Looking at Lions Gate's history with "Man-Thing", "Alone in the Dark" and a less than inspired "Punisher", they really could use the star power.

I'd go with Famke Janssen. Her Russian accent in GoldenEye was fun, and would certainly be good enough for this kind of work. I don't see her X-Men work being a problem, either. I doubt that they'd be a film situation where the two would cross over.

I agree about avoiding Kate Beckinsale. I loath her.

There's been some really good choices. I think the ideal choice realistically would be Milla Jovovich due to the realism of her background. That said however, Eliza Dushku wouldn't be a bad choice either. Also, everyone knows that Daredevil and The Black Widow had a serious relationship. I wonder if there would be any alluding to that in a film.

Rebecca Romijn is always a good choice. She just has a superhero look and honestly could get away with doing a lot of roles if she wanted to.

Evangeline Lilly. Didn't see that one coming, but now that you posted some pictures, and compared her to Natasha Romanov, then you could realistically make me a believer. She's got the look.

Famke Janssen. Definitely. Too bad she's already Jean Grey. She'd make a great Black Widow.

I'm also going to throw in Izabella Scorupco into that mix. She's got beauty to match any of the aforementioned, as well as the physical capabilities.

We've seen quite a few names mentioned here where the actress has been in previous comic adaptation movies, but one name that's slipped by is Melinda Clarke's (she was the uber-commando b*tch from Spawn).

Melinda Clarke wouldn't be my first choice, but she'd be in my top 5.

As for her acting, she's one of those B-actresses that has done just about every role under the sun. She was nominated for a best young artist award and also won a film festival award for some movie that you'd NEVER find at your local video store. She's done guest appearances on quite a few shows (you've probably already seen her but just can't remember her name) and was a fan favorite when she was on CSI so they brought her back for a second show. You can watch Melinda on TV currently starring in the "O.C." and judge for yourself.

Surprisingly, she also did a passable Romanian accent when she did voice work on the "Mission: Impossible" video game. <bonus marks >

Milla's been said quite a few times. I'm not sure if her personality is a good fit for the Natasha character though. Giving her the role just based on having lived in the Ukraine as a toddler just doesn't sit well with me.
