The Official Doc Savage Thread

Tyler Mane was a wrestler in the early 90's under the name Big Sky for WCW, he was also appeared in the late 80's as Nitron. His wrestling days are far behind him and he is now an actor at this point more than anything.

You are right, they are not all roidheads, there are some that have the appearance of being natural. I haven't watched wrestling for years, since the Rock left. He was entertainment to me.

I watched a bunch when a kid (oh so long ago)....now only stop sometimes when switching channels (all the yelling and bragging turns me off...show me some guys stomping each other)....so I know there are some big dudes in it. I figure there are some who look good and can act.

The one whose made the best jump from wrestling to acting was the Rock, you can tell by the way they work the mic in wrestling, if there is a chance for an acting career.

In regards to Doc, I would say they would look for an unknown as I believe you said above, but I like Mayne.

You know, there has to be a tailor somewhere in New York who's become rich simply by making Doc's seemingly endless supply of easily ripped white shirts.

He has them made by cheap Hidalgoan labour....:woot:

the pic arent working i know doc shuns having his picture seen but this is rediculousj/k

Do you mean.....you see a red x, or that you don't like those covers.....because they aren't the best of the covers by a long shot.....but the pics are working for me.

Hey....for fans of all things pulp related.......

I went to Barnes and Noble today.....Baen Books has put out a large sized paperback with 3 reprints of "The Spider" in it. It has a Jim Steranko cover.

Tonight I will most likely watch the movie that somebody was nice enough to send me as well as dig more into the origin of Doc.

On vacation I read the Man Who Shook the Earth which I'd like to borrow some elements from.

I am really excited about the script. I have the 1st 3 scenes set up but I am debating on where I should take the story.

It should give you some pointers on what NOT to do, such as....

NO...
John Philip Sousa music
Sparkling teeth and eyes
Opaque FOS
Fat Monk
Giant cribs
.....and I'll let you figure out some more.

At the one I go to, it was in the Science Fiction section.

I wish mine did:csad:
