The guy is pretty funny. In Interstellar he really didn't do much or have all that much to do since the focus was the daughter so I really couldn't get a sense of his range , but here he shows he's got a good sense of comic timing.
 
In my opinion, Tom Holland would be perfect. He's one of the younger ones on the list (18), he's shorter than the rest of the Avengers (5' 6") yet still has that skinny/lean look that Garfield had, he doesn't look too much like a jock/pretty-boy like some of the others, and he's got the acting chops (watch The Impossible).

That's just my opinion, but I think he's best suited for it.

I really don't know what to think is actually happening, but I don't see why my theory isn't plausible. I'm still pulling for Dylan.

I'm pushing o'brien too, but the thing about your theory is...the reddit leaker himself. if he's right about o'brien already being cast, then he wouldn't feel the need to tweet and trend o'brien because the job's already been done. according to him.
 
I keep telling myself I'm just not going to visit the spider boards until someone is cast but I can't help it...

They aren't. Jeff Sneider even says so in his article. He says that they are among many who have simply read for Marvel. Also, that many will screen test soon, and there is no guarantee they will be among those to screen test.

And if you know anything about this process, you'd know there is no shortlist until screen test offers have gone out.

Yeah the title contradicts what the article says. It's no coincidence that Sneider put that up a few hours after the guy from Collider tweeted out what he heard. He even mentioned sneider was in a panic to get the scoop. It's in the same realm as his '95% sure spider-man will be ethnic' claim

Exactly. Sneider wants to be seen as the person who 'broke' the scoop. He covers himself too by revealing there are other names on the list so if another actor is announced then he can fall back on that excuse.
 
it's such a shame because most people are now gonna believe these 5 are among the top contenders and they're gonna just gonna let go of o'brien

Whether it be O'Brien, Lerman, Elgort, Rowe etc, etc they all still have as much chance. Nothing's changed

Exactly. Since they are going to a over 18 years-old actor, Elgort, Nick Robinson, Dylan Minnette, are all better choices. They need to be tested too..
 
I wouldn't mind Liam James. He's the most good-looking out of the five.
 
I don't think this list is definitive. For example, the first list for X-men Cyclops and Jane Grey was:

Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld
Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothee Chalamet

And Tye Sheridan and Sophie Turner were the chosen.
