Was it? Huh...
Was it? Huh...
Super Mario World wasn't revolutionary. It built upon the concepts introduced in Mario 3 and followed the same formulaWe basically need revolutionary Mario game. Every system except Gamecube had that one Mario game that we stepped back and was like, "da ****?" Super Mario World, Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, etc.
Nintendo is more of a quality vs quantity developer. There were hundreds of Wii games simply shat into existence and only a handful were great, but when they were great they were really, really great. Whereas with the 360 there were so many games that were pretty good that I stopped getting really engrossed in a game. Last game that sucked me in for the 360 was probably Red Dead Redemption.
I've also found I'm turning my back on online multiplayer. It's just become a pain in the ass and I want no part in it. I don't have the time necessary to devote to becoming good enough at a game to play online. I simply cannot complete with 8 year kids with nothing better to do than sit around playing COD or Halo, let alone get called obscene names for not being the best in the game. I just don't care about that anymore. It hit a point with Halo 4 where I had one drug addicted buddy that did nothing but play Halo, and we got online to play and he spent the whole time ridiculing and insulting me because I didn't have an amazing K/D. I realized I'm not having fun anymore. I don't care about online nonsense. Multiplayer is fine, but I'd much prefer a bunch of friends playing a game in the same room over playing with some anonymous kids.
I desperately want Nintendo to go the way of Sega so I can have their awesome franchises on a good system.
Would LOVE to play Pikmin on my X-Box
LMAO, that's all Nintendo does, reuse its franchises that its been pushing out games for every generation for the last couple of decades. They are nothing if not consistent
Sega's franchises became terrible when they went multiplatformI desperately want Nintendo to go the way of Sega so I can have their awesome franchises on a good system.

Nintendo as a company ONLY does games. If for some reason they flopped in the hardware division, they'd have no choice but to become a publisher and release their IPS on other platforms or cease to exist as a business. Theres too much money to be made to just throw that all away. Its not like MS and Sony, both of whom produce products for different fieldsNintendo would never do that. They'd rather go out on their own terms than become just a publisher.
NOTHING has been confirmed about the systemHas it been confirmed or denied they will be implementing blu ray?
They're a publicly traded company. Not sure what going out on their own terms means? Founders taking it private?Nintendo would never do that. They'd rather go out on their own terms than become just a publisher.
Great term!hundreds of Wii games simply shat into existence
Sorry but Nintendo has always been the front running innovator when it comes to gaming. Other companies always pawn them off as some "gimmick" or "non hardcore gamer" whatever the hell that means.
We got Mario with Nintendo / Duck hunt "motion gun"
We got Donkey Kong Country with Super Nintendo, that game graphic wise was insane and looked better then the newer 32 bit consoles arriving on the scene.
N64 / Mario 64 revolutionary! + hardware joystick motion control
Wii was a different beast in hardware and the way you play games..
I could go on,,,,,, Moral of the story is much of what other consoles have now is due to Nintendo,, even after other consoles try to degrade it... "kinect"
Im not a fanboy of Nintendo but I have been around long enough to see plenty in the console wars. Whether Nintendo wins all the time in innovation or not,, they are always at the front of the pac. I certainly give them that respect and to say they cannot make hardware is just wrong, they innovate hardware that other consoles rip off.
It's true that they are the main innovators and they get consistently copied (ripped off) by the others. But now they've taken the option of dropping out of the cutting edge of gaming. They're fighting for a smaller pie and that might have implications for their future. The hardware market is more competitive than it used to be and about to get a hell of a lot more competitive, the casual side particularly.Sorry but Nintendo has always been the front running innovator when it comes to gaming. Other companies always pawn them off as some "gimmick" or "non hardcore gamer" whatever the hell that means.

I seriously wouldn't mind if Nintendo went hand held only. Give me a nice HD hand held that has an HDMI port that I can hook up to my TV if I so choose.
Hence the HDMI hook up. They could truly make it the console you could take ANYWHERE.
