Well, I hate to say it, but I'm dropping Mordru. I had ideas, but, like Amazo, I just can't put proverbial pen to paper. :csad::cmad:
Now I know what SF felt like going through characters the way he did. :o

I will try to find a 3rd character I can work with though. Have one in mind, so expect an app and brief back story up in a bit.

Ultimate Fables, A Brief History ~

Existing in a separate dimension are all the characters of folklore and the myths. Called the Homelands, this mythical place is a virtually endless land of vast landscapes, brimming with magic and wonder. But the Fables world is suddenly turned on it's head as a massive army of storybook monsters arrive from across the Western Sea and begin conquering the Homelands. Led by a being known as the Adversary, the evil Empire seems unstoppable. The Fables band together, mounting what they can for a defensive, but their army is quickly wiped out. As the Adversary's armies march forward rounding up Fables as slaves and killing the rest, the Fables come to a drastic conclusion. They have to leave the Homelands behind.

Using the powers of the surviving warlocks and witches, the Fables create hidden portals across the Homelands. Portals that lead to the our reality. One by one they flee the Homelands, taking refuge in a small, closely-guarded community in New York City they call Fabletown. Run by Mayor King Cole, the Fables of Fabletown live in peace with the world around them, governing themselves and staying hidden by powerful magicks.

.Screen name: Johnny Blaze

.Character you wish to portray: Bigby Wolf

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Hero

.Powers and physical attributes: In his wolf form, Bigby is massive, shown to be considerably taller than a human being, and at times substantially larger that that as well. In this form, he can carry people with no apparent stress and is a formidable fighter. All other wolves defer to him and call him "The Lord of Wolves". His mixed ancestry gives him the ability to blow massive gusts of wind (the "huff 'n' puff" of the Three Little Pigs story) and can also briefly command local winds to do his bidding. Bigby can drown but he is able to hold his breath for an extremely long time; it has been shown that he can hold his breath for three weeks straight. He also swam across the Bering Strait without getting cold (he even referred to it as "an enjoyable swim.") Every one of his senses is far above the normal human ability. He is also extremely quick to heal, and cannot be killed by conventional weapons. He can, however, be slain by silver or fire. As a Fable, he does not age.

In addition to his wolf and human forms, Bigby can enter an intermediate form similar to the wolfman of legend. In this form he possesses great strength, rapid healing, and the claws and teeth of a wolf.

Because of his extraordinary senses, Bigby is able to pick up on the emotions of thousands of nearby strangers, to the extent that he smokes cigarettes constantly in order to drown them out. The only one whom he cannot drown out, or tune out, is Snow White. Due to his rapid hair growth, he has to shave several times a day.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it):

Bigby Wolf, aka the Big Bad Wolf, is a powerful and ancient Fable. Known for his vicious demeanor and insatiable appetite for flesh, Bigby is one of the most feared Fables in existence.
The son of the North Wind, Bigby was a powerful terror since birth, hunting and killing anything in his father's kingdom. Displeased with his son's animalistic nature, the North Wind exiled him to the deep forests of the Homelands to live as he acted.
Here Bigby's reign of terror began with events such as the hunting and killing of the three pigs, to the stalking of Red Riding Hood. For centuries, Bigby preyed upon those foolish enough to enter his domain, devouring taunting them and instilling true fear before devouring them whole. All the while, Bigby felt nothing but pain and anger towards his father whom abandoned him. One day, the Big Bad Wolf was approached by an agent of the Adversary with an offer: join forces with his armies and be granted great gifts and riches beyond his wildest dreams. Bigby accepted, but refused the wealth. All he wanted was the chance to kill his father who cast him out centuries ago.

Given the ability to transform into a man, Bigby became a notorious huntsman for the Adversary, rounding up hundreds of Fables and slaughtering countless others. All the while he did his job with the notion that, one day, he'd sink his teeth into the North Wind's neck. One day though, all that changed. Shadowing a group of Fable refugees who were attempting to flee, Bigby caught the sight of Snow White. Her beauty and scent were intoxicating to Bigby, and his icy heart slowly began to thaw. He followed Snow White's group along their way, even going out of his way to kill game for them, placing it along their path to find so they wouldn't starve.

One day, Snow White and her fellow Fables were ambushed by the Adversary's legions. Caught in a crisis of conscious that he never thought he'd ever have to worry about, Bigby chose to break his ties with the Adversary and saved the Fables. Despite saving their lives, the Fables were terrified of him and wanted nothing to do with Bigby, the Adversary's hunter. Bigby was silently cursing himself for being so stupid when Snow White walked up to him and smiled. Thanking him for what he did, she kissed him on the top of his head before running off, leading the surviving refugees to the nearby portal.

