. THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG .Character Application

.Character you wish to portray: Kourtney 'Kory' Anders Miles aka Starfire.
.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Trying to be a hero.
.Powers and physical attributes: She has not yet unlocked her full alien abilities, but at this time they are:
.Origin and backstory (as you see it):
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Originating from the distance planet, Tamaran, Koriand'r was a beautiful baby. Tamaran was a small planet, the life form held there are called Tamaraneans. The Tamaraneans are living forms of energy, taking the shape of a human figure, whether it is a Male or Female shape. The reason they are shaped like this as when the great goddess X'Al, the ruler of Tamaran, created the planet, she wanted to see if in the future the Tamaraneans and Humans of Planet Earth could live in peace.
The Tamaraneans's color and aura of energy, vary. It depends on your good nature. Black is the most darkest forms of Tamaraneans and White is the most lightest forms of Tamaraneans. About a great hundred years ago on the planet, there was a war against the White race and the Black race. The Black Race won, much to everyone's dismay. But unlike a true Goddess, X'Al had to interfere and banished all of the Black race to the underground prisons of Earth, the lava pits. Only rare white Tamaraneans are left remaining in Tamaran, living deep in the mountains.
Koriand'r was born to two golden loving Tamaraneans, [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Myand'r and Luand'r.[/FONT][FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] They were both guardians of the mountain where the White race lived, holding an extremely important role. Koriand'r was a twin Ryand'r, the two of them golden Tamaraneans. Koriand'r once had a beautiful older sister, but she turned into a black Tamaranean. Myand'r and Luand'r could not bring themselves to banish their own daughter, so instead of handing her to X'Al, they sent her to the dark caves of Tamaran, where there were myths a few surving black Tamaraneans lived.
As X'Al now wanted her life ambition to start off, she began the first part of her experiment. Sending a new born Tamaranean to earth, to live like a human. Hearing of Myand'r giving birth to a beautiful pair of golden twins, she told Myand'r and Luand'r to chose which twin X'Al may use for the new dawn of Tamaran. The two of them both agreed that after feeling guilty for sending their first child, Komand'r, away, they did not want to remind themselves of her by looking at Koriand'r and only seeing Komand'r in her. So the decision was made, Koriand'r was leaving.
X'Al prayed for the baby, before sending her down to earth. X'Al had scanned all humans carefully, locating one couple in America, who lived in Star City. The male of the couple was a police officer in Gotham, who was quite patriotic. His name was Jack Miles. The female of the couple, Delia Anders, was two months pregnant, yet it was unknown to her. X'Al sent the golden Tamaranean inside Delia and into her womb. X'Al also planted Koriand'r with built in self defense for if she ever encountered danger on earth. X'Al had also sent one of her most trusted allies, a white Tamaranean down to earth, this white Tamaranean went by the name of Dehyl'a. Dehyl'a entered herself into the body of Delia, something only white Tamaraneans could do. Delia/Dehyl'a had the great job in making sure that Koriand'r could grow successful in the life of a human and avoid trouble at all costs.
Now named Kourtney Anders Miles, Koriand'r has grown to be a healthy and beautiful 19 year old. She goes by the name of 'Kory' to her friends and family (apart from some of her family).
But, when Kory was 16, she witnessed the great events of 'Super heroes', battling off 'Superheroes'. She was gobsmacked and not only that, she had an idol. Wonder Woman. Kory soon became obssesed, starting to often witness public events of Superheroes, traveling to Gotham at night, which was very dangerous. She had been taking martial arts at this time, but was often the bottom of the class.
Then, one night in Gotham, when Kory was 17, she encountered two muggers. This was when she first unlocked her abilities. Managing to avoid all the jabs and violent jerks the muggers took towards. Her martial art skills quickly excelled, taking one mugger done unarmed. The other mugger took her by surprise, activating the abilities X'Al had given her. Managing to not get hurt by a few punches swung at her stomach by the mugger and dodging some jabs with the knife by hovering in the air, she had then sent him flying to the wall with her energy projection, making the mugger unconscious and into a comatose state. Scared at first, she ran all the way to Delia and Jack's manor, away from her University.
She arrived at the house at found comfort in Delia. Delia questioned why she didn't go to see Jack at the police station, since she was in Gotham. Kory told her she wasn't thinking at the time. Managing to calm Kory down she eventually fed her a lie, about when she was a small toddler, Jack had taken down a mad professor, he wanted revenge once coming out of prison and came back for him. But Kory was alone with her nanny and the professor injected her with a special meta-human serum, which was originally designed to stop her blood streaming but Jack had gotten home in time to call an ambulance.
Believing the lie, Kory soon embraced this. After many failed attempts at trying to be a hero or be a side-kick, Kory soon started to loose hope. But one day, she witnessed the new girl on the block, Batgirl. Believing that there was room for Kory in the crime-fighting scene. Taking collectibles from her superhero collection, she only needed a belt to complete the look. Taking her dad's old thin cowboy style belt, Kory was ready. Using her AIM name 'Starfire', she took of and began her adventures in crime-fighting.
At first, she tested if she could fly in broad-daylight. She fell from a skyscraper, but managed to keep herself in mid-air by her Levitation abilities. After being criticized in the papers about her stupid juvenile look, Delia gave her an old catsuit that she used to dress up in for parties. Keeping the signature belt and mask, she completed her new look. Now the new girl on the block, she's still getting use to crime fighting. Yet to explore her [/FONT][FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]real[/FONT][FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] past.[/FONT]
.The burning question - Why this character?:
I really like her in the comics and the fact that she has Alien in heritage is also cooler. Giving her a Superman-type background can also help boost her character into a new person and different to what she is in the real DC Universe.
.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?:
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Being only 19, I have given Starfire multiple alter-egos. Her first one is the known Alien form Koriand'r, changing up the Tamaraneans a lot. Her other one is Kory Anders Miles, a young college girl who's just an average 19 year old with an obsession on superheroes. Finally, her last alter ego is Starfire, being new to the fighting-crime scene she's getting use to the rules and her surroundings, as well as helping to keep her abilities under control by the help of Delia, who tells her how to manage her emotions.[/FONT]
.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?:
I can bring a big twist and a great un-discovered back story to this Character and many more.

Think on your feet, Kory. You're about to go help at your oblivious dad in a bank heist. Poor policemen, I mean...what are guns going to do to metahumans!? But these criminals in the bank might not be metahuman, better go find that information out from dad. But the chances are highly unlikely that they're humans. I mean, this is Gotham we're talking about, right? Not back in Metropolis where I live.
Looking over a rooftop reminds me of my much earlier days. My foolish days to say the least. I can even remember that very first day I tested out my levitation skills. Wow, thinking about it, I was a big time loser. But, hey - look at me now, eh! I bet Selene Ramino would see the day I'd become a superhero? Pssh, her and her stupid cheerleading team and her stupid Gangster father. I mean, what kind of freshman is still in to cheer leading at College?
Anyway, back to the main focus. I'll first start talking to one of the other officers, then I'll avoid Dad and go in there. But, I hope my stupid powers actually work this time. I'm starting to think maybe my abilities activate during times in which I need to defend my self. That's pretty crappy. But, I should just be lucky to have abilities. It's not like you just see any other random 19 year old flying about with metahuman gifts. But, then again, looking down at Dad, I see how dangerous this job really is. If Dad can do it everyday without abilities, why can't I?
So, now it's time to focus, Kory. Put on your angry face. And remember, you're hair will only turn red once your powers are activated.
