I really quite like Logan Lerman.

Wouldn't mind him as Pete.

I'd prefer it if they got a complete unknown for the role.

Yeah, and then there's that. Lerman might just be a little too big, but with someone as big as Ben Affleck having been cast as Batman, I'm sure Lerman would work just fine.

Plus I'd prefer an actual teenager, if Spidey is actually going to be a teen. Take a risk

But in first movies PP was 17-19.

I can see Dylan playing a college student who becomes a rookie teacher eventually.

I don't think most people want a middle aged Peter Parker.

And I picture everybody throwing stuff at him and ignoring what he has to say. Because, who would listen to and take a guy like Dylan seriously in school? :o

So how would everyone feel if a complete unknown was cast? Someone none of us had heard of?

I'd be more than happy with an unknown.

Though, that's part of the reason why I picked Vincent Martella for the role.

I have three off the top of my head:

-Vincent Martella
-Logan Lerman
-Freddie Highmore

Those three or an unknown would do fine by me.

I think most people mainly want a good Spider-Man movie. :yay:

You never had a young teacher who is witty and charming.

They're the most popular teachers. :woot:

I'd like to think it will be a complete unknown who is cast so there won't be any existing judgements of whoever is cast, other than the obvious looks the part / sounds the part discussions

I think we should be done with nerdy-looking choices.

Peter Parker is dorky when it comes to his book smarts, other than that he's a hottie who can pull dimes left and right.

Benedict cumberbatch is doing sherlock and Doctor Strange in the same year, The guy that played doctor Watson in that show did the hobbit as well

I'm sure if grant wanted to do it he could, it's just a matter of whether he wants to be the face of two franchises!

I'm not sure if he's the best bet for spidey but he's certainly an option.

Can we be more original and creative than just
"The guy from The Flash", please?

The difference is, Sherlock's season is 3 episode long. And there's also two years between each season.

Grant does like, 22 episodes a year (or will do) and filming would take up the entire year.

Actually, the more I think about it... the more I LOVE Logan Lerman.

He can be cool, geeky and even a little sexy all at the same time. Stick a pair of glasses on him and he'd pull off an amazing Peter Parker.

Of all the choices i've seen, I do think Grant Gustin is the best choice but it won't happen
1)I'm pretty sure when he signed with The Flash there may have been some clause with WB that he wouldn't play another hero while under contract with them,
2) If it goes to Marvel, he'll be too old since they want a teen,
3) Sony might want to go with a bigger name like Levitt, Gosling, or Lerman the next time around,
4) He's already known as the Flash

In his favor hypothetically though is precedence. People said that neither Roger Moore nor Pierce Brosnan could/Should be Bond because of their TV alter egos being the Saint and Remmington Steele. The argument was that people wouldn't be able to accept them as Bond even after their shows went off the air. Didn't happen.

Ryan Gossling? Joseph Gordon Levitt? worst choices ever!
