yeah, a promo pic of Routh completely "superfied" is only gonna make its way online when the anxiety over the wait for it is at its peak... :p

Wasn't the first official Batman picture released in Entertainment Weekly? Maybe the same will happen with Superman.

Edit: Official Bale announcement was September 11, 2003. Shooting started March 2004. The first official Batman picture came out April 2004. Maybe we'll get an official Superman picture one month after Superman starts shooting.

Shooting actually started in February for Batman.

shall we go hibernate now? :D

There are still lots of cool stuff coming ouy between now and then, but I could hibernate from now until June 17th 2004 Batman Begins and then go back into hibernation after seeing that 30-40 times and then get back up in 2006 right on cue for Superman: Returns, well I would need to pre-order tickets beforehand though to make sure I get a seat :)

Tom Welling: Does the episode of Smallville called Jinx. :vomit:
Actually, I really liked that episode.

The portrayal of Mxyzptlk may not have been what a lot of fans liked, but I gotta say Tom did an excellent job acting in that as did John Schneider.

Excellent episode, but for a Routh thread, there's an awful lot of discussion about TW in here...

Ruthmarks prediction that turning down a supes role is worse for your career than accepting one...

Then somebody had to turn it around and say that ... ahem.. TW's career is soon to be in the toilet because... well, you know.

Not that I agree with that, or anything.

Routh's career may just be victim of the cape as much as anyone else's was, or taking the role could be the best thing for him. It's far too soon to tell.

And my intended target was Josh Hartnett, who I think everyone here has good reason to dislike. :)

As for Routh, only time will tell ...

someone talking about me??? :D

btw, i do think josh looks like the fleisher's superman after watching wicker park. ;)

A worthy target, btw. He can't act his way outta a paper bag, looks notwithstanding...

He's better looking than Josh, anyway. He's already got a leg up on him...

every movie i've seen hartnett in he seems to have a blank stare...like he's trying to remember his lines as he's saying them...

that's his selling point, you know?

btw, if i'm not mistaken, routh has done a film (supporting role or small role) and will be aired early next year. any news on this?

Sounds like a pretty dark film, but I guess that's no surprise given the title and the subject matter.

Who does Brandon play? The IMDB list for the cast doesn't have a character name next to his name.

Your link is broken, btw. I fixed it above.

No clue who he plays. Probably someone insignificant, heh.

Edit: Fixed the link too. Thanks.

hmmm... the director didn't see him shinning as a bright new 'STAR'? hmmm... make me wonder...

As for any of the rest of the pretenders to the throne:
John Haymes Newton-Had the look and the voice, but the emotional range of a brick

Gerard Christopher-not the right speech patterns, which is important as anything in my book (I mean look at how effective Keaton's voice was for Batman, it totally detracted attention from his receding hairline), and not too far above Newton in the acting department.

Dean Cain-Get me a Ralf sack on this one. The acting was just epic from this guy. Plus his face didn't look right and he had the voice timbre of a 12-year old.

If Routh sidesteps these examples we should be in for a treat, or at least a lack of embarrasment. Aside from Reeve the only good Supermen of the last umpteen years are Tim Daly and George Newbern, and they're animated. Sad, dude. Just sad.

this is one of the main reasons, i'm so concern about this movie. dean cain really put me in shame... btw, Mr. Routh, pls make me proud to be a superman fan!!! don't fail us!!!

I don't understand your logic. So the director of Reeve's first film didn't see him as a 'bright new STAR' also? They were both struggling actors. You expect people to be discovered just like that? *snaps fingers*

Cain was a good CK. His Superman wasn't.

It would have to be.... the movie site doesn't even list his character's name. The movie villains killed girls, so I guess he doesn't play a victim and that's good.

Prolly the only career curse worse than wearing blue tights is dying in your first film... ;)

I was curious so I clicked it and it didn't work.. no problemo.

my logic is based on people appreciate talent. btw, reeve was the lead role in the soap opera and threathe in his early years. :o

c'mon, any regular actors can preform a better job than cain for CK!
