Is that Wilhelm's band?

Not that I'm aware of. The rhythm guitarist/keyboardist is an acquaintance of mine from another board I post on. That's how I found out about them. I'm going to try and catch them in concert sometime this Fall if I make it out to SF like I'm hoping.

TruthTeller wondered if that band I shared above, Mouth To Mouth, was Wilhem's band, based on Wilhelm's response to my post and our subsequent exchange. :)

Glen Burtnik Anything you've heard by him probably was from his run in Styx or was sung by somebody else.

Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough and Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man are a few hits that he's co-written.

The Serpents- A Welsh supergroup made up of 30+ members from other obscure bands in the UK. It's included John Lawrence from Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Gruff from Super Furry Animals, Will Sergeant from Echo and the Bunnymen. Their album "You've Just Been Poisoned By The Serpents" is a masterpiece, one of the greatest experimental albums ever made IMO.

Windy And Carl- A duo from Michigan, pretty far out experimental music

Acid Mothers Temple- Some freaky Japanese ****, sometimes I'm a little afraid to put this in my CD player.

Here is some semi-obscure bands/albums I recommend:

Autechre- Tri Repetae++

so clever:o:up:
so's the album.

its a great little tongue in cheek album (that rocks).

its also happens to be a side project of Josh Homme (of the Queens of the Stone Age)

I'd like to recommend a great local (Omaha) band that has national appeal. They're called the '89 Cubs and they're on Slowdance Records. They sound like a cross between Superchunk, Jawbox and Drive Like Jehu, among many others. They're comprised of members of The Desaparacidos, The Good Life and The Red Menace. Their album is called "There Are Giants In The Earth". They do great live shows! Check 'em out!

Band name/reccomended album/reccomended songs

Dredg/Catch Without Arms/Ode to the Sun, Hungover on a Tuesday, Jamais Vu

Minus the Bear/Menos el Oso/The Fix, El Torrente, Pachuca Sunrise

Both very good choices, but also check out Dredg's other album El Cielo. It's much more of a unique experience.

New:

Pixies - albums: Come On Pilgrim, Surfer Rosa, Doolittle

Uncle Tupelo - albums: No Depression, various other stuff
