See, heres the thing:

El Mayimbe, Faraci, and Sneider all said (on numerous occasions) that they were looking for teen actors, aged 15-16. However, that's clearly not true, since Sneider's own "shortlist" severely contradicts those comments since all of them are 18+.

Now I'm not saying they aren't looking at 15 and 16 year olds, but I think its safe to say they aren't ignoring actors into their early twenties (20-24) either.

That's no excuse to attack those reporters, but they clearly got their facts wrong.
perhaps whoever mayimbe's source was, misheard their info a little bit because there is some loose consistency - feige did say that the character will be 15-16. that's not reflective of the actor, but perhaps that's how the source heard it, or (mis)interpreted it.

I'm pretty sure Sneider and Mayimbe at one point also said that the age range would be 15-20.
 
I don't care what anyone says, I still think Dylan is going to be Spider-Man. The only way I'll believe otherwise is when someone else gets cast. :o

Really? I don't mean that sarcastically or in a mean or condescending way at all ha, just in the 'asking why' manner

Asa just isn't someone I could ever see myself look at and saying "damn, I wish I was him." And SM, imo, needs to have that quality. I couldn't see myself 'looking up to him' (despite the fact I'm older than all those on the list). Idk I hate to go off looks, but I just really can't see it. He seems like a strange, really little kid to me. Hate to sound harsh tho, I like the films I've seen him in. Just not for this
 
What we have here is a clash between facts and hopes, expectations and reality, wants and what we are going to actually get.

I'm with Marvel on wanting to have a Peter Parker to start in high school and make a trilogy out of that. Other than Nat Wolff, I'd say any of those actors I'd be okay with, I just want a 15 year old Spider-Man to look like an actual 15 year old kid.
 
I don't care what anyone says, I still think Dylan is going to be Spider-Man. The only way I'll believe otherwise is when someone else gets cast. :o

Kevin Feige said it himself, in their mind the new Peter Parker is 15 - 16 . But in term of CASTING ACTORS he doesn't know. Meaning he can be 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, ... 28 - I don't even know myself lol!

Like the Captain Marvel cameo which was written out of the AOU script? Mayimbe was right about that, that's why you get the "Things Change" Tweet. :whatever: Planet Hulk could have just as easily been written out as well.

I don't doubt he is still in, but I'm not sure enough to say he will be cast.
I still will no matter what comes out agree that Dylan is best for the role though.

I think Liam arguably looks older than Nat even, but all the look-age seems to be pretty subjective.

What we have is a clash between reality: We don't know much for sure, and most anything is possible at this point.
and Non-Fact/Speculation: The actor will for sure be 15-20 even though no official sources state so and all is speculation at this point, and the top 5 list that Sneider proposed is official and Marvel/Sony will only choose from those 5 and it would be rare for them to not pick from it.
 
When you see The Avengers: Age of Ultron... well, just wait. You'll understand why and how LR got it wrong regarding Captain Marvel.

No matter what one thing is certain: NO ONE IS OFF THE TABLE!
Whether the list is real or not, from what I have seen it's around 50% of the time that an actor on the list gets the role. Maybe a higher 75%, but that still leaves it very likely someone else gets the role. We also know that IF the official list had included Dylan on it, Sneider would likley have admitted that he was wrong. Doing so would be stupid on his part, because Dylan is just as likley as any other guy, therefore there are enough others that Dylan is therefore Dylan will not likely get the job anyways.

You kind of lost me with that last sentence there. What were you trying to say? All I could see was Dylan Dylan Dylan.

It's not a bad problem for him to have though. I think most actors would rather be busy than not. I do like him (even if he's not my choice--nor it seems Marvel's--choice for Spider-Man) and I'm glad he's doing well.

I think Jeff Davis is the one I heard talking about Dylan having an insane amount of energy. He'd give 110% during shooting one day and show up the next ready to do it again while the others were still recovering.

Please. You gave the "evidence" to people most likely to believe your claims. One of them, most notably, being Harryoscop, one of the most gullible and fickle users in these threads; someone who believes anything you or these "scoopers" say (something you've taken great advantage of), and changes his opinion on whom he thinks should be cast, and whom should be believed, multiple times a day.

It is seriously distressing to me how easily someone like you can influence someone like Harryoscop, who hangs on your every word, and constantly changes his opinion to match yours. It's equally as distressing how easily someone like Jeff Sneider can create a false perception of these facts, and get guys like you and Harryoscop to believe it...... but I digress.

What I'm getting at here is this:

You have hung on the words of these con artists masquerading as journalists (who manipulate the truth, parade their own opinion as fact, and crap on readers who call them out on it), spitefully and obnoxiously challenged those of us who have dared to disagree with you (and these scoopers) and have (GASP!) a different opinion than yours, and manipulated other, more easily influenced users here to follow that same drum beat. And on top of that, you're now claiming to have inside sources (of which have been inconsistent in their reports, if they are in fact real). This, being a huge leap from you being that guy who REPEATEDLY speculated that Peter Parker would die in Civil War (and that Miles Morales would take his place), and got crap for it, during your earliest days here. But again, I digress.

This all said, I am sick and tired of your downright trollish behavior here. Clearly the mods don't feel its anything to dole out a punishment for. But to be fair, you haven't done anything too extreme. But that said, I'm going to try and stay away from here until the casting is done. If I stay around here much longer, I might say something that will get me banned. Because, to be brutally honest, I have many, much more colorful words I could use to describe your behavior, but there's no need to resort to that. It would be childish, rude, disruptive, and petty. And perhaps I've gone too far with what I've said here about you and Harryoscop, but I had to get this off my chest. And if you or Oscop (particularly Oscop) takes offense to this, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to state what it is I've observed here and how I feel about it.

P.S. I realize you'll probably report me for this, like you threatened to report me for insulting Jeff Sneider (who absolutely deserves it for his blatant clickbait), and/or accuse me of being a Redditleaker and DBS supporter, of which I am neither. P.S.S. Yes, I do support Dylan O'Brien for the role, and I do believe he's in running, and if I'm being truthful here, I am a massive O'Brien fanboy. And guess what?

There's nothing wrong with that.

Even if its not true (which it may not be) or seems outlandish, I and others here are entitled to our opinion, and can support whoever we want. No matter how unrealistic it may be or seem.

That doesn't disprove the Planet Hulk thing.. it was stated that Hulk would have been shot into space, possibly setting up a GOTG crossover, that doesn't mean it would have lead into a Planet Hulk solo movie.

Liam James looks the most geeky and easily the one who would pass as a 15 year old. Still dont want him or the others on the list as Spider-Man.
 
People want Mayimbe and Sneider to be wrong.

And Mayimbe has been more right than wrong in the past.
