What do people think of the Asa Butterfield suggestion?

Holy crap.

I love you Miles.

Love you too, K. :highfive:

No but seriously, Andrew didn't look hipster, and neither will Dylan/Logan/Whoever. It's just clothing that people wear out in real life, are people expecting a modern day Peter to be wearing **** like this:

freespidey2bullys.jpg

Because that would be hipster.

Also, notice how he doesn't look out of place with those guys in the background... you know why? He's wearing normal modern (for the 60s) clothing. Why should that change now?

What are people expecting Peter to wear, really? What constitutes as normal for a 16 - 18 year old in the 2010s to wear in everybody's eyes over here?

Can't tell if you're being serious. Because that isn't what hipster is, but it is what a hipster would say of themselves.

Look, going around giving people labels because of them not being exactly like you, is pretty *****y.

Yes, I'm serious. Labels like 'hipster' are closed minded and sad.

Hey look at this ordinary teenager.

Perfectly said, Miles. Peter was a punk/grunge kid who liked to skate and happened to be pretty smart. Not a god damn hipster.

And yes, it's just frickin clothes. Wearing non-ugly stuff doesn't make you a hipster. Hipsters barely even exist, anyway.

The guy from Ender's Game?

Maybe.

Yes, I agree he isn't stonewall choice, he has been in serious things a lot, but he seems a great young actor, and ive seen some interviews with him today, he seems intelligent and witty. So I think he could act the part, even if we haven't seen it from him before.

He's also 17, so could play a high school Spidey into the 2020s if necessary.

He looks Peter-ish.

I'll need to check out those interviews - any links? :)

Why don't you heed your own words and not label me a *****e :oldrazz:

So are hipsters. Ba-dum chsh. But seriously, hipsters are the worst. They look down on people who don't know certain movies and bands and books and other forms of art, but at the same time horde those things because if they were to get popular, they lose their ability to be superior. They are elitists of the trivial, holding pop culture hostage because they think popularity has a retroactive effect on art, when in reality art NEEDS to be shared.

EDIT - This is so far off topic now though unfortunately, (sorry everyone, i forget what forum I'm in sometimes) feel free to reply through a direct message

He's 17...and 6 foot...think when he's 18...He'll be 6'2...when he's 19, he'll be 6'4...Flash Thompson will be have to be at least ten feet tall to convincingly push around puny Parker :o

I have no idea who he is.

But if they went with someone that young, then my suggestion of Peyton List for either Felicia or Gwen would work well with that since she's only 16 right now. Both would be about 18 by the time the movies are filming.

So you grew 2 inches every year and are still growing?

Most guys stop growing by a certain age. Even by 17 they reach their full height.

Is he 6ft i looked and it said 178cm which is 5ft 10, I guess that could be old news though, cos I guess yeah he could still be growing.

I just typed Asa Butterfield interviews in youtube, tbh I was just looking to see how he looked now, after seeing him Enders Game. There are some ones with Conan and ones where he is talking about X + Y. It shows he puts a lot of thought into his roles and acting.

You usually stop growing at 21 or 22...He's gonna be huge if so!

He's 5'11 now apparently. But with shoes, he'll be up to 6 foot.

Elitism is indeed one of the worst qualities out there, yes. What I'm saying, is that clothing doesn't make one an elitist, neither does taste in music, film, or art of any kind. Being able to appreceiate such things, don't equal elitism.

But again, yes, elitism is horrible. I think we are on the same page after all. Though, I don't think you should label a person a hipster just because they like certain stuff. If they're being ***** about it, though; sure, call them hipsters.

We're indeed off topic, but I think we ended up agreeing, so there's that. :yay:

Mind...I'm not against Asa. And I believe, if you want Spidey to be a teen...GET A ****ING TEEN TO PLAY HIM!

Like most social movements, it comes with a uniform.

Sometimes, sometimes not. Don't judge a book by its cover, though.

Thought we were on the same page. Oh well.

No puns intended.

I would think his biggest growth spurt is behind him, he could still grow, but I doubt it will be inches on to his height, most still grow a little to 21/22 but usually are near full height by 17 18.

Yeah, probably an inch at most. I wish I would be growing another 2 inches a year for 2-3 more years.

HAHA Most times, few times not. If you see a guy with a blue mohawk, are you telling me you aren't going to immediately think he's a punk? It is sad judge has become a bad word since it only means "to form an opinion," and when it comes to personal style, people are sell an opinion they want people to see them as.

Oh well, just trying to make peace here. :yay:

Edit: Yes, of course a dude with a mohawk is gonna strike me as punk. I will however not assume he's a dick because of it, like some people assume people with an indie touch to them are going to be. That's the problem, assuming people are ***** because of their clothing. I think indie is a much nicer term than hipster.
