The "Ultimate DC Universe" RPG, Season 3.0: Sign-Up/OOC Thread

**** all ya'll for having this debate while I go see a movie.

:csad:

I still would be interested in playing Stroke and GA in the reboot.

So that's a vote for the reboot or against it?

Or Neutral, because I have that as an option on my list count, too.

Seeing as how I helped you a bit when you had the initial idea, yeah.

Wow, this thread really jumped forward a number of pages since yesterday.
That could work. But I'd like to make sure that we have active players for the Big Three and any major villains, because one of the fatal flaws so far has been people getting bogged down waiting for other people to post.
I've been here this whole time, just waiting for someone to step up and move the current JLA story forward. I'd do it myself if I had any idea of the road that our characters are supposed to be on, and just fighting robots (basically just copy&pasting Andy's last WW post) won't really help to move the plot forward (I know how our characters are supposed to get back to Earth, team up to fight Despero, and form the JLA at last, but everything between now and those plotpoints in the story seems to be a blank for me and (apparently) the other players ). That said, I'd be more than eager to apply to continue playing Supes after a reboot. I mean, I love the character and his supporting cast and villains, and had a number of plans to further flesh out his Ultimate mythology, which I'd give anything not to see go to waste. I'd try to keep some of Supe's history, like his involvement with Blackrock and Neutron, where I could just link to the individual posts when referencing those events.

* Players would be encouraged to try drastic new things, should they desired. One of the biggest complaints I ever received was that characters were too similar to the regular DC continuity. That would need to change. Ultimate Comics means new, contemporary. So we would need to show that. Creativity would be a must, for approval.

That's what I've always been thinking. Everything else sounds good but this I think is uber important.

Jeez, you go out of town for a couple of days, and look what happens.

For the record, I'd be up for a reboot, just because at the current rate, I rather doubt we'd ever get to the ridiculously complicated stuff MB and I had been talking about. I'll save it for fanfic or something.

Plus, I'm really looking forward to playing a more pro-active Luthor, rather than having him spend the whole season sitting at his desk, twiddling his thumbs and foreshadowing stuff while the heroes are off fighting some other villain. If I get Lex again, you guys are boned.

With Andy's imput, that brings the total in favor of the reboot up to a rather staggering twelve. Those for the Crisis to go through first, zero. And finally, the neutral side, which composes solely of myself and Eddie Brock.

Reboot it is.

I'll begin work on a new OOC thread tonight, hoping to get it running at the beginning of this week.

I'll have a clearer estimate closer to the finished product.

Hopefully, an IC thread isn't out of the question by Friday, at the earliest.

I actually underestimated myself - for as we speak, I'm nearly done with it.

But, given I want to give people the chance to pre-write their applications, I'm going to post it tomorrow instead of today. I'll be sending out the app format through PM's ahead of time, so you'll all get it before then.

That's probably the fairest way to do it.

Alrighty. Apps sent. If I missed ya or you didn't get your PM, let me know.

The OOC thread better be up at midnite exactly. :cmad:
