I'm guessing Carey was involved since he was writing for Gambit, rogue, and mystique at the time.

Hmm...

Based on what Carey's said about Mystique he probably had a hissy fit when they were planning on letting Gambit take her down.

'Cause, according to Carey, she's the most dangerous woman in the Marvel U. :whatever:

If you look in the hardcover TPB of Messiah complex, the editor's notes show that they had planned for Gambit to make a comeback, that he was going to "go back to being interesting" and had him planned to be the one who took out mystique and saved the baby at the end.

Unfortunately, that was all scrapped and he was relegated to wallpaper while Mystique kills sinister via headlock.
Wow, what a rip off. I had no idea that was what was planned. That would have been so much better.

I agree. Gambit had more history with Sinister not to have iced him. Still, I did enjoy seeing him save the kid and being overheard by Xavier that he was still good.

As for what IamLegend said to my last post. I don't think I'll swing you round to my way of thinking on Gambit's future. It's all cool though. We see things the way we want to.

He's got the history...

And had they gone that route they could have even called Gambit's encounter with fake-Sinister during the Golgotha travesty foreshadowing.

It would have made so much more sense... and at the very least provided Gambit fans with something to remember, since he's on his way back into limbo.

:waa:

But..but.. I don't wants him in the limbo. :p

Now now. Think happy thoughts. The glass is half full, tomorrow is another day, George Bush can't be re-elected...

Yay for no Bush anyhow. :p But I will think happy thoughts -- ice cream sundae, prime rib, football sunday, Gambit naked in my bed.... :D

I've curiosity to know the new Gambit comic they'll release next year, when Wolverine movie comes, hehe.

Has one been listed or is there just speculation? Personally I'm worried about a solo this soon. I'd rather see him appear in team books or someone else's solo for a while first. The Gambit solos aren't in my opinion his best stories.

Though of course with a good writer that could always change.

it was speculation. I'd like to see something new, maybe not in May, but in the next months yes.

I wanted to ask you all about his latest series, the 4th series.

Here in Spain it never arrived, so how it is? Is a good series?

Didn't get the entire run myself. The ones I got didn't exactly wow me. Wasn't really into the art and the stories didn't seem to be important in Gambit's development. It did have an interesting idea or two, nothing capitalised on though.

Though that's just my opinion and I haven't all the comics.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as the previous ongoing, I think Fabien Nincienza -- who write an awesome Deadpool -- captured Gambit then very well. The writer for the latest ongoing didn't do as good a job but it was still enjoyable.

Here's a more humorous sample from it:

He had a quickie with a girl who was using him to get something, I don't know if that counts as an affair. :p

Give him credit where credit's due. For a guy who swaggers about like a man-ho, he sure did go a VERY long time without any.

That is true. I am surprised that they've toned down his womanizing as much as they have. Prolly because Carey wants to keep him for Rogue alone. *gags*

Personally I wish they would find a way for Gambit and Rogue to over come her powers and kill off that particular plotline so they can work things out. Then they can move onto other stories, new ones even!

Plus Rogue's power situation has been a dead horse for decades. It's not like Cyclops inability to over come his handicap which is more or less a moot point for him as it doesn't really hinder much of anything for him.

mmm, don't like the style at all... seems a bit like a teen comic, he.

But I suppose I'll read it. I'm reading right now his first limited series, so in next months I'll do it.

His fourth series was ok, but definitely the weakest of all the solos they put out around that time.

that means they didn't care at all about the success of that latest series.

It was better than the Rogue one. That one was kind of a mess. :( Confusing.
