I used to LOVE Nickelodeon when i was a kid, I dont think I changed the channel ever!

Some of my favourites: Clarissa Explains it all, Secret Life of Alison Mack, Pete and Pete, Are you afraid of the Dark, Renford Rejects, Doug, Rugrats, Rocko's modern life, Ren and Stimpy,Ahh! Real Monsters and I'm probably missing a ton of other shows!

The main problems that I have w/ Nickelodeon today besides the elimination of SNICK:
*Rerunning/marathoning the same old shows.

*Not enough variety like in the past (it seems like the bulk of the shows that has gotten a ton of backing recently are tween, girl-centric sitcoms like "Zoey 101", "iCarly", "True Jackson", and "Unfabulous").

*Too much realiance on "Spongebob" and "Fairly Odd Parents" in the Nicktoons department.

*Trying to copy or one up Disney like making their own "High School Musical".

*Not enough "edgy", unconventional live-action shows like "Ned's Declassified..."

I'm a guy but I did enjoy Unfabulous, I watch repeats more now than the show when it was actually on...other shows I thought were okay were Drake & Josh, and Ned's Declassified...I lump these 3 together mostly because they ran around the same time...and made up the teen block together...

...but they seem, now more than ever, to be taking a cue from Disney with the more girl centered shows...and of course with Spectacular! or whatever its called...

...I agree with the Poster who said Snick was also better when it was a sitcom...(I prefer Clarissa...)...a toon ( I loved the original Rugrats pre-Dil and Ren & Stimpy is still one of my all time faves), Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and All That!...Thats my ideal line-up...

The 90's and early 2000's were the golden age of Nick. That whole channel went to hell. That station was a huge part of my childhood in temrs of television.

Keenan and Kel kicked so much ass. So did All That, Aah! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Are You Afraid of the Dark (this scared the crap out of me), Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Doug (Classic), etc.

After Ren & Stimpy and the Original Rugrats...my fave Nicktoons are Rocko, Monsters, and Doug...

...Have any of those been released on DVD yet...R&S is isn't it, and most likely Rugrats? But the Others?

I would love a classic Nickelodeon network with all the old shows on it.

my fave shows were
-Angry Beavers (da shiz)
-All That (with the original/earlier cast only),
-Rugrats
-Rocko's Modern Life
-KaBlam
... and Hey Arnold was pretty good too

Bringin the thread back to life....hopefully. Everyone talks about "Salute your Shorts", and for good season, but very few people remember "Hey Dude". Even fewer people remember "Welcome, Freshmen". I still remember every word from the "Roundhouse" theme. God, Nick used to be great!

I never liked any of the live action shows (most likely because I was 3 or so when they were still on) but Rocko, Angry Beavers, Rugrats & the other cartoons rocked. I hate Nick now everything on it is crap & they ruined Spongebob & Fairly Odd Parents by getting new sucky writers. Shout out to Invader Zim (the funniest "kid" show ever IMO) which missed the '90s mark by two years.

i wish they had a channel called Nickelodeon 1990's
i would subscribe to that, i have Nick 2 and Nick Toons but now they dont show old nick anymore :(

I remember all of those actually. :woot:

But The Adventures of Pete and Pete was the greatest live action show Nick ever did.:o

Some of my other favorites were Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, as well as others.

I remember both Hey Dude and Welcome Freshman. I remember more about Welcome Freshman than some of the cast members, I bet.

i remember watching that in the theaters
good times, good times

Rugrats all the way, that show had alot of heart. Doug is right up there too. Later on it was Hey Arnold!.

does anyone remember Legends of the Hidden Temple

"In the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey"

Yes.

There was actually a rather funny [but not SHH friendy] flash cartoon made a while back about it.

on newgrounds or some site like that?

Turkey Televison

Out of Control

went way back!!!!

Figure It Out was good, especially when Colin Mochrie was the head panelist.

No mention of Wild and Crazy Kidz yet?

That show was awesome. I wish I could have gotten to smash RC cars with a hammer.
