jmc,

The haters will get worse if Captain America takes off. That'll be Marvel-3, DC-0.

It'll never end.

Nah it's cool, no matter how good Marvel's films end up we've still got the ace up our sleeve in Batman. ;)

If Armond White posts a review saying Green Lantern is a masterpiece, then I will truly abandon all hope.

I'll enjoy it anyway.

The only bad part is that, if it fails, there will neither be a sequel with the Sinestro Corps nor non-Superman and non-Batman DC movies, which is a shame.

jmc,

But that's all we've got. And frankly, it's over next summer. A reboot Batman isn't such a good idea either.

Having a Green Lantern and Man of Steel trilogy(s) over the next decade is what WB was really banking on.

Who knows? Maybe general audiences won't care and come out in droves for Lantern to lift it to a sequel.

Sequel talk is extremely premature right now.

That's officially the kiss of death.

I believe it'll be this year's Transformers. Critics will hate it, but the General Audience will love it. It seems like the quintessential summer movie: Action, comedy, romance, adventure and some suspence in a fast-paced, action-packed movie.

At least Transformers got good write-ups from the trades and Empire.

Gotta disagree with Douglas though on the Sinestro make-up. Strong looks fantastic.

Idk...it seems that those reviewers have a BIG PROBLEM with the concept of GL in general.

Since when do fans of a character on a forum care what critics or webmasters think?

It's estimated opening isn't big, the worldwide release is staggered and word of the ordinary reviews are spreading like wildfire, use some common sense.

1. The general audience in general doesn't care about reviews that are from movie critics, most of them that is.

2. There are no box final box office numbers right now. ZERO.

3. I already know that the estimated opening isn't big.

4. The movie may not be as bad as some of the negative reviews make it out to be. At the end of the day it all depends on what your expectations are and how many of them you have pertaining to the GL movie.

Thanks for trying kid. :whatever: You must have kept repeating negative and unprovable stuff to yourself for so long that you eventually believed in it.

Anyways, I also a feeling that the movie would divided movie critics and Green Lantern fans.

jmc,

Concept is one thing. That's very subjective. But, execution? Not good at all, if it's an execution problem.

Stick your head in the sand then for all I care, don't come crying to me.

That dailyblam review's second paragraph hurt me but I can't understand for the life of me this obsession with having short films these days.

Having Titanic, Avatar, and the Dark Knight not taught us anything?

I'm all for keeping an open mind and HOPING that the film is a box office success. But being incredibly smarmy and arrogant in dismissing even the possibility of failure has the potential to leave you looking incredibly stupid a couple of weeks from now. If the film fails, jmc will be able to just quote posts like this one to bury you in any future argument. Hope for the best, but calm down, and don't get so angry about defending the film.

This. It's actually making me laugh reading his posts. :hehe:

Every movie has the potential of being bad. GL just might be one of those that meet that potential, unfortunately. I think the genre, like the world, will move on, but I can see how a GL fan would be hurt by this prospect. It happens.

S.A.A.D, calm down man. Let's keep it civil here, people.

It goes back and forth to be honest.

As disheartening as the reviews are coming in, some I question, some I can understand. Still looking forward to seeing the movie so I'll have my own verdict to give.

If we're going to **** in our pants about great reviews, we have to worry about bad reviews too.

Soze with a double wham of truth
