I'm guessing Carey was involved since he was writing for Gambit, rogue, and mystique at the time.

Wow, what a rip off. I had no idea that was what was planned. If you look in the hardcover TPB of Messiah complex, the editor's notes show that they had planned for Gambit to make a comeback, that he was going to "go back to being interesting" and had him planned to be the one who took out mystique and saved the baby at the end.
Unfortunately, that was all scrapped and he was relegated to wallpaper while Mystique kills sinister via headlock.
Wow, what a rip off. I had no idea that was what was planned. That would have been so much better.
I agree. Gambit had more history with Sinister not to have iced him. Still, I did enjoy seeing him save the kid and being overheard by Xavier that he was still good.
As for what IamLegend said to my last post. I don't think I'll swing you round to my way of thinking on Gambit's future. It's all cool though. We see things the way we want to.
He's got the history...
And had they gone that route they could have even called Gambit's encounter with fake-Sinister during the Golgotha travesty foreshadowing.
It would have made so much more sense... and at the very least provided Gambit fans with something to remember, since he's on his way back into limbo.

But I will think happy thoughts -- ice cream sundae, prime rib, football sunday, Gambit naked in my bed....

I've curiosity to know the new Gambit comic they'll release next year, when Wolverine movie comes, hehe.
I liked it. It wasn't as good as the previous ongoing, I think Fabien Nincienza -- who write an awesome Deadpool -- captured Gambit then very well. The writer for the latest ongoing didn't do as good a job but it was still enjoyable.it was speculation. I'd like to see something new, maybe not in May, but in the next months yes.
I wanted to ask you all about his latest series, the 4th series.
Here in Spain it never arrived, so how it is? Is a good series?

Here's a more humorous sample from it:

It was better than the Rogue one. That one was kind of a mess. His fourth series was ok, but definitely the weakest of all the solos they put out around that time.