No longer driven by hate and anger, Bigby went about hunting down and killing the Adversary's soldiers wherever he found them and helping hundreds of Fables to escape the Homelands. He became a terror to the enemy, the unseen marauder who could strike from anywhere and at anytime. Even the Big Bad Wolf was unable to help stem the tide of the Adversary's legions, and Bigby was forced on the run. Not knowing the location of the hidden Fable portals, Bigby resigned himself to his imminent demise, determined to take as many of the Adversary's troops down with him.

It was then that a young blond man dressed in blue appeared before him. Introducing himself as Boy Blue, the Fable told Bigby that he had made up for his crimes against his own kind enough to be allowed a passage to freedom. If he accepted, he would be given a fresh start in Fabletown as the Sheriff and Chief of Intelligence. Bigby first was skeptical of the offer, even ready to turn it down due to feeling that he didn't deserve it. But when Blue said that it was from Snow White, Bigby eventually accepted. Following Boy Blue to the portal, Bigby escaped to the Mundane World.

Now the sheriff of Fabletown, Bigby is in charge of all problems in the small, tight-nit community, as well as the extensive intelligence network that the Fables have set up around the globe, as well as the Homelands. Bigby has slowly gained the respect of his fellow Fables whom he polices with an fair brand of justice, though many are still fearful of him given his past as a murderous monster.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I'm a colossal Fables fan, and this is probably the only chance I'll ever get to bring them into an RPG.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: Little tweaks in the origin, such as this Bigby being a agent of the Adversary originally, and his falling out with his father.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Fables, and experience in RPing.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

Bigby took a drag from his smoke as he squinted in the sunlight. A cool breeze was blowing in from the North, dancing across the tree branches of the surrounding wood and sending a menagerie of scents Bigby's way. He took another puff of his smoke, exhaling through his nose as he tried to drown the smells out.

Shutting the car door behind him, Bigby started walked, hands in his coat pockets, towards the jittery person in the large green field ahead of him.

"Sheriff! Sheriff! Over here", the lanky man waved excitedly.

Bigby rolled his eyes and sighed as he came up to the lanky man.

"Calm down, Scarecrow. Tell me what happened", he asked as he flicked his cigarette out and reached in his coat pocket to pull out a new one.

"I was-I mean I-oh jeez", the Scarecrow stammered, a grave look on his face.

"Easy, Straw Man", Bigby growled.
"Settle it down and spit it out. What. Happened."

The Scarecrow swallowed the knot in his throat and started to relax a bit.
"I...I was going for my morning walk through the corn fields. They help calm me down, you know. I find the husks very therapeutic and-"

"Get to it already!"

"Sorry. I was walking through the cornfield when I saw a bunch of buzzards circling in the air. I was curious, so I went to investigate."

"That's when I saw it", he whimpered.
"His dead body..."

Sweet. Bigby there might make for some good interaction with Ultimate Wonder Woman, since she's connected to all myths and legends.

Right on. After the opening arc I got cooked up, I'm all for some interacting with the rest of the UDCU. Was even planning on having Fate make a guest appearance at some point.

Didn't think that post would be that long. :o
Was originally intended to be split into two posts, but I just couldn't stop writing. I guess that's a good thing though.

Write (or I guess in this case type) until your fingers fall off Blaze. It's good for you. Before I go to the trouble of typing a sample post, Mister Miracle hasn't been used before has he?

If my fingers fall off, how will I be able to smoke my pot then? Or hold a beer? :csad:

And, no, he's yet to make an appearance.

All you need is a straw for the beer and pot is overrated. I smoked a blunt once and just fell asleep afterwards.

I can't understand the appeal, but different strokes for different folks.

If it was your first time, and it was some really good ****, I can see that. Especially if there's only a few heads pulling off it.

As for it being overrated, all I have to saw to that is "**** you." :cmad: :yay::huh:

I can spot one thing that would improve if you'd put the joints down. :o

Hey, someone's gotta be an advocate for your health. I think I'm going to go dig up an old anti drug PSA. Something with that foxy Nancy Reagan in it.

Sorry about the slight bunny, cats. Hope you don't mind.

THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG .
Character Application

.Screen name: Trigger

.Character you wish to portray: Mister Miracle (Scott Free)

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?:
Walking the Line

.Powers and physical attributes: Mister Miracle is a trained gymnast and has a knack for escaping from difficult situations. In addition he is also trained in the use of small and heavy fire arms and boasts above human strength and agility. Mister Miracle also uses a Father Box to communicate with his squad mates and superiors. The Father Box also keeps watch of Scott’s current condition and gives him access to any necessary data.

.Origin and back story (as you see it): Scott Free was born in a small town somewhere in Iowa to Dr. Isaiah Free and his wife Avia. His parents had many hopes for the young infant. They wanted him to be a doctor like his father or become a painter like his mother. All that changed when they were fatally hit by a drunk driver. Instead he has become a soldier. He is a faceless warrior among many in the Novus Deus program. He and many other young orphans were gathered from across the country to become skilled mercenaries for hire by Genesis Corporations. As a child he’s been told not to question his employer, not to stray from his mission, and most importantly to never act out of line. However Scott can’t help, but yearn for more. Scott wants a life outside the shadowy halls of Genisis corporation’s buildings. However what prices will he pay to regain his freedom? What secrets will he uncover in the process?

