Wasn't Benedict Cumberbatch out from the role of Dr Strange at one point, particularly when they were looking seriously at Joaquin Phoenix? But Cumberbatch was an early candidate who was possibly considered, like O'Brien.

I think he meant one Spider-Man movie every year

Yeah that's what the guy from Hitfix meant and it makes NO SENSE, even if they wanted to.

Anyway, guys, there's no reason to trust them, just wait for the official announcement from Marvel/Sony, and in the meantime keep campaigning for Dylan on twitter, because Marvel DO LISTEN to the fans. So tweet them you want Dylan as much as you can, and to Sony Pictures :)

Yeah, because the wording suggest he means one SPIDER-MAN movie every year.

And harryoscop is back on the Dylan hype train. I see your sig. ;)

@Spider-Gnome, yeah. I know, I was agreeing with it.

"Waiting for Harryoscop's reply" :cwink:

In the meantime, I suggestion the Lerman supporters to campaign for him too.

I'm getting so tired of all these rumors!!!

Marvel and Sony please just ****ing announce the goddamn actor already!!!

What do you mean?

1. Does he look like a stoner in the newest pic I've posted?

2. Why is he a terrible choice for Spider-Man other than being too old?
Too serious and not funny?
Too short?
A bad actor?
Too unknown?
Has he always been weird-looking?

1. No, but he looks like a stoner in the pics I posted.

2.
Too weird looking
Doesn't look like Peter Parker.

Harry at least try to be considerate to other suggestions. You know who else didn't look like Peter? Tobey Maguire, and his first two movies are the best in the franchise.

Actually Tobey Maguire did sort of resemble a version of Peter Parker from the comics.
And he wasn't weird and ugly looking.

This thread is stuck in an never-ending loop. Everything go in a cycle.
"Dylan is perfect"
"Logan isn't funny"
"Teens are too young"
"'X' is weird and 'Y' is too wooden"

We're only discussing variations of the quotes above, in one way or another. We're stuck.
This is the MATRIX

Too weird looking
Doesn't look like Peter Parker.
Too few of the suggested actors fit Peter Parker. I find this very strange.
And several people don't want the Michael Keaton route for Spidey, they prefer a safe pick.

But Harry, is the Aiken kid ALSO weird looking?
This is really going of proportions now. Almost every talented young actor have the looks against them. Not just for webslinger, but generally speaking.
It's must be depressing for them to not be able to play a diversity of roles.

I agree, we're stuck in an endless loop.. please Marvel/Sony just ****ing end this madness!! :wall:

That's not really true.
Is Charlie Rowe ugly or weird? nope. does he look like Peter Parker? YES.
Is Teo Halm (16 btw), ugly or weird looking? nope. does he look like Peter Parker? YES!
Is Asa Buttermilk ugly or weird? not ugly. only his eyes make him look weird-ish. does he look like Peter Parker? sort of.

We're past the Michael Keaton age of casting actors that don't fit their roles. people are taking CBMs more seriously nowadays, just look at Ben Affleck and his Batsuit.. Hollywood is finally letting go of the black rubber and giving us a comic book faithful Batsuit. it also helps that Ben Affleck looks more like Bruce Wayne than Bale and Keaton did.

We're past the Batman 89/X-Men 2000 days, so people should stop using that as an excuse to miscast Peter Parker or find actors that look NOTHING like him.

I think I've made my point.

Harryoscop: I can mention many more actors people here are against because of looks.

I notice that you have changed attitude towards Buttercake. That's positive and worth mentioning

What about Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Jesse Eisenberg? They are recent examples of left field casting.
It shouldn't be just something for DCU

This is Marvel we're talking about. They have casted eveyr character to near if not absolute perfection. Hemsworth Thor? Perfect. Evans Captain America, the definition of the character. Ruffalo's Bruce Banner? Blew me away! Robert Downey Jr is basically Tony Stark inside and outside of the films!

If there's anyone we can trust with casting it's Marvel. If they cast one of the so called "ugly" actors. They must being seeing something inside that you're not seeing. Never judge a book by it's cover, because that book might be a best seller. :)

What about Evans, Hemsworth, Jackson, Renner, Taylor Johnson, Olsen, Hiddlestone, Boseman, Cox and Colter? all of them are from the MCU and ALL of them resemble their comic book counterparts.
Eisnberg and Ezra are the only ones that hold water.

Momoa DOES look like a version of Aquaman... he looks almost EXACTLY Peter David's Aquaman from the 90s.

"It's something that shouldn't be exclusive to the DCCU"
So basically what you're saying is that you don't want an actor that looks like Peter Parker? okay then.

He didn't say that. He didn't say anything like that at all. I may be wrong but I believe he was saying just because the actors don't look like Peter in the comics(and there are several versions of the character and make up in the film industry has never been so amazing, so they could make them look like a version if needed)doesn't mean they can't play the part as well/have just as good a chance as the ones who do.

No, what I'm saying is that every talented actor in the age range should be given the same chance.
If someone else does a better audition than a PP look-a-like and really impresses Sony/Marvel, and he has also given good performances in earlier work, then it's only fair that he gets the role. Don't you agree?

I predict that if a bunch of the "weird" dudes try out for Spidey, it's very likely that one of them is cast as Harry instead. Because there are some great talent among the "weird ones".

Thanks :)
But god forbid that someone who isn't a clone of PP turns out to be better than everybody else when it comes to capture every trait of the character (well, except the looks).

Yeah, they should be given the chance to audition, but cast who fits the role the best; looks, comedic talents, age, acting etc.
why would they cast an actor who failed the audtion for Harry? he has to LOOK and ACT like Harry too.. can't just cast anyone.
Yeah I did change my mind about Buttercup.
only his eyes make him look weird.

They'll return to normal when he's not Hulking out. :o

No, problem and lol.

thats how they'll do the spidey-sense, he'll wear brown contacts as Peter normally, then show his real eyes when his spidey-sense is going off
