Nah, I disagree, I could totally hear Asa's voice coming out of this guy's mouth:

Really, THIS voice?

Anyone have clips of Asa speaking in an american voice.

Except those were REAL shortlists, unlike the "shortlist" Sneider published :o

Which is why I don't think he's really going to get the role, despite what LR are saying :o

Except Latino Review didn't just get a confirmation from their own source (which have proven to be right with Many Marvel castings) they also reached out to MULTIPLE other sources who work in the movie industry and they also confirmed that Asa is the favorite for the role.

That link isn't working for me, but yes, I can TOTALLY hear Asa's voice tone coming out of the Ditko Spidey's mouth.

Why? I've asked so many friends of mine what they think of Asa and if they think he'd be good for Spider-Man and they've all said no. I agree.

I looked at some movie sites in my country and they're all against him being cast for the role, everyone are like "Meh, such a safe and underwhelming choice".

And here in America the people on the /Film and AICN boards (the number 1 and 2 most popular movie blogs in the world) have the same kind of reaction.

I am curious,
what is Spider_Man supposed to look and sound like?
personally, i have no expectations in that regard .

some of you put waay to much trust in these people and their soo called "sources" the only thing they're good for is speculation they are not legit not even to me I only believe something when its official, I was once gullible but never again i mean especially latino review and sneider

He's never been one of my choices, but I'd be fine with Butterfield if he actually gets the role. If only because Marvel has yet to miscast a role, and even if Sony ultimately has final approval, I don't think they would sign off on any choice unless they also like the actor regardless of who it is.

Are people assuming Asa cannot believably pull off an american accent?

Try now.

Look up ;)
Ender's Game was filmed in 2012... he was still in mid-phase of Puberty. Asa's voice hadn't reached it's final tone yet, of course he's going to sound a bit whiny and squeaky.

X+Y is a better example.

1. Asa being able to portray a great Peter Parker is more important than anything else, imo. Peter is the CORE of the character.
IMO, that is more important than the comedy element

I think it can be more or less taken as a given that if Asa is cast, we'll be seeing all manner of coaches in the end credits of both Civil War and Spidey 2017.
Zero Brien will require acting coach AND drama coach, as well as likeability coach.

I actually really like Asa's voice. It isn't really what I expect just looking at him, but I like it. Especially in X+Y.

I wonder if Anthony Hopkins could have played a witty and fast talking Tony Stark in the same way as RDJ since he's a good actor and even better than Butterfield.

Agreed  his voice is distinctive and uniqe imo.

Agreed. Peter Parker's side is far more important than Spider-Man imo. I think Asa would give us a better Peter Parker than Dylan would and he's easily the better actor.

And lol. :funny:

People who are currently in High-School, I want to see their opinion on Dylan, if he looks like he's around their age.

He would look terribly out of place in my School.

My niece is a freshman and she thought Dylan was 16. She was terribly disappointed when she found out he was 23. She's just now grasping the concept that most of the time actors on TV or in movies are older than the characters they play. Poor kid.

I thought you said Asa looks and acts nothing like Peter Parker a few months back? Doesn't that contradict your "looks are subjective" thingy?

I'd never even heard of him until he was a rumored contender for Spider-Man, then I watched some trailers for Maze Runner and assumed he was just another crappy, 16 year old, YA genre actor. When I found out he was 23, it genuinely surprised me.

Nought Butterfield will need everyone else to act all serious, especially RDJ, in order for what little humor he has to even come to light otherwise everyone will outshine him.
