Hey guys,

at this point I have only a handful of characters left, and really only one that I give a crap about. And while Doom is one of my fav characters, I have now successively lost numerous rounds that I was pretty darned sure I'd win. While I appreciate the "good debate" comments a number of you have sent my way, the fact is that the only matches I've won were two clear gimmes that I could hardly have lost even had I not debated, which is rather discouraging.

So at this juncture I'm going to leave the contest too. Sorry I was in it for so short a time everyone, but frankly I don't have any desire left to argue for characters I don't care about, particularly with such a poor start and there being stuff I'd rather spend my time on.

Thanks for including me for a brief time though, and I hope my departure isn't too inconvenient.

Sorry to go missing last week guys. My sister goes to school school (AMDA) in New York and is home now for two weeks. I've been hanging out with her as well as other real life things that drag me away from the hype.

It was great to have you debating, Random. I thought you brought a lot to the contest, and even though it was brief, you did a great job. You'll be missed.

Well, I was planning on doing my writeups during work today. But I forgot I had training (and since I'm teaching the class, I can't really skip out ). So I'll work on getting everything up tonight (might have some time in the afternoon).

Ok, so there are 8 of us left...that means, many of us are going to have a hell of a lot of write-ups in our future. With Random out, I'll go ahead and take his two characters that he got in Vanguard's characters that were left out last time. (For those who don't remember, I left myself off the list. Now, with so few participants, I figure I better get in the dealing; so, as not to burden all of you with more characters.)

I want to make sure this week's matches get taken care of. So, I'll be handing out characters soon.

Ok, I found out that Moonstone advanced, and Thing was WitchKing's character...so, both of those characters are also owned by Random.

Now, we have four matches that need debating this week:

The Hood vs. Thialfi

Mr Hyde vs. D'Spayre

Baron Strucker vs. Zhou Cheng

Thread 3

Boomerang vs. Maelstrom

Now, I have The Hood; so, I'll have a debate up by tomorrow. We need someone to debate vs. JH with Baron Strucker vs. Zhou Cheng. JH, you only have 1 match this week...would you like to handle Mr. Hyde? You can have Boomerang; but, I have a feeling that one is kind of a hard-to-win match.

So, if anyone would like to debate for Baron Strucker or Boomerang, say I.

Wait so we're letting people call characters instead of just handing them out? Cause I want Radioactive Man if that's the case. I feel like I got jipped every other handout.

We're just handing out the characters for this week right now. Since I didn't participate in the last handout of Vanguard's characters, I just put my name with Random Havoc's. Then, I am hoping someone will try and debate the remaining characters for this week.

The handouts for the rest will be done before the start of the final week of Round 1.

Phaed the only chatracter I would have taken out of those 4 would have been the Hood so none of the others in this weeks list interest me.

Anyways, the Hood is going down.

Ok, I got a quick debate up for The Hood. I probably won't do much beyond just doing an opening debate; that way, those who believe he'd win will have a chance to vote for him.

We still need opening debates for the following:

Mr Hyde vs. D'Spayre

Baron Strucker vs. Zhou Cheng

Boomerang vs. Maelstrom

If nobody takes them, I'll try and get something quickly up; and, if they go on, I'll probably just put them in the mix to be given away. (But, someone decides to debate them, you can then keep them, and it won't take away from your possibility of getting another character later.)

I posted an opening for Strucker. It'd be a shame for such a good character to go down without a fight. Especially in a rematch.

Thanks, Wieg! He's probably the best of that group. I'd hate to see him not go down fighting, especially with such a great first debate.

Also, I finally surpassed JH in this thread with post count. It took a lot of blabbing....and, a good thing he's usually busy with life, unlike me.

And so we're just basically offering out a friendly debate without owning Random's characters for this week and next right? Just to give them a shot and not actually owning them?

I'll look at the Hyde match and see what I can get up.

Could someone point my to my matches next week? From Thursday until Tuesday I likely won't be online at all, and if that happens, I'd like to get my matches ready and pm'd to Phaed or JH now.

The reason? I just bought my first house, and, once I get the keys Thursday, we're going to be spending the entire weekend getting it ready and moving everything into it so I can get the cash for keys deal.

Awesome! Congradulations W. I'm eager for that little experience myself, but it'll be a few years off at least. I'll get your matches together momentarilly.

Also, I don't really have anything for Hyde. The few ideas I have are insanely thin and would have to really be debated to have substance, something I don't have time for at the moment unfortunately.

And that was my problem with both Boomerang and Hyde. If they were already my characters, I'd put the debating effort into them. But I don't think either can get passed their next set of opponents even if they get through this week. At least, not without committed debating.

Basically, I'm offering THIS WEEK ONLY if you debate the character, you can keep the character. So, if Wiegeabo wins with Baron Strucker, I think it's fair to let him keep him. I knew if I handed out this week's characters, they would probably not get debated. This was the best chance to give them a chance. (As for The Hood, as I explained, I just took Random's name in the Vanguard characters, since I didn't participate in that or the last one...at this point, it doesn't look like I'll have any more characters than any of you.)

But, by Friday, I'll hand out the rest.

The only other difference will be if I debate Boomerang or Mr. Hyde...if they win, I'll hand them out. But, if someone else wants to debate them...and, they win...they can keep them. (I really don't give either of those characters a big chance of winning...but, I thought the owner of Mr. Hyde last season did a good job with him; so, he might stand a chance.)
