The Official Dark Avengers Thread

Dark Reign - Definitely has my attention. Will not know if I'm interested in it or not until I know exactly what the story's about.

Dark Avengers - See above.

Ultimate Avengers - Will probably check this out.

ASM #600 - Sounds great! :)

Marvel Noir - Meh.

Those first two do sound dark, but I have no interest in them, I have no interest in SI or whatever reigns afterwards. Dark Avengers I feel pretty meh about, if it is something that jumps out or something, I may try it out, but otherwise, probably not.

No interest in the Ultimates universe

It's good that we're getting a solid answer to that question in ASM, but really #600, that's like 6 or 7 months away, so whatever I guess.

Marvel Noir does have me interested, but I also recognize it could be a big ol' eye rolling disaster, but I may still try it out.

Deodato has me onboard for sure.

Have no interest in the UMU right now,but UA will get a few bucks from me since Mark being back in the sandbox should be good.

Yeah, Bendis doing anything Avengers related has me unconvinced, but Deodato handling the art will at least warrant a download. :)

DARK REIGN being kicked off by DARK AVENGERS, a Bendis led Avenger title. Hmm.

I'm kind of having my fill of dark books these days. I really don't want to have to get that. I'm more interested if MIGHTY AVENGERS is continuing and who is next up to bat when Bendis departs.

It's my understanding this will be an event. Bendis hinted that it will be bad guys that save the day here (dark illumaniti) and some will gain rule or positions of power, and the restructuring will be with heroes in the shadows once again. So you'll have the dark illumaniti which will inspire dark illumaniti shenanigans like the good one did, and dark avengers that will do dark avenger stuff. I don't think dark reign in itself is going to be the event title that will come of this, but it's an event in my eyes.

I've seen enough of bendis writing groups of villians badly to know this will do three things for certian. Sell well, write everyone out of character and suck.

I was under the impression that it was. The "aftermath" to Secret Invasion and all that.

Yes, it is the aftermath, in the sense that "The Initiative" was the aftermath of CW.

I am going to be horribly ticked if they make Emma evil again in some stupid contrived way. :cmad:

I couldnt possibly have any less interest in anything Ultimate Marvel related.

Heh I've yet to be convinced that Emma ever actually stopped being evil.
Probably cause I F***ing HATE telepaths.

With it's roster, I doubt the Evil Illuminati is going to be pure evil. With the exception of his feud with the FF, Doom's morality is more akin to "I am going to save the world. My way. Wether the world likes it or not." The Hood is down for anything that gives him a fair amount of power and respect. And even Loki would probably be okay with giving a helping had to the peoples of Earth, as long as he was given the chance to burn Asgard to the ground. I have a feeling that then "Evil Illuminati" is going to more closely resemble a more shadowy, behind the scenes version of The Authority.

Oh boy, it's the Darkly Dark Marvel of Darkitty Darkness!

I mean, what?

...At least they're shipping Millar back to the UU. Would that they could just get Bendis to follow.

Evil Illuminati

Illumi-naughty.

Which is SO unlike what we see nowadays. Villains being anti-heroes. The gray side becoming the norm. Traditional superheroes made to seem withless and pointless. Nope, never seen that from Marvel in an event or story. :o

Where is this so called picture of the Dark Avengers?
