If I could choose, I would have Andrew transition over into the MCU without a second thought. Sadly, that's just not gonna happen, unless Marvel feels like they need to stick it to Sony, by hiring the guy the fired. But that just seems highly unlikely. So I'm trying to get over it now.

I completely agree here.

If Marvel didn't want a teenaged Spidey, I would demand they bring back Garfield because that seems to be what even the people who disliked TASM franchise will agree with -- he wasn't the problem; it was the writing.

Plus, he's a fan for crying out loud!

Much like you however, I'm trying to get over Garfield ASAP because no matter what, the character is greater than the actor.

I wouldn't have Andrew in the MCU myself and its logical that Disney wouldn't either. He comes with too much baggage and too tied the previous series , he was more popular with the fanboys than with the GA, and he's too old for what they want to do anyway. Yes he was a good actor but its more than just getting good actor. Its about getting an actor who really connects with the GA as a whole as opposed to a faction of the fans.

Marvel /Disney will have to deal with the same issue because if there is a reboot they're gonna have find someone who the audience will like , embrace, and root for.

Not saying Garfield was disliked by any means, as most critics and fans felt he did a good acting job. I do think though he was missing that certain something which really made the GA embrace him and say "Yeah, this is our Spiderman", and i'm not sure writing is totally at fault for that. It really does depend on the qualities and charm an actor has. Evans, Downey, and Hemsworth have it. Its the ability to win the audience over even if the material is weak or bad.

Now to be fair, the third actor is gonna have an easier time then the second actor replacing a popular actor did . That said, Disney Marvel is going to have to chose wisely when it comes to casting the next film and its gonna have to be someone who the audience could connect with on an emotional level.

Garfield was a perfect Spider-Man to me, and I like both TASM movies. That being said, Marvel has a real eye for casting their heroes, so I'm confident that whoever they pick will be great for the role.

I think the Timothy Dalton comparisons are accurate. Dalton's Bond was a lot more like the source material, but never really had the charm that the GA fell in love with. Fanboys love him, the GA barely remembers him.

just yesterday I was against Logan Lerman, but I watched the Perks Of Being A Wallflower and also saw some current pics of the guy. I used to think that he may not have the chops acting-wise and on a superficial level that his eyes were kinda feminine but now he's absolutely perfect for the role imo. officially a part of the LL camp

Perks is such a good film.

One more on the Logan train. :woot:

Ditto. I was thinking the same thing. Dalton was praised by alot of the fans of Fleming novels, but the general audience never really connected with him as they did with his predecessors and his successors.

Dude's a legit actor. Great film, as well.

I'm on the Logan/Freddie train, lol.

The only one I'm not on is Dylan.

Well, I'm off to watch The Spectacular Spider-Man and base my casting choices around that!

it's truly a shame Josh Keaton's too cool looking to play Peter himself... :D

Spetacular Spider-Man was the reason I wanted Logan.

Marvel may make decent movies, but man does their animated devision suck ass. Every time they got something decent on their hands, they quickly cancel it and replace it with garbage. And it's because they think kids want that. Frick, the kids that watch these shows are easily smarter than the people in charge.

Unlike some people, the person playing Spidey won't affect whether or not I see the movie.

So Dylan, Logan... either are fine.

Spectacular Spidey is the reason I want Vincent.

Peter from the Ultimate universe was under 5'8...and if Marvel are adamant on keeping Spidey forever a teen in school, that height of Martella's will work to his advantage...and with shoes, it always add a few extra inches, so he's the right height anyway :p

I'm not familiar with any of the names in the poll. I'm sure Marvel would be able to cast Peter Parker well though, as he would be such a key figure in the MCU. Whoever they get needs to not have Edward Cullen hair.

Who is this?

Are there any actors that haven't already been listed or discussed that you guys can think of?
