Homecoming The Next Spider-Man - - - - - - - - - Part 18

True, but im sure those things have been considered and everything has been weighed out for these to be the final pool of actors. It's just a matter of choosing the best actor for the role.

While that's usually true alot of times , you never know . Even a "final" pool of actors can be abandoned if they still don't have what they're looking for. Even a final choice can be vetoed . I don't think that'll happen in this case but its always a possibility and has happened before. The one thing to remember about casting is that they are flexible when they need to be an sometimes even the final choices may not always be ideal so they go to a different approach. That's why while shortlists are usually a pretty good indication of who will get a role there's always a possibility that they keep searching or decide to go a different direction. In that sense, casting can be unpredictable.

Isn't that what happened with Captain America? The shortlist looked pretty terrible, and it started looking like John Krasinski was going to land the role. Then Evans seemed to come out of nowhere to bag the role, as he wasn't mentioned previously, and not considered either because he had already been the Human Torch.

Sonic thanks for liking liking my post. And I do bring up valid things there we need to look at for this spidey. Lewis lintz are not right for a post bite past puny parker stage we are starting at. Rowe tom and even asa fits thst better and could still hid having a buff althetic body and still be picked on by flash but he should be in the stage that he can't or won't do anything about it.

Shanio, still for me I honestly can't see mcu timescale changing just cause spidey in the pictute. If we had him before cap 1. Sure maybe since there timeline wasn't so define then. But now we have a more clear timeline. And yrs movies are out is yr movie is set in. Unless your cap 2 agent carter stuff in the past. But everything else is set to a time. And again f peter is 15 or 16 in 3016 as we know civil war is. Thst already as I said puts a time stamp from next yr on for how old and in relation to school peter has to be. We won't see any time lock on spidey to probably late phase 4 going into phase 5. Since then around there peter in character would be hitting the late 20s to early 30s frame the comics has him. Then at that point age likely won't be refrenced.

Can't believe I'm saying this but i'd rather Lintz over O'Brien. That said, I'd probably boycott the movie if either is cast and only watch it through piracy.

I would be vastly disapointed with lintz or lewis. They are just so young. Unknown skills. And we don't know how they will change with puberty and would they handle the pressure of the role and stay for full contract time. Or would they quit acting want to move on to other things after a movie or too. On top of labor laws and issues with parents and managers. Minors cause so much hassle for films like this.

Going 18 and older is better. Since actors looks won't change much. Don't have to deal with parents and labor laws. And more likely to take a long term deal.

Nah ty simpkins

Funny that you posted this, due to the fact that Nick Robinson is in JW too. And he was a fav here along with Rowe, a long time before the latter ended up on the final list.
What if Nick actually gets the role

At this point it's either Dylan O'Brien or Dylan O'Brien, I'm not sure if Dylan O'Brien tested though but if he didn't Dylan O'Brien probably got the role. Unless he was going against Dylan O'Brien in the auditions. Then Dylan O'Brien definitely got the role.

Nick probably didn't test
He and hundreds of other young talents went into the trash bin before the auditions started. Marvel & Sony might have decided to cast "against Hollywood" and not bother getting someone who's currently, or about to be, in a big film.

OFC, Judah and Lintz and Plummer seem more interesting :cwink: :oldrazz: :whatever:

Airings we have no clue what known, semi known, or total unknowns tested, had call ins. Or auditions. So I wouldn't be so hasty to say this or this or that or that actor wasn't seen or brought up to marvel and sony. Again we don't know who had tests when testing started and many other details.

And you know this because?

I don't believe Marvel/Sony interviewed every single possible actor on the planet. That would be impossible, and wholly unnecessary. However, the fact that they are considering actors like Lintz and Judah, both of whom have a very narrow CV, is a testament to how deep they went into exploring options. If they looked it to Lintz/Judah, you can be sure that they checked out someone like Robinson, who stars on a ABC family show, a Disney subsidiary.

Did they audition every single one? No, but they most definitely did their research.

We haven't even seen Judah, Lintz and Plummer in action; who are we to draw conclusions?

We don't know if MCU will still follow real world time though

So we can't say that anyone looks too young or too old? If it's that unpreditcable we need someone who won't change age look too much.

I think the main thing many of us (myself included) overlook how much is known fact, how much is hinted at or there is strong evidence for, and how much we can only make theories for or assumptions or rely on rumors.

We don't really know how the timeline will run. We can assume it will go as it always has, and it would be a safe assumtion, but also could very well be wrong. Especially if someone does something with the time gem...

What we know about Spiderman is pretty vauge when you look back at it. We know he will already be spidey, so this is after the bite. We know they aren't very fond of origins so we could assume that there will be minimal flashbacks. We know PP will start off in the universe as somewhere around 15-16, and it is safe to assume he will not age backwards, and will age at the same speed as others in the universe. It is pretty safe to assume that the timeline will continue as it has been, but it is not set in stone nor even confirmed to be their plans.

My point is simply that there are different levels to how safley we can assume something. It seems that as far as timeline, the only thing we can really assume is it will cntinue as it has, until someone from Marvel says otherwise. At least I would assume Marvel would make the decision on timeline, as it is the MCU that the timeline will fit into.
