her eyes fixed at a small grey apartment block in her sight. It seemed abounded and damp, but that is where she had been arranged to meet her 'mysterious follower', as Leslie called her. A woman had been phoning Leslie for the pass week, managing to get hold of her despite Leslie stealing and using a different phone every day. This woman was persistant and knew everything about Ms Willis, from birth to the current date. Being her usual self, Leslie was of course suspicious and accepted the woman's request to meet up. Leslie had an 'offer' in store for her, one that she couldn't refuse.

Running quickly over to the large, black door of the damp apartment block, Leslie ran her hand through her soaked hair, before turning towards the buzzer. Pulling out a wet and scrunched up piece of paper from her coat pockets, she looked carefully at the inked number. Moving her middle finger over to the buzzer, her sharp, dark blue nails pressed down on the button which read 'No.5'.

BUZZZ. CLICK.

The sound of Leslie's sharp electric blue stilettoes echoed through out the cold, damp staircase. She seemed to be alone, sliding her hand up the banister as she jolted up the stair case, up to the third floor. She soon faced the dark green door, that had the silver number '5' carved into the upper half of the door. Leslie looked over, down to the lock. It was broken. Gently pushing the door open, Leslie found a dark room, with a silver table placed in the middle of it. There, lay scattered peices of paper, and behind the table stood a long glass window, that over looked most of Metropolis.

"Well, long time no see,"

.Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype?: Yep.

I believe Byrd introduced Livewire in a Flash post, but I'm pretty sure it was as a guy, which wouldn't interfere with this app.

As far as I know, Leslie hasn't been introduced, so I'll give you the go ahead.

Approved.

Thanks :)

I can change Kristen Bell if you want.

EDIT: Oh and one more thing, has Checkmate been introduced yet?

Hey, Bryd? Didn't MB establish that Phillip Wayne was Bruce's uncle? And that his father was Bruce Wayne Sr.?

Checkmate has not, but Cadmus has.

Also, regarding the Kristen Bell thing - we all cast our characters and use their pictures in the IC thread as fun, but no one really "owns" that actor/actress' image for a specific RPG. In theory, everyone could use, say, Christian Bale as their choice for a male character - there's no rule against it. I think the reason people don't do it is to keep things less confusing. So, in other words, it's up to you. ;)

Oh, I get it. Well, I'll make it less confusing by not using Bell, I have others in store anyway

No, Bruce's father was still Thomas Wayne. His grandfather was Bruce Wayne Sr. When Bruce inherited his fortune, he covered up his parents' murder to avoid suspicion of being Batman by making it seem Phillip Wayne was his father.

Byrd and I hashed it out over MSN. He's good.

Change Kristen Bell? Hell, I'd like to propose an amendment to make her play every female character. She'd look real good in a Supergirl outfit...

EDIT: So glad the Hype finally solved its server problem once and for all.
