The Official Cyborg suit thread

I was still holding out hope for the use of blue like the Teen Titans toons.

I need to see more of this suit to judge it properly. I do like the fact that it looks like an actual augmentation as opposed to pieces of armor, though I'm not sure I like how dark the material is, am not happy with the apparent lack of logo and with white/blue glowing eye instead of his usual red one.

Got a better look at it and I've decided that I really don't like this costume. It looks like TDK batsuit sans the sleeves. And while I guess that this texture is supposed to be carbon fiber, it also looks like kevlar mesh from the pecs of Nolan's batsuit:

I hope they went with this one instead, as it got the basic of how Cyborg's suit pretty much always looked right - metallic and a bit bulkier on the neck/shoulder area:

I like it much better. One above barely looks like Cyborg from comics, while this one is much closer. With the red glowing eye it would be pretty much perfect.

I've been catching up on the N52 Cyborg and I really like what they're doing with him power wise in that book. His cybernetics are nano-tech that regenerate him and they can retract under his skin. He can look like Vic Stone before the accident and sometimes he does, but for the most part he rocks his cybernetics. It's pretty sick. I hope they do stuff like that in the movie. He can tailor his armor to whatever he needs on the fly.

"As expected, Ray Fisher will not be wearing a cumbersome costume in order to resemble Cyborg's iconic-chromed look, but will instead be using a motion capture suit equipped with two orange lights, one is over his left eye and the other one over his chest area. The lights will serve a double purpose. On the one hand, they will mimic the character's comic book design, while on the other, they will serve to illuminate the props and other characters as if he was real.

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson also revealed that Cyborg will wear civilian clothes such as a hoodie and casual pants when walking about in the world."

Collider:

"Cyborg’s costume is being created digitally from the neck down but still has to be designed. Not a lot of Victor Stone from the neck down."

"Cyborg is using technology that he got from one of the Mother Boxes which was shown in Batman v Superman. His technology is mysterious and he discovers his “gun arm” in the film."

"Cyborg’s suit can enlarge when provoked or when he goes into battle mode."

"We’ll see Cyborg in civilian clothes during parts of the film. I think he wears sweatpants."

Sounds a lot like sleeker version of RoboCop than Iron Man.

There are two things I really like from what I'm hearing here:

1. Orange (in some reports red) light on both his eye and his chest, which indicates that he will have a logo on his chest after all.

2. The fact that the "suit" will be able to enlarge and become more armored (with full helmet), pleasing both - fans of a bulky Cyborg as well as fans of a sleeker one.

Bit more info on the Cyborg suit (compared to the old concept art):

"The biggest difference I can tell you with regards to Cyborg is the amount of face that is being shown. In the most up-to-date concept art we were shown on the Justice League set, only ¼ of Ray Fisher's face was actually shown, and the rest was CGI metal that was covering his entire body, with that signature glowing red eye. This concept art also gives Cyborg a dark black body suit, almost RoboCop-esque in its design. The new design has more silver worked into the body. This is the most significant difference that I saw on Cyborg. His chest had the glowing red circle (which isn't part of this concept art). The red traced through into his stomach and rib cage, and was much more pronounced than it is here (because here, it's non-existent). In multiple art pieces, we saw Cyborg rocking his massive cannon arm, too, and there will be cybernetic pieces that come out of his back and arms. It's clear that Cyborg, because he is CGI, is developing daily, and this look is very basic compared to what we were shown on the Justice League set."
