americazmostwanted,

It's funny, my father likes rock music more than I do! The musical groups you like may have influenced by the ones that I enjoy. Please make some recommendations for listening when you can.

Best wishes,

Albert

Ya know after final filming, it got down right slow around here. Remember the days of 100 plus people visiting our threads?

ALSO, when the heck are they gonna put Doom pics up on the main site? Filiming is done, get on with it Fox!

They seem to be almost ignoring Doom to me...he's in none of the posters, he's not on the website...Doom needs some damn publicity. :o

He's on the covers of some of the books they are releasing about the movie.

They've got roughly four months to make a lot happen, esp., with Doom. Even with other films like Batman Begins, the studios save their most interesting and controversial stuff for later in the game. It sustains interest...

Yeah but are they FOX books. Fox could update the web site with Doom pics at least, at this point they need to start advertising, every little bit counts.

Yeah, like C. Lee mentioned, they've got him on several books...but those books (I believe) won't be released until June 1st...it does seem like they're saving him...

From what I've heard, the wrapping of the reshoots was a critical thing for the promo to really kick in, especially as some of the new footage for Reed is supposedly involved.

I'm not worried...yet. Looking at the way Fox handled the promotion of X1 and X2 shows me that they know how to market their comic films. If you think about it, as early as the top of the year we had that huge standee, which remains in all theatres in my city and surrounding areas, plus the teaser one-sheet. They've said that a group pose and individual character one-sheets are on the way, and it looks like Kingdom Of Heaven, BB AND ROTS are going to be a focused on with the full trailer. Those films are HUGE for this summer...Remember, this studio runs a whole fricken conglomerate...including TV, so they have many mediums at their disposal.

I highly doubt they would spend $130M on this film and not promote it to recapture their spending costs. Besides, Fox wants this to be their replacement big superhero franchise after the X-Men series runs its course in 2006.

If you think about it, FF is on the same page as Batman Begins, WOTW, and ESPECIALLY ROTS. The only reason why BB and War have more out right now is because they are being released several weeks earlier. And what does the almighty ROTS have? Two posters and a trailer?

It's funny to me that when you talk to the fans of each of these films, they ALL complain that their film is not being "promoted" enough. ;) It's all in perception.

I just saw a commercial for the ManThing movie on Sci-Fi, at least we Marvel movie fans have something coming this month.

30th at 8pm central :D

Actually Strikez, there have also been four different TV spots for ROTS, playing quite often, where I live at least, the new release of the novel, the video game coming very soon, the action figures, and probably some other forms of child-friendly merchandise.

I haven't seen any ROTS TV spots since the Super-Bowl (but I don't watch much TV), but I do see it everywhere else. Since it's less than a month until release, they're on their final push.

I think June will be big for FF, and I have a feeling their product will be more "promotion friendly" than WOTW (who really wants to play with a Tom Cruise doll - wait, don't answer that, we don't need to know). I think those sort of promotions do much more and reach a wider audience than trailers or TV spots.

I did see another FF/Victory motorcycle spot in the May Popular Mechanics. I think you'll have a hard time picking up a magazine targeted at men that won't have that ad in the coming months.

. . . but we're getting dangerously "on-topic" here. Anyone take a good crap recently?

Anybody here fans of pop music from the 1960s and 1970s?
Yes, I love The Beatles, The Supremes, The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Turtles, The Rolling Stones, Petula Clark, Brenda Lee etc. . . People find it kind of odd I like music from the 60's and I'm a teenager. But if its good, its good:up:

I agree:up: I WANT MORE DOOM!:p:doom:

I'm a fan of Sinatra, 70's rock, and 80's rock. Some of the new stuff is okay, like Jet

EDIT: Oh man, I forgot about the 60's rock. Classic stuff, as well.

E_M, Kmack,

Wow! I'm only 23, and I'm a HUGE fan of some of the bands you listed. The Turtles and the Rolling Stones are great. As far as females go, I also like Brenda Lee and Petula Clark. My favorite girl groups are the Shirelles, the Chiffons, and of course the Shangri-Las. You guys ever heard of Elvis Presley? He's a like a GOD in my opinion. :D

I think the name rings a bell. :p

I'm a big fan of the 50s/60s stuff, as well. It was like the only music I heard when I was little...so it's sorta ingrained. :o

to albert
I like

Boston
AC/DC
Black sabbath
Heart
Led zeppelin
oh **** i listen to classic rock everyday since i was little and can't remeber anything else lemme get back to this later.

To AMW,

The bands you listed as your faves are all classic rockers. They are good choices. I'm not a huge fan of rock or rap music (I love Tupac Shakur however), and I'm more into pop music. Some of the bands you listed were influenced by some of my favorite artists. Frank Sinatra is cool. Dean Martin is cool. But my favorite artist would still have to be Elvis. He is the most important person in modern music in my opinion. I also like Bob Dylan, Dusty Springfield, Leslie Gore and Dionne Warwick. The Animals, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, and Herman's Hermits, The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, The Righteous Brothers, Dion and The Belmonts, The Drifters, and The Platters are fantastic as well. But Elvis was first. :)

Albert

I know those are the main kinda classic rock group everyone would say but I like alot more classic rock bands then those basic Bands I just can't think of any right now. I like alot of those bands you have listed , I like all kinds of music ,I once was a person who was stricly into rock and kept telling myself i can only listen to a certain type of music , but then one day I just snapped out of it and started listening to rap more and really started to like it , alot of people hate rap because they don't understand it ,thats how I used to be but music alltogether is just noise/sound nothing else. I play guitar and I will play heavy **** then when im done i will go listen to my N.w.a Cd cause im open to all kinds of music I used to hate pop very much then I started to not care so i listen to whatever stuff like jessica simpson or somthing. The rap I listen to i can relate with alot because there talking about my hoods in the songs and its the truth.

AMZ,

I used to be only into rock music as well. Back in the 1990s there were the Stone Temple Pilots, the Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead. Then I only listed to dance/techno music. After that I became a fan of classic pop music from the 1960s and 1970s. I guess I kind of evolved in my musical tastes like you did. I used to care what people thought I listened to, but I guess I've matured so I don't care any more. I am at a grade four level in playing classical guitar and I've also gotten interested in classical music lately. Right now my favorite piece is Adagio for Strings by Sam Barber. I consider Barber to be the greatest American composer of the 20th century, and that song is incredible. I guess Cream would be a rare example of a rock band that I like. You a fan of theirs? I'm also wild about the Yardbirds.
