In regards to @TheInSneider "prediction", lets just say WB is perfectly happy with Goyer just writing GL

I told everyone he was full of **** but people just love panicking. He's making a guess and that's all.

My pick for Hal Jordan...James Marsden and my pick for John Stewart is Common

James Marsden as Hal Jordan I like, Common as John Stewart, I'm eh on.

Common is getting up there for the roles fanboys/fangirls like to put him in.

Trevante Rhodes for John.

Trevante would be amazing. I can easily see him stealing the show from Hal

So... Rumors of an older Hal, Rupert Wyatt... Even if not totally accurate it could indicate some movement on the project.

Personally... I love the idea of the gray at he temples Hal being the vet to train a newly inducted Stewart. Getting a more experienced name to be Hal who is between 39 and 45 let' say, doesn't mean that Hal is getting shafted or will be in for a film and then passes the torch to Stewart. It could mean they want an established name to lend credibility to the project. Someone that can be of help in launching AND maintaining a franchise.

Rupert is a pretty good choice for this. Hope he has creative control.

I wonder who they have in mind for an older Hal? Josh duhamel maybe?

They need to reboot the entire studio.

Because they did such a terrible job with Wonder Woman?

To me the early 90s are arguably the worst era of Green Lantern comics, that's why I don't wish Hal to be older because I associate that version with a time I'm not a fan of. Other than that an older movie Hal can still work and work well, but he's just not my preferable version. The young, brash, brazenly defiant Hal is when the character is at his best in my opinion, but whatever ends up happening I will try to judge Hal's movie depiction on its own merit, rather than on what I think they "should" be doing with him.

I think an older Hal is a good way to go from a story standpoint for this. For an entry point. It's could be a good dynamic. Why not have an older Hal, who might be a bit jaded and tired with patrolling the universe, but who can still get the job done? And a young, brash John Stewart could be interesting to see, to see him grow older and wiser.

Trevante Rhodes sounds like a great fit for that.

As for who to cast as Hal Jordan, that's kind of a tough one...

I say Phillip Winchester. He's in his late 30s but looks kinda weathered.

Winchester would make a great Hal. Or any superhero, really. Guy is built like a tank and has the jawline of a Jim Lee drawing.

Also, Wyatt would be an inspired choice for a director. He also referenced Batman Begins as an influence on his Apes film so he seems to be a fan of the genre.

I like this choice.

However, if they go for the older, grey-templed veteran Hal, I vote this guy:

Flick... That never would have occurred to me and... I can see it now to an extent. Jaimie is dashing, heroic in his own way, full of himself... Yeah he probably could pull Hal off. Also there is a playfulness with Hal that he doesn't get to show too often on THRONES tha when you see him in interviews I think he could do as well. GoT will be over by the time GLC gets underway and there is a good chance he could deliver some of that audience to the movie.

Interesting choice. At first I thought he was Edward Snowden lol
