Nothing is winning me over to Barry's character yet.

I actually kind of liked this issue. I was kind of reserved about this series with the first couple issues but I think it's starting to find it's steam now. Van Sciver's artwork was really top notch in this latest issue as well.

The art in this WAS amazing...

and [BLACKOUT]Bart being Max's anchor almost made me cry. Max was the closest thing to being Bart's father. Max is BACK. I'm not sure how I feel about the negative speed force, or the fact that the regular speed force is tethered to Barry, but this is picking up steam, and I like it.[/BLACKOUT]

i love geoff johns. i love barry allen. but its getting harder and harder to love this story arc.

I thought the last issue was better than the rest but I'm not buying it.

I think the negative/positive lightnings were a good idea because it gives a better explanation IMO for Flash to be red and yellow and especially for Zoom to be completely yellow. Even if, in this case, it would make more sense to have the good guy with the right lightning color ...
I could help myself thinking "Wow, it is the Flash" looking at the great panel of Wally running toward the Speed force.
Not sure I like Barry being [BLACKOUT]the origin of the speed force[/BLACKOUT], it definitely puts him in the place of the one and only true Flash.
I did not understand much of the Pr Zoom talk ... "I push you in the reverse future for you to come back after I was being not born because of you" ....
Nevertheless, the whole yellow/red thing made me think about kid Flash. I have never liked the suit of Kid Flash half yellow/half red, I think it was stupidly ridiculous. Anyway When Bart became kid Flash , I thought it would be fun, because he was half Thawne (yellow) and half Allen blood (red). So I think it works fine to have those red lightnings and these yellow lightnings.
Well this last issue was better IMO, but I'm not buying Barry as the ultimate Flash. Every time I see Wally, I think "hey it's the Flash". There were no real need to bring back Barry.

Keepin with tradition and all that...
Man.....**** Barry Allen.

On another note I don't think I have ever seen so much red and yellow in a comic ever. It hurt my eyes for a bit.

Is it really that big of a deal? Flash comics are filled to the brim with esoteric time travel pseudoscience crap. Bart became the Speed Force for a year or two. And wasn't Barry the same lightning bolt that gave himself his own powers? The Speed Force could have always existed, even if Barry is the one who started it.

And at the end of the issue it's made pretty obvious that Barry alone is not the Speed Force. All the speedsters make up the equation. It's right there on the page. A character says it out loud.

Which...y'all would know if you read the issue, so again I have to ask what the big deal is.

The whol Speed Force thing didnt really bother me. However this is my first foray into The Flash mythos so maybe I just don't know any better

I don't see how he has possibly been doing that, particularly with this issue. Wally alone kicked a great mass of ass here.

Yea they are got quite a fair share of the spotlight. I loved seeing them all going after Zoom. It was great.

But Barry is the creator of the speed force.
Barry is the main speedster in Blackest Night.
Barry is the new Flash of the JLA.

Wally is a lot more deserving of these credentials than Barry, in my mind.

No-one should have created anything ever.

For the record I hated Bart becoming the Speed Force and all depowering of Jay after IC too.

I just can't believe this series doesn't end till November. How much left is there to tell?

I was about to say the same thing but then I saw this.

Nothing could ever put Barry in the place of the one and only true Flash.Just like nothing could ever put Hal in the place of the one and only true Green Lantern.

I'm sure that this speed force thing is planned to run into something Johns is doing, but it just seems like a dumb recton to me. Now, no not as dumb as Hal being possessed by a giant space cockroach, which was mind numbing in its stupidity, but more kind of like an eye-rolling 'Yeah, whatever,' kind of dumb.

For the record I hated Bart becoming the Speed Force and all depowering of Jay after IC too.

Same here. That stuff was equally as stupid, if not a little more

I do like the speedsters' love interest being the "lightning rod" that saves them from the speed force. I know Wally brought it up when he went into the SF in IC, but was there another time they said it?

Back when Mark Waid created the Speed Force, Wally pushed himself for more speed until he found himself merging with it. He didn't know what it was then, and he was understandably terrified of it. He got sucked through it and spit out into alternate worlds and times, but he ultimately found his way back to his own world and time by focusing on his love for Linda.

Man Waid is just awesome. Everyone agree?

I do, I do. His Flash is still the bestest run on the character ever, as far as I'm concerned. Not only is it well-written, it's like a cornucopia of raw imaginative power given all the stuff he came up with--the Speed Force, a lot of defining stuff for Wally and Linda's relationship, Max Mercury's return, Impulse, etc.

Since I hear you guys talking so much about Waid's run on Flash. I was wondering where I should start? Are there trades of his run. I am only getting into Flash now since Rebirth started. I read bits and pieces of Flash here and there right after Identity Crisis and read the series that started after Bart rocketed up in age in like a day or two.
