What kind of Super Speed Tricks/ Set Pieces would you guys want to see in a Flash movie ??

*Race around the world versus Zoom and quickly speed through epic/exotic locales

*Phasing an entire passenger plane through a bridge

*Running across helicopter blades

*AugCog ??

If Flash is starting out shouldn't he not have learned all these tricks yet? Plus if Flash has all these speed tricks, it would be hard for a general audience to buy a guy with boomerangs or a guy with a flamethrower as a threat to him. Flash should start out not being very powerful and become more powerful over time and Zoom shouldn't be the villain in the first film. Zoom is by far Flash's most powerful villain so its hard to raise the stakes in the next film after Flash defeats his most powerful foe.

Yeah, I would think this would be an instance where we actually get to see him, for lack of a better term, leveling up throughout the film in order to beat the rogues.

I think Barry should be struggling with his powers. For the majority of the movie, he should be running/moving at half-speed until he hits his stride near the end.

Why would WB be spinning this and pretending there's a Flash movie in development? What does that accomplish for them?

So Brad Bird is, in your opinion, the only director in the world that can do The Flash?
Sorry, but I laugh my brain out!

I don't think anyone is saying he's the only one. But he'd be a great choice.

It keeps that level of interest there. If they come out and admit that it's in development hell and probably won't see the light of day, people will just stop caring.

What people?

Whose level of interest are they caring about?

How does that help him from a business standpoint?

The fans, whose level of interest isn't likely to change? Or the average person, who probably doesn't care either way?

Yeah, I just realized that this would be a good idea too, to show Flash improving over the course of an entire movie/franchise.

I think this is the "Sports Film" aspect that Berlanti wanted to add to the Flash.

Super-speed is one of those powers that really lends itself to portraying self-improvement and surpassing others. It's not something vague like "my kung-fu is stronger than your kung-fu" but simply "I am faster than you." I think this is what makes the "surpassing your mentor" story arc in Return of Barry Allen work more so than for other legacy heroes.

Now that this has been brought up, what kind of speed limits would you guys want to impose on the Flash for a first film??? I would want to say around the Speed of Sound. Plus I wouldn't mind other limits like eating tons of food to maintain a steady metabolism and stamina/distance (I'm a marathoner and I have no idea how Zoom can pull it off if he only has "time powers")

Exactly,

Although I do think they will start putting something together after TDKR comes out.

The sports movie analogy probably is how I would want to see it, not like in most movies where it's done in like a two minute montage. You want to see him progress in real time almost.

I want this movie in my life.

Come the **** on, Warner Brothers :csad:.

Now I'm kinda thinking I want Gavin O'Connor to direct this.

I thought about this too. I'm guessing the press statement is not just aimed at the general public and fans but more towards the industry to kind of point out that The Flash and other DC superheroes are going to be a big deal over at WB.

So......what if Mark Wahlberg played Barry Allen? Not my first choice, but not the WORST choice either. I mean...I could deal with it is all I'm saying.

And that scene in the new series, where he saves that plane.....WOW. THAT needs to be in the movie. Sure, we've seen dozens of planes saved on film over the years, but NONE like that. That would have people talking if they do the film right.

FIRE everyone who had anything to do with Green Lantern working on the film. Even the title card was terrible. Looked like a made for tv movie at best, more like a commercial or something.

....Also, what about Jason Stratham as Captain Cold? Just a thought. Although I am not sure if I would want him in the first film. His badassery would make Cold...."cool". ;) (sorry)

Those are choices I wouldn't have a problem with. I've always thought Clive Owen would fit in the cast as well. Cold, Boomerang, Weather Wizard, any of these rogues would fit him. I like the idea of Statham as Cold. My choice used to be Michael Wincott but he's pretty old now...but maybe that'd work to his advantage for the character. If not him then Nick Chinlund. Cold's always been pretty gruff to me.

^^ Nice. Well what if they dyed Patrick Dempsey's hair blonde and trimmed it? You guys think he could pull Barry Allen off? I'm really trying hard for actors here lol...

I'd like Ryan Gosling to play him but idk if he would. I see some Christian Bale in him for some reason...(both great actors IMO)

You're going for actors who are too old. Wahlberg, Dempsey. They wouldn't go for them with a relatively young character like Barry in mind.

Yeah holy ***** Wahlberg is 40, Dempsey is 46. I forget how old some of these guys are. <<< Never mind then. lol

I think having the Rouges as older would work for the film. Since I can see them taking the angle of them being normal guys who adjust to combat Flash. Barry himself would have to be younger then the rouges obviously.

Their age and experience with crime could be a huge factor against Barry Allen's lack of experience with his powers. I'd like to see that played up.
