Debates Are Over!
Voting May Begin!!!
Voting May Begin!!!
Okay, I rarely come on this thread since it's the debates themselves that interest me, but what's goin on with Witchking? Did he miss all 5 matches this week? Is he coming back next week? Did he spontaneously combust?
I'm excited. After next week I'm back on first shift for the duration of the summer while the kids are out of school. I'm a janitor for a middle school these days and will probably make a living of it. The work is supposed to be less tedious and I'll actually get to see my family on more than just the weekends. It'll suck though because Paige, my oldest daughter, starts kindergarden this coming year. So once I go back to 2nd shift I'll get up, take my daughter to school, and then I won't see her again until I get up to do it again in the next morning. I'm a major daddy guy so that's going to suck.
The good news though is that my boss's boss was talking to me last week, and though I've only been doing this job since late November, he wants me to take the custodian test (my boss's level) so I can become management. Now, it's a long drawn out process but it greatly increases my chances of going first shift. If i wait for a first shift opening as a janitor it could be 9 or 10 years. If I try custodian I can be on first shift in maybe 2-4 years. That way I won't miss so much of my daughters's growing up. I told him I want to but that I'm going to wait until the next test comes around next year so that I can really get an idea of the summer work and all the things that I'm not comfortable with yet. If i'm going to retire in the school system I don't want to rush into things I'm not ready for. He seemed to respect that.
It also helps that starting pay is $17 an hour, which will dramatically help my retirement in the end, and for a guy who never had the oppertunity to go to college, that's pretty good.
I have an hour before I have to leave for work, I can try to get one of those threads started for you, Phaed. I'll start thread 4. And since I'm only doing one thread I won't bother with the CoMarvels name.
I have said my peace and although I believe that most wouldn't let another voters vote sway them, there is always the potential that it could affect even one critical deciding vote. I also thought it was a BS statement that shouldn't have been stated since I 100% do not agree with. I have seen other people do the same thing and really I would do the same thing tomorrow or any other day if someone states something that is incorrect. If someone states Iron Man beat Galactus in an arm wrestle, would you just leave it?
Yes, I would leave it. Now, someone else can go ahead and make a comment...and, that's been done before; but, our rules state that when debating is over, we are not allowed to leave a comment on our matches.
And, I don't find it a BS statement. He had amnesia, and as he wouldn't have his Time Gem, he wouldn't have access to his memories. To me, he acted child like, and that's an effect of his amnesia to me. Now, if he was allowed to have access to his Time Gem, I might think very differently. But, he wouldn't have it, just as he didn't have it last season. To compare Iron Man defeating Galactus in an arm wrestling contest to my interpretation of a character's memory and interaction with his teammates are so completely different.
