The Nightwing OYL Discussion Thread

Wolfman is'nt improving this crap, i'm dropping it today.

the story in this annual should have been the first story out of OYL... now we know why dick is all "i need to find myself, waaaaaa! waaaaa!"

would have made much more sense...

i guess "finding himself" involved sleeping with a super-skank and outting his identity on a runway as a male model.

apparently in bruce jones's world it is acceptable... and come on... sleeping with super-skanks is never a bad thing when youre trying to get over a girl lol

"I don't know wha you did to me last night, but I can't feel my legs now."

classic

and Robin hiding his Boy Wonder with his cape was hilarious too

Well that was definitely the best Nightwing comic I have ever read. That was more or less the one thing I actually wanted to know in OYL and now that I know what happened I'm glad they didn't kill him off.

Although that one part when Dick got back after Barbara got shot was pretty messed up.

Not the comic: (seriously, it's not the comic)
I told you it wasn't the comic, I just wanted to restate that Nightwing Annual #2 is the best comic ever

he wasn't trying to get over her, though. he was supposed to be finding himself and he ended up finding his cock inside a woman who strongly resembled the woman he left. dude's man-****e, plain and simple.

yeah, those were both great moments. i noticed they modernized his pixie boots to look more like sneakers in one of the flashbacks.

I always liked Nightwing but is it weird that it bothered me after reading Nightwing Annual 2, that Dick is a cheater? I mean he was suppose to be marrying Starfire and all. I guess I just have a thing against that even if I do like Barbara more than her. :o

Ok, I found the picture that refers to this page(courtesy of a newsarama poster) :

Now what issue is this one in? :

I don't think it would be in any issue, or should I say maybe it shouldn't be. It would have portrayed Dick as a cheater going into the wedding of him and Starfire.

is he admitting that he divulged his secret identity to get some poon whe he was attending hudson university? what the hell?

While I enjoyed the story of Annual #2 I thought the writing itself was pretty crappy and extremely corny at times.
I think I'm done with Nightwing.

I kind of enjoyed the annual, but I also don't like the development of Dick having cheated with Babs on Kory before their wedding. That was just lame. I did like the flashback with Mad Quilt because of the teenage embarassment and when Babs met Kory.

I dropped Nightwing some while ago. Even though Wolfman's writing made the character worthwhile again, the title just didn't grab me as it used to. I'm pretty sure I even dropped it after two/three issues. I just kinda forgot about it.

I like how they developed Robin's costume as he got older...

Same here. I just haven't been interested in Nightwing. Between his ******ed behavior during Jones' run and his apparent condonation of lethal force as leader of the Outsiders, he's just not the Dick I'd enjoy reading about anymore. This annual emphasized that. Dick lived up to his name in this annual, sleeping with Babs while engaged to Kory, leaving Babs to go on a spiritual quest with Bruce, only to leave Bruce and come back to Gotham after a short while, coming back to "find himself" by sleeping around and being a jerk, etc. Babs was a bit pushy herself in the ending of the annual, too. Just a sad, sad end to something that could've been a great development in the lives of both characters. :o

Plus, it looks like a Perez' era titan is about to die and they need someway to get babs and dick together so I bet they kill starfire off

did anyone else notice the editorial ****-up in issue #135? it's on page 27. there's a panel with the wayne enterprises building and instead of it saying "wayne enterprises" on the marquee, someone scribbled "put in here 'wayne enterprises". not a big deal but i found it amusing.

Heh, I almost wish I were still reading Nightwing so I could see that. Almost. ;)

you still probably wouldn't like it. this arc's been pretty slow. it's about some **** from his past where he hooked up with metal eddie and his gang of juvenile delinquents, lost his virginity to eddie's girl (not to be confused with jessie's girl) and the new vigilante is holding him hostage and grilling him about it. plus, ingle didn't draw this one. the art's by someone named jon bosco, who's so-so.
