Well.. what kind of gamer are you primarily? Do you like get right into it, non-stop action; or wandering around/exploring?

I like both, depending on my mood. Though primarily I like a game with a lot of depth, choices, and a good story.

Then you'll like this. Its a better Oblivion(with guns) meets an apocalyptic waste land.

Bethesda has a WINNER!!!! No doubt.

Heres a list of the features for the game:

General Features

Take in the sights and sounds of the vast Capital Wasteland! See the great monuments of the United States lying in post-apocalyptic ruin! You make the choices that define you and change the world. Just keep an eye on your Rad Meter!

Vault-Tec engineers bring you the latest in human ability simulation – the SPECIAL Character System! Utilizing new breakthroughs in points-based ability representation, SPECIAL affords unlimited customization of your character. Also included are dozens of unique skills and perks to choose from, each with a dazzling variety of effects

The wizards at Vault-Tec have done it again! No longer constrained to just one view, experience the world from 1st or 3rd person perspective. Customize your view with the touch of a button
Feeling like a dastardly villain today, or a Good Samaritan? Pick a side or walk the line, as every situation can be dealt with in many different ways. Talk out your problems in a civilized fashion, or just flash your Plasma Rifle

At Vault-Tec, we realize that the key to reviving civilization after a global nuclear war is people. Our best minds pooled their efforts to produce an advanced version of Radiant AI, America’s First Choice in Human Interaction Simulation™. Facial expressions, gestures, unique dialog, and lifelike behavior are brought together with stunning results by the latest in Vault-Tec technology
Witness the harsh realities of nuclear fallout rendered like never before in modern super-deluxe HD graphics. From the barren Wasteland, to the danger-filled offices and metro tunnels of DC, to the hideous rotten flesh of a mutant’s face.

Even the odds in combat with the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System for your Pip-Boy Model 3000! V.A.T.S. allows you to pause time in combat, target specific body parts on your target, queue up attacks, and let Vault-Tec take out your aggression for you. Rain death and destruction in an all-new cinematic presentation featuring gory dismemberments and spectacular explosions

I do hope this is better than Oblivion.

Me too, but this game looks just too awesome to pass up. I'd like to download the first two, if anyone has a reliable source I could use.

"If you are looking forward to Fallout 3 but are either too young to remember the original or just fancy reliving a genuine no-messing-about classic, GameTap is offering up Fallout for free. You will have to sign up with GameTap to get at the goods, and you can expect they will probably ask if you want to start paying for their premium service at some point.

There is a slight bug in GameTap's implementation of the game that means the screen will occasionally go blank (fixable with a few key presses) but whaddaya want? Its free, and its one of the games you need to at least pretend that you have played to avoid embarrassment at dinner parties."

http://www.gog.com/en/intro is accepting beta sign up's also.

They have 1/2/tactics...

It probably wont be an indication though as it was a computer role playing game with a isometric view by Black Isle. The simallaries will most likely be vague at best. Something along the lines of Dues Ex or Stalker would be a closer comparison probably, imo.

The main thing that drew me to it, was just hearing you can wander the wastelands for hours with Dog Meat, listening to old time music. I love huge amounts of exploration in games.. no doubt one of the reasons LoZ is my favorite game series.

On gametap, do you get to the point where the options are search, free games, old games, gametap picks, and my playlists(all vertical), and then I have Fallout 1 and Tactics as options underneath that, but everytime I click on it over 80% of the screen goes white. I can click the down arrow on the bottom by using sound to bring it all back, but it still won't work for me. Any idea?

Ok, thanks. Why should I stay away from gametap? And should I use the gog url instead?

Same. I figure if I'm spending money on games, it might as well be for keeping them.

Thats how iv always felt. That and im also a really good judge of quality, rarely do i purchase a game only to be dissapointed.

So, i most definetly will be getting this.

it looks most awesome.

****ing pirates...

If I had my way any man who sails under a pirate flag or wears a pirate brand gets what he deserves: A short drop and sudden stop.

"Fallout 3, Bethesda's eagerly-awaited post-apocalyptic RPG, has been leaked onto file-sharing sites less than 24 hours after going gold. Impatient gamers have rushed to download the ripped Xbox 360 version, with one site claiming that over 800 people are now sharing a complete set of files."

That's brutal. I guess they need to screen the workers that do their CD burning better. :csad:

I had to choose between Fable and Fallout.. (only had enough for one) I couldn't stand waiting another week so I bought Fable. Not disappointed one bit by the decision, but I still really wish I could get Fallout. If Gamestop weren't such cheapos, I'd try trading a few games towards it. Unless something comes along, I'll probably have to wait until X-Mas. :(

Haha i was in the same boat man. The day before Fable came out i canceled my pre-order for Fallout and put it towards Fable, like you said, im not dissapointed but i REALLY want this game. Oh well, it gives me plenty of time to beat Fable II.
