Isn't Apocolypse a bit too uber given this is a one on one tournament?

I'm not sure when we'll be starting this shindig just yet. Once we get the list finalized then I figure we'll take a week or so and promote until we get a good number of players who want to participate, then we'll start getting the draft lists together. So probably a month or so before that point.


As for Apocalypse... I don't think so. Magneto took him out solo during the Age of Apocalypse. Cyclops took him out solo during the Wrath of Apocalypse. He's a top tier but I don't think he's too uber.

Ahab - How does locking onto a genetic structure work? Does he just take aim, and that's it, or does he need a sample of his target?

I don't know. I'll have to root through some comics tomarrow unless anyone else knows for sure. I've not really read a lot of Ahab's stuff.

Gauntlet (Dark Riders) The bio I found says he has powers, but their not defined. What are they?

He's mostly know for his marksmanship, his ability to sniper people, his high tech alien weaponry, cybernetic targeting eye, and his enhanced strength senses speed and such that he got through terrigenis (as he's an inhuman). He's kinda like a slightly above peak condition human whose an expert marksman with the best toys. And he has no remorse over killing someone.

Trevor Fitzroy How do we handle any time traveling

I'd say no time traveling unless you can do so without leaving the location... which would be very hard. Fitzroy's thing though is that he can open portals through time AFTER he drains the life of someone. So if he's opening time portals, then his opponant's already dead and the match is already over anyway. During the match he can drain someone of their life essence with a touch and has suits of armor that can hold up to a physical brawl anyone shy of Colossus levle bruits and such.

This one's dramatically differant. He's completely insane, breath's fire, organic wings (not metal like Archangel) and he's embraced his psychopathic tendancies and will kill on a whim.

Cerebro - There's some debate on whether or not he can use the X-Men's powers and how long it takes to create X-Men of his own, but even without that he's been shown to instantly create duplicates of himself, and with the level of strength he has added to his insane healing ability he's still an awsome character. He's what you get if you have maybe Colossus level strength (I'm estimating on that), Wolverine's healing factor, and Multiple Man's ability.

Thing is, I want to say he was effective against some of the non-mutants of whatever world Queen Jean or whatever her name was was ruling. I don't have the issues anymore though so I really have no clue. The lack of information pretty much rules him out though. That sucks.

Well, he does sound like an interesting character. Apocalypse would have a tough time taking him out, but Nick Fury could just put a bullet in his brain and move on.

I must have still been in the process of finding bios. There are now bios for Sonia and Uniscone above. Enjoy.

As for time travel... they can't leave the location or remove someone else from the location so time travel is obviously a no no I'd say (unless it's one of those 3 second time travel deals, that's debatably okay). Fitzroy's time travel powers aren't relevent here because he has to drain life forces to open a time portal. If he's opened a time portal that means he's already drained the life from his opponant and he's already won the match. So time traveling isn't an issue with Fitzroy in this tournament.

Fitzroy does still have his armors though, as well as his ability to drain a person's life at a touch. That's a major powerful ability, instant kill, but he's also extremely cocky and that can be manipulated.

And there's a character I'm thinking off that could be great, but I can't find a single bio on him. His name is Clay and he was in the Madrox mini (X-Factor's predicessor). He was an assassin hit man with a mean streak... and Jamie Madrox's multiplying powers. So instead of having 100 well meaning Madroxs, you could have 100 Hitmen. He would freakin' rock, but I can find no bio whatsoever!

Cipher - This character has been pretty much just introduced, and too much remains a mystery. (And, the majority has just been told to us in this week's Young X-Men.) I'll put under Possible...but, I might be inclined to say Drop if it's a three-way tie.

Anole - I think this character is best in a group; but, on his own, I'm not impressed.
Ink - Might be too difficult. You would have to know what each of his tattoos are. Remember, it's not his mutant power...a mutant who makes the tattoos gave him the power of just whatever tattoos he has on him at this point in time. He cannot make any new tattoos. And, yes, Phoenix tattoo is too powerful to include the newer appearances in Young X-Men.
Darwin - Not too uber, just this character is one of those stalemate characters, where the person who has him can state the he hasn't been taken out of the contest due to his ability to adapt to any situation.

Ink's powers are pretty set actually, and easy to figure out. That Wiki link actually lays them out easily enough... again, we'd have to go without the Phoenix and Healing powers though.

And as for Caliban... he's currently depowered because he's dead. Death does that to you . He died during Messiah Complex. Before that he was depowered of the Apocalypse additions, but not his mutant powers. But going by what you said, it does raise a valid thought... if W approves him we'll have to figure out what powerset we want. I personally like him as Pestilence myself. The ruthlessness of the Apocalypse Hound mindset, the strength of the Apocalypse addition, the Pestilence powers to make others sick, the mutant tracking ability, and the intelligence of a normal person (as apposed to the dumb Caliban during his X-Force days).
