I just hope it's Teo Halm. I like how in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, he looks like a legit 15 year old and is tiny compared to the rest of the Avengers.

I'm reading Ultimate Spider-Man for the first time now and I disagree about him looking like a 15 year old. I think he looks late teens. All a matter of opinion and perception, though.

Something we all need to consider:

There is no way Spidey will be in high school for a considerable amount of time. Even if they cast a 15 year old/made the character 15, he'd be 20 by time the second Spidey solo released in 2020. If they cast a 20 year old, he'd be 25.

So age doesn't matter. Because the character will be out of high school by time they reach the second film.

What do you guys think of the whole Billy Unger situation?

He's either trying to get some of the attention from all of the hub bub about casting OR He's being naïve thinking that by making such a big noise about it that he'll be considered when most likely casting has already been finalized.

You have documents confirming the date the deal was made?

The announcement of this deal came about a week or so after a "Spidey Summit" that was held in late January and at which at least one representative from Marvel was present. We also know that initial discussions between Sony and Marvel had fallen apart before said summit was held.

How long before said summit was held did initial discussions fall apart?

Y'know who that looks like?
(There's two good answers to that, one of which I hope no one answers. :p)

That is one of the weakest arguments I've ever heard. There's so many flaws there that I'm not bothered to even point out.

:barf::barf:

1. Have the decency to not act like a child, and be civil.

2. Argument for what? All I'm trying to point out is that, no matter what age they cast, we won't see Spidey in high school for very long. Now yes, he'll be HS age in the 4 films we'll see him in during Phase 3, but we wont be dealing with the HS setting outside of that first Spidey solo.

Even though he's one of my picks, he's coming off very desperate...

Dylan O'Brien and Miles Teller.
Dylan was one of the answers.

His MR character looks straight off the comic book page!
Miles was not one of the answers I thought of. Some pics PP looks like Miles, but not this one IMO.

I have a strong feeling that you're wrong.

Unless they suddenly stop have the movies progress in real time (which is possible), its unlikely we have more than that one film with the HS setting and cast of characters.

Just give us the Spectacular Spider-Man in live action. That's it, there's your model. Follow it.

Certain comments that have been made indicate that Sony wants the character in HS for at least two films, and that Kevin Feige concurs with and is going to accommodate that desire.

Where does Feige say he's going to be in high school past the first (solo) film?

Two pertinent quotes from that interview:
“In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.”
“We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there’ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there’ve been five Spider-Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven’t been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The most obvious being the ‘young, doesn’t quite fit in’ kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up, which is something we want to play with and we’re excited about.”

Something we all need to consider:

There is no way Spidey will be in high school for a considerable amount of time. Even if they cast a 15 year old/made the character 15, he'd be 20 by time the second Spidey solo released in 2020. If they cast a 20 year old, he'd be 25.

Exactly!
PP age in different films:
Civil War: 15-16 (Filming 2015)
Spider-Man: 16-17 (2016-17)
Infinity Wars 1: 17-18 (2016)
IW 2: 18-19 (2016-17)

So by IW he will already be out of HS. (That's also assuming they don't pull a "he skipped a grade since he's so smart" which I wouldn't mind.)
Guess what though, IW 1 and 2 will start filming NEXT YEAR!
That means if they chose someon who is 23, for instance, the person would be 24 by the time they act as a College aged Peter. For all we know there will be only one spidey solo in phase 3. However, I would assume that there would be at least one more. There are rumors that they may plan on filming 2 and 3 together. In that case they can film:
Spider-Man 2: Age 17-18 (2017)
Spider-Man 3: Age 19-20 (2017-18)
When the actor would still be 25.
Even in that circumstance though, both sequels could be in college for all we know. Otherwise at least the second one would be.
If ANYTHING we NEED someone whos age look does not change too much during the filming, because if they do more than one solo the age of the actor would be older when PP is younger. (Eg actor is 24 filming IW1, but 25 or 26 when filming Spider-Man 2 which would be released the same year.)
So who can maintain a similar age look for a couple years? Someone going into second puberty, or someone who has past that but is young enough to not have their age look change too much?

^ We may not see the origin, but I think it's safe to say that this is a Peter who is still very early in his career at the time we meet him.