.The burning question - Why this character?: I wanted to pick someone that hasn’t been used but has a rich background full of great characters and stories. I couldn’t decide who to choose until I saw a copy of an anthology book filled with stories with characters from the New Gods Universe.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: As I hinted in character’s back story, I will be taking a slightly more “realistic” approach on the New Gods Universe. The stories with my Mister Miracle will be more about the meaningful character interaction, but I will still try to incorporate the more fantastical characters in his universe in interesting ways that suit the more 21st concepts that the Ultimate Dc is based off of.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: Hopefully I will bring some good story telling and maybe a sense of humor? I won’t lie, I haven’t thought too far outside of my first introductory arc so it’s hard to say exactly where the story will go. I want to really play with themes of morality and family.

“P-please! I have a family! I-I can pay you double whatever they’ve offered you…!”

POP

People think that a gunshot is a loud bang, but it isn’t. When a gun is fired it’s a quick popping noise. Scott had heard his first gunshot when he was seven years old. He had struggled with the small firearm then, but now his pistol felt like another limb on his body. To fire it felt natural. These days it seemed like the aftermath of firing that pistol were all that bothered him.

Huddled on the floor a few yards in front of Scott was what was left of Aaban Ebrahimi. Scott’s team, Alpha Four, was sent to his plush upper east side estate to assasinate him. Before being dispatched Alpha Four was given every bit of necessary information on the target by the Grandmother Box. He was forty-seven years old. He was slightly under weight and had four gaurds posted on the inside of his home. Today he would be alone and would have only two of his guards inside the home. The other two would be posted outside. When Alpha Four killed the guards and closed in on him, they found Aaban alone in his master suite waiting for someone in his silk pajamas.

Alpha Four was never told about his family. They were never told anything that the Grandmother Box deemed inconsequential. Was Aaban expecting his wife? Did he divide his security in half to give him and that woman privacy? Or did he have a mistress? The Alpha Four team hadn’t even been told why they were killing him. Did he deserve to die? Or was all that truly inconsequential?

“Scott! Do you plan on staring at him all day or are we going to continue the mission? We were supposed to be leaving by now! We’re two minutes and fifteen seconds off schedule!”

Scott’s gaze moved to the hooded figure standing next to Aaban. Kanto’s slight figure was indistinguishable from the other shadows in the master suite. He tapped his foot impatiently . Scott tried to respond, but struggled to find his voice.

“Hm? Forgot didn’t you? Provision Nine of the Mission Objective Outline required that we remove a body part from the target as proof of the elimination, and we can’t leave bullets in the corpse! You’re getting sloppy Scott! Grandmother Box is going to deduct points from our mission review analysis. If only you hadn’t let him see you. Why didn’t you just neutralize him from afar?”

“I….I don’t know.”

Scott knew perfectly well that Granny Box was going to deduct points from the mission review for his sloppiness and that meant no warm water for the team this week. He knew that targets should never see them, but some odd curiosity arose in Scott. He wanted to know everything that the report hadn’t told him. He wanted to see everything that his superiors hadn’t taught him. Scott wanted to see how a normal person lived.

Scott walked slowly towards Aaban’s corpse and dug out the bullet he had lodged in the man’s chest. Kanto quickly removed Aaban’s ear and pocketed in a small plastic bag with ease. Kanto had always been like that. He moved less like a person and more like a machine. Scott knew that Kanto was trained in melee and stealth manueavers, but he was always surprised at how easily he handled their objectives. Was that the correct way to behave in these situations?

Scott pondered that as he and Kanto quickly exited out the back window and signaled their other squad mates to abandon their positions. Alpha Four moved deftly through the estate’s backyard and easily slipped into the gardener’s shed where their boom tube was concealed. The boom tubes were large tubes that could hold up to eight adults and moved the squads back and forth from the Genesis Corporation’s headquaters to any given location on Earth. There were no windows in the boomtube, and it was sound proof. However as he entered and took his place with the rest of Alpha Four, Scott thought he could hear a muffled woman’s scream from afar. Was that the Ebrahimi family? Did a wife find her husband dead? Or did a daughter just discover her dead father? Scott couldn’t understand why this mattered. He couldn’t fathom the lump in his throat either. The thoughts and scenarios entering his head seemed foreign to him. If only he hadn’t met Metron……

Yay! It's nice to be back in the saddle again. Expect my first post to continue off from where my sample post started on Wednesday.

Hmm, maybe? I'm not sure which DC characters I'd have an interest in just yet.
