Uhhhh we're rubbing it in the face of trolls like Godman who told us once a movie starts off rotten on RT then it stays rotten.

I knew I was seeing things when a GL image popped up in this thread. I personally don't care, it's just funny is all, the emotional spectrum of this thread.

Rubbing anything in is lame imo. From Box office to critical praise.

It'll probably finish at about 150%, mirroring Steve Rogers' own life how he started at nothing in the 30%s and 40%s and then grew to be the superhuman movie he is today.

Yes. I like this post.

Ya they have not been watching RT then lol. It happens all the time. Perfect example was The Prestige it originally for a while was like in the 30% range, and ended in the high 70's.

That's amazing! That's literelly the exact example I was going to give.

Okay, I'm psyched for Cap! Seeing the critics love it, for the most part, and seeing that Ed Brubaker loved it, well...that's all I need to know. Also, I notice the bad reviews seem tobe by people don't "get" Cap, as another poster said. I'm taking an SUV load of people to see it on Saturday for a matinee. The only thing I'm unsure of is, 2-D or 3-D!

I only read one review that addressed the 3-D, and it said that it was not good. However, I had heard the same thing about Thor's 3-D and I didn't think it was bad at all, (just nothing flying out at the Camera). So, I guess take it for what you will.:yay:

It's 71% for Top Critics, the average being 7.4. Which means it should be around a 74 on Metacritic when they continue to update it.

Truthfully, there were so many people in that GL forum talking bad about Thor and Captain America .... so are you really that surprised?

Thanks, man! 2-D it will be!! Cheaper... ;)

Whenever godman posts just post a y u no meme untill he gets bored and leaves :p

Yet once again showing that Marvel Studios doesn't make crap movies.....PERIOD.

They've made 5 films in a row and NONE OF THEM are rotten.
Did you see Iron Man 2 , otr are you a stockholder for disney?

Need to break through the 70% wall.

It will take between 3 to 4 more postive votes with no negatives to Achieve it (depending if they round up or not). :yay:

My question is, since TF3 is making a ridiculous amount of money after coming off of 2 of the worst films ever made, how come people say Xmen first class only suffered because it came off bad sequels?

fastest film ever to hit half a million here we come.

Irony?

I have no idea how RT determine when a review is rotten or not, but it's evident it's not based on critics actual scorings as from what I've seen there the ratings for films never really match the fresh/rotten ratio.

Does seem odd how a 2.5/5 rating for one film has been counted as fresh, but for another it gets counted as rotten (if under 60% is rotten then all films with a 2.5 should get that).
Doubtful they read each review to determine it as well.

Anyways, if RT have been deliberately doctoring the numbers that is rather naughty of them.

I thought the critics themselves marked their reviews as fresh or rotten while submitting it to Rotten Tomatoes.

That's my understanding as well. There have been times where a critic has made a mistake and re-marked a review after submitting it to RT.

Iron Man 2 wasn't THAT horrible of a movie, it still was enjoyable and entertaining to watch.

Yeah, I don't know why there is so much hate for Iron Man 2. I mean sure it wasn't as good as part 1 and it may be the worst Marvel made movie to date, but I still find it better then many of the Comic Book Movies we were getting before Marvel started making their own movies. So, I would still rate it as "Fair" (not terrible, not great).

LOL Even Michael Phillips liked it o_O? Surprises all around! His review is now up on RT

Rotten Tomatoes is now at 67%.

I'm only surprised by people denying it

People denying what? This started long ago in the GL threads. They took it's failure like a spoiled sport and started trashing on Thor and how they thought Cap would turn out. Fact.

Irony?
It was an honest question.

Both franchises were in a similar situation, yet it only affected one of them. It was a statement that either previous installments have nothing to do with a films success or perhaps(and more accuratly) the amount that people hated TF2 was greatly overstated. (XFC being my favorite film all year)

And then I went on to successfully predict that the film would be the fastest to reach that box office number.

Irony would be "haha such and such film sucks and such and such film is better complete with gif or jpeg illustrating the point."

I'm not about to hi jack this thread however.

Top Critics are at 10 positive and 4 negative. Which is just under 72% positive.
