The Official Fables Thread

To be honest, the revelation of the Adversary's identity was extremely anti-climatic for me, since I pretty much figured who it would be, but it was still a pretty damn good issue.

I think everyone figured it out, it couldn't have been more obvious, especially after Willingham said that it was obvious...

Yeah, it was disappointing for me, since I was expecting a stunning revelation that would make me go, "Damn! How could I not have seen that?" But it ended up being:

"So you're the Adversary?"
"Yep."

I agree it was a little anti-climactic. But I think it was supposed to be.

I kinda think that Willingham was trying to show the other side of the Adversary issue. He set it up as a a more "real world" type of thing. There really wasn't a huge change like we'd been lead to believe by all the people in Fabletown. That was just their point of view. It was a more gradual change, and things just kind of fell into place. Just like it does in real life.

There is no comic on the stands right now that I await more anxiously than Fables each month.

New issue today guys.

Boy Blue kicks all kinds of ass. He could have escaped whenever he wanted too, but waited til he got what he wanted. Also love how he got Pinochio to try to get him the cloak. :D

Here's something VERY INTERESTING that I found through The Comics Reporter.

http://albert.nickerson.tripod.com/creatorsbillofrightsfables.html

If you go and read it you'll see that it's a contract for Dave Sim to do 3 pages of interior art for a graphic novel called "Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall" to be delivered to DC on or before 2/25/06.

This is awesome for two reasons:
1) It's an original Fables Graphic Novel and

2) It's Dave mother-****ing Sim doing work for it.

I seriously can't wait for this. I'm a huge fan of Sim's art (and story) and think it's awesome that he'll be doing this.

You can check out the link to see Sim's comments and questioning about the contract which is interesting in and of itself.

Awesome. The only Cerebus appearance I've read is his crossover with the Ninja Turtles, but it's all on my list. I like Sim.

I've read elsewhere now that Sim will not be doing this after all because DC won't make the contract adjustments he asked for. :(

I guess we'll just wait and see now.

From Newsarama

In his interview about Shadowpact, Bill Willingham said this

I wanted either Shadowpact or some book on a new character I would create. However, since I am already committed to write Fables and the new Jack of Fables series, and since I was determined to at least write the new Shadowpact series, Shadowpact seemed the best choice to also draw, so that my monthly commitments didn't spin entirely out of control.

Maybe I'm behind on the news, but this is the first I've heard of the Jack of Fables series.

How exciting is that? A Fables spin-off finally. My personal preference would have been a Bigby spin off, but this'll do nicely too.

Here's the original article about Jack of Fables, as well as stuff about 1,001 Nights of Snowfall.

As much as I would love a series about Bigby, Jack is better suited since he won't have any more contact with Fabletown. Bigby will be coming back eventually, and what interests me most about him is his interactions with Snow, the animals of the Farm, and the rest of the people of Fabletown.

After looking over this, I know I've read it before. I must have just forgotten about it.

I'm looking forward to the Jack of Fables series. Jack's final arc in Fables was a lot of fun.

Yes it actually was. Of course, I'm a Bigby fan, so I was eager to get back to him and Fabletown.

Yeah, I'm anxiously awaiting Bigby's return to Fables. I hope it's a big affair.

We all know it's gonna happen eventually, and it best be good...

...at least we'll be seeing Jack again, that one storyline seemed so...final.

Shadowpact, hell yes, I knew this one was going to spin into an ongoing, with Bill drawing also, guess I'll be adding something else to my already exorbitant list...:(

I'm looking forward to everything Willingham will be doing. Thankfully, my image of him remains untainted because I didn't read that "War Crimes" arc. :)
