Because I think they are the main five.. I mean heck, even Collider reported on it.
Collider reported that it was a short-list 'according to Sneider' They read his article and had to report the 'news'.

Because it was not in the article. We don't know if there are others, and cannot know if the 5 mentioned are any more strongly being looked at by Marvel/Sony or even if they are being looked at at all. allw e know is Sneider has 'sources' which say that these 5 kids were 'most talked about'. By whom? Who knows!
Honestly I trust Talion more than Sneider, Sneider has shown in his 'short-list-5' that he would rather be deceptive and let people assume what what he is saying is official, than to make a claim that he may not be correct.
Though at this point it is the same with Talion I guess... he assumes what he knows is 100% correct, except Talion actually states it as if it is 100% correct... and that you would be stupid not to believe a random guy who has 'sources' that you know nothing about. :o

Sneider is the professional, I'm just lucky. He isn't the single source I have though, but I've been keeping the Nat Wolff thing for myself for weeks now. And as you can see with him lobbying for the role on twitter and this interview and whatnot, he clearly is one of the actors in the short list. Which is not something that I particularly like.

No, it isn't. And you don't know that for sure.

And how do you know this? "Heard most often" doesn't equate to "strongest contenders". Nor does it make the contenders we haven't heard of not equally as strong.
Because it was STATED in the article:
But multiple individuals with knowledge of the situation have confirmed they are strong contenders who are definitely in the mix as of right now.

Has anyone seen this? Sorry if I'm late

Just a reminder:
This does not dis-confirm that he has heard about the role any more than it does dis-confirm Dylan has the role.
(Neither does it confirm anymore than Dylan was confirmed)
We can't really comment, if anything he seems like he doesn't know about it IMO. He obviously can't talk about it if he did, but he began talking about it as if it would be cool, but wouldn't work out, especially with his girlfriend making that comment which shows that if they have talked about it together, she was negative about it.

Frosty is as much reliable as Sneider. You guys are just sttuborn because you don't like the news that the messenger is delivering.

He says why in the article; he doesn't know the other names
It was actually stated in the article:
Sony Pictures and Marvel have narrowed down their list of “Spider-Man” contenders to a select group of up-and-coming actors that includes Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James, among others, TheWrap has learned.

I know, and that's why I trust Sneider when he makes it clear his list is not official. :)
And I also trust Frosty when he says that it is the 'according to Sneider' list.

Gonna have to agree with Talion on this one.

When Redditleaker supposedly leaked that Dylan got the role, people were ACTUALLY trying to find things that add to his credibility, yes I remember guys. everyone WANTED him to be credible.

Plead the fifth means yeah, I know about it. I just can't say

Sneider tweeted a comment about Wolff at the MTV Awards stating "could he be next Spider-Man? with a photo of him there. I guessed he was one of the names Sneider had on his shortlist.

He knew it before that.

Funny how that works.

who's frosty?

@colliderfrosty, the one that didn't have the names but heard that Marvel had a shortlist. I wouldn't be surprised if Frosty heard from Sneider to begin with, I know some of these dudes talk among each other.

to be fair, the only thing to go off of redditleaker's credibility to my knowledge is that he was right about the sony disney deal weeks before it happened.

Funny how that works.
Exactly, most of the guys here don't want Sneider to be right.

Redditleaker123iknowmyabcs124 says that Dylan O'Brien is the next Spider-Man- people try to search for things that make him more credible and try to prove his credibility.

El Mayimbe, Jeff Sneider, Drew Mcsweeny, Devin Faraci all say that Dylan O'Brien is NOT the new Spider-Man and that Marvel are looking for teens- people aggressively try distinguish all of their credibility and with a very hostile attitude I might add. fans are in denial.

See how that works?

I KNOW Sneider is right, he clearly showed that his 5-list is not official, and not final.
Weren't you the one who started to believe RL? Or am I mistaking you with some one else..

yeah. I wanna believe RL.

To me he looks much more like Harry Osborn than Parker.:o
Terrible short-list ...
it is technically not a real shortlist.
