I love we're possibly getting more Spider-Man fighting crime on the side (outside of the Lizard) a lot more than the short montage in Raimi's first film...

They worked on The Lizard design along with his Lizard henchman as well as the prosthetic work for pre-Lizards Connor.
ok thanks. i think sonyimageworks did a good job on the lizard. but Wbb and sony made the right artistic choices how the skin looks.
There are ways around that... lord of the rings is a good example
Only if they aren't physically interacting much. That shot of them going into the water could never be accomplished unless at least one of them is CGI.

10/10.
Possibly the best movie trailer I've ever seen.
Ever.
I 100% mean that, not kidding in the slightest.
Congrats Sony, you did the impossible: get me just as excited for something else as I am the Avengers.
Seriously, for a few months now I kind of had this film on the backburner of my mind and didn't put much thought to it simply because the Avengers was so omni-present and looming.
This trailer blew my balls off and reminded me why I ****ing love Spider-man so much and why Peter Parker is my favorite fictional character of all time.
Thank you, Sony, Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield, and co. I can't say that enough.

First of all.. :wow: aaah!!!! :awesome: :hrt:!!

And second: when are the HQ stills coming!!?

I liked the trailer overall, but I think Avengers SB spot is the best one so far.

You sound like my boy who I was with yesterday. He is extremely pumped for this flick because he just wasn't a fan of the previous series..reason why? No wise cracking spidey..I know it may seem small but that one factor tainted his whole view on the trilogy as a whole and I can't say I blame him

Its not hard to understand why.

The wisecracks are a fundamental character trait that they made little to no effort with to convey. If they turned batman into a wise cracking motor-mouth, it wouldn't be batman.
Raimi did some good things with his take but overall, they were lacking in a major way and could have done much better but decided to settle for mediocrity and fooled the world into thinking mediocrity is excellence. Now, Marc Webb appears to have took a dump on all the crap that Raimi was spewing out as not being possible. Marc Webb has balls, something Raimi lacked with his movies.

yup..thats key to his character and taking it away just makes it feel like I'm watching someone in a spidey suit instead of actually watching spidey. That's why I said I don't blame him for not liking the series. You have no idea how many times I had to defend spidey when some of my crew would say he's boring all because of what they saw in the movies lol

While I generally agree with you, Raimi didn't do a terrible job. The missteps he took were glaringly obvious but he doesn't get enough credit anymore for all he got right.
Calling his movies mediocre I also find a stretch. They are some of the most well-recieved superhero blockbusters of all time, both financially and critically. You could argue they were mediocre representations of the character, to which I would probably agree with you, but calling his movies 'crap' is taking it a little far.

What can I say? It's a ****ing amazing trailer!

I love most of it! Though, I still have to get used to Andrew's voice and the look of Lizard! Except for that, I found everything to be perfect!

New trailer was good but then again I don't think anyone expected it to be a bad trailer. We'll see in a few months.

The suit looked great in action.
Hopefully the naysayers will shut up about it.
Most anticipated movie of the year by far, even before the trailers came out lol

I like how you hear one quip in a 2 1/2 minute trailer and then that somehow makes Raimi's movies crap:dry: Then again you have been spewing that crap on here for a while now so it's not surprising. I wouldn't be shocked if we hear just a couple of more quips from Spider-Man than any of the previous movies. Spider-Man is a quipster but it's not like Raimi made him Batman-esque and totally ruined the character. He joked...just not during the major battle in each act. That would have broke the tension and I would bet you don't hear a quip every 10 seconds during his battles with the Lizard in this movie.

Weren't you also angry about Spider-Man being unmakes by the public in Raimi's movies? No peep about that now?

I personally feel that Andrew Garfield perfectly captures the essence that is Peter Parker. He looks both nerdy and clumsy, yet at the same time fit, lean, and quick, like he could defend himself. He can sell both the toughness and the rigidity of the character as well as the vulnerability that makes Peter Parker so appealing.
All that to say...his voice matches up perfectly with what I would imagine the character to sound like. I had no trouble buying into it. Especially with the scene with the carjacker. He delivered those two lines perfectly, I laugh out loud every time I hear them.

Suit looks better in action because you can't see the dumb stuff they did to it...you just see the blurs of color (which they did do a good job on...I love the colors). But no, still hate the suit. If that was the previous suit with the new colors TOMG:wow:

I had no troubles with his voice....Peter Parker is timid and submissive and Spider-Man is boisterous but it's still Peter Parker under there...so it's not like his voice as Spider-Man is going to be totally different.

It's hard to see the suit in pitch darkness....

The trailer is good...but I hope Spider-Man swings when its sunny outside...not just night or cloudy day.

The trailer is pretty good, though...better Peter characterization.

One things I'm concerned about is they seem to play the parent's death up more than Uncle Ben's death. Does Uncle Ben even die in this movie?

He does die and I think the reason the trailer emphasizes his parents is because they really want to sell the untold story angle and if u play up his uncle dying, that doesn't say "untold story." They have to angle it so that it feels different enough than the last trilogy

I wasn't that keen on the movie at first and the first trailer had a "meh" effect on me. I just was not excited at a retelling of this origin again. And then i watched the newest trailer and I AM SOLD. SOLD I TELL YOU. I am very very fond of Sam Raimi's movies but this one looks great imo. Andrew Garfield looks great and the lizard looks menacing. I'm officially excited for this film.

Fair point to be honest lol.
Still think we'll get daylight scenes with the suit though.
And this film is the reason why I haven't watched any other superhero films on my blu-ray yet LOL, I want this to be the first :woot:
