Mottola would be excellent choice from a story/tone perspective. As long as he can handle the action and special effects, althought most filmmakers do fine

I dont think Wright is right for Flash anyway. Hes a little too funny. Sure, he doesnt forget the dramatic and genre elements to his movies, but still..... Wright would be excellent to take on Weinsteins Plastic Man script. Or a Plastic Man script in general. Wright knows how to be funny, but to build an legit movie around that humor.

I'm trying to think when they're going to release The Flash.

With Green Lantern having the Summer 2011 slot, DC/WB's plans of having only 'one major DC movie' a year might be deemed to be premature.

For example, WB has to start on a Superman movie by 2011 for a 2012 release right? So in theory, let's say Superman has Summer 2012:

If Chris Nolan is ready, he'll start his third Batman movie, By the way things are going, it'll probably be next after Inception, giving plenty of room to start production in 2011 for a 2012 release.

So there's a possibility that WB/DC will have Superman and Batman in one summer. Again, in theory.

So what about The Flash? My prediction is that it'll get ready to shoot in 2012 for a 2013 Summer release. There's a possiblity for a Winter 2012 release for The Flash but keep in mind that WB already has Batman and Superman in the same finical year, so I don't think they'll have enough in that time frame for another superhero flick. Plus, they have The Hobbit to deal with as well.

So I'll say it again: The Flash for 2013, unless we all die by 2012!!!

WB is too hard to read and 2011 might be too early for them to get a superhero flick off the ground.

2011 for a release date, or 2011 to start production? Big difference, espcially for Superman. There was a misconception amongst fanboys that Superman the reboot had to be released in 2011, which is not the case at all.

With Superman, they need to fasttrack it because it might determine the fate of the character at the studio, since the family of the creators will regain the copyrights in 2013.

Batman, WB for sure would like to have that done ASAP, but it depends on Nolan. By looking at the schedule of Batman Begins, The Prestige, and then Dark Knight, there's enough time to start in 2011. But it depends on Nolan.

Nothing is concrete. I'm just seeing what may happen..

I say The Flash for 2013 is because so far, there isn't set for 2013, and if I'm right, I think The Flash is next in line for Warner Bros (ahead of Wonder Woman or the rest of the DC heroes). Now, let's say if Nolan wants to hold off on Batman or WB decides to do nothing with Superman, or both, then I can see The Flash for 2012.

I said this at the Superman thread, but how pathetic is it that Lobo and Deadman have directors, but nothing for the Flash or Supes or WW. I think 2013 makes the most sense for the FLash also. Maybe DC will stagger smaller heroes with bigger ones like this:
2011-GL, Lobo, Deadman
2012-batman(or Supes)Adam Strange
2013-Flash(swamp thing)
or something to that effect
Shazam has to fit in somewhere too.

Well, Lobo and Deadman could be cheaper to make than The Flash or Superman, so they're getting greenlit first. I think WB is just trying to counter Marvel by releasing a good variety of movies at their disposal, big or small.

With that said, I can see Green Lantern being the main movie of 2011, with Deadpool and Lobo being the minor ones.

With 2012, I can't see Adam Strange being there because the project doesn't even have a writer yet. I can see, however, Shazam/Captain Marvel being in 2012. Maybe Swamp Thing too.

If Batman, Superman AND Shazam came out in 2012, that'd be the greatest summer ever. Of course... not counting on Superman.

althought wb would rack in money like crazy 2012, 2011 would be one extremely expensive year for them lol. Im hoping to god superman is at least on its way.

Hopefully we know they have to do something/have something in production by 2011(be that jan 1st or if they got through the whole year) by the court deadline, if they dont want to lose the film rights. I believe i read if they can mak that deadline the secure the film rights to superman for another 20 or so years.

I'm expecting a press release of The Flash any day now, especially after the DC Entertainment deal.

I think we'll hear something about The Flash or Superman or both later this year. I can feel it...Who knows..maybe...WONDER WOMAN too!

hopefully so for flash/superman. We know their is issues with studios not doing female lead action films and all that. But i do like from what i was reading producers like joel silver who has long held propteries like WW for example are off that now. Hopefully with this change they can put producers/writers/directors on these projects who can get things actually moving and not sitting on it for years on end.

well probably not any day, with the news saying dc is planning on some big meeting in early 2010 to talk about things.

HOw can I miss this:

DC Comics will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2010 (NEW FUN COMICS #1, the first DC comic, began publishing in 1935), at which time more explicit details regarding DC Entertainment's corporate and management structure, film and content release slate, creative roster and business objectives will be unveiled at a multi-faceted anniversary celebration and press conference in the first quarter of the year.

that is probably when we will hear whats going on for deadman/lobo/ hopefully flash, would love for superman too. Then maybe one or two of those other projects like adam strange/aquaman/shazam.

well

I think Deadman and Lobo will be ready for production by then, so we'll probably hear more of the casting, etc.

I think we'll hear more of Nolan's Batman 3, Superman, and hopefully The Flash and Wonder Woman. Plus future TV and game projects to boot.

well i doubt ww flash/superman hopefully. Tv well it probably wouldnt be for anything to 2011 season. besides the human target show starting in jan and then that mass something for fall 2010/early 2011 season.

you doubt Wonder Woman?

Or do you doubt Flash and Wonder Woman?

For sure, I can see The Flash news coming out next year.

wonder woman due to alot of people/studio anti female lead action films and all that. Though i think if you get the right writers/director on board and have a good story and a solid actress it could do great if they promote it right and it has good word of mouth. I just hope now they will take the characters seriously and not muck around with things just to muck with things.

OK Don't jump down my throat but with Ryan Reynolds doing Green Lantern and Deadpool, it occurred to me...Seann William Scott as the Flash. What do you think?
